Is there's anyway to mod the tab 3 where I could install qi wireless charger attachment to use with my wireless charging pad? My daughters tab 3 has a bad charging port and I don't want to pay the $130 for a local shop to fix it.
Thanks!

SainSonic Wireless Charging Pad + Wireless charging receiver For Samsung S3

I just got an S3, and was excited about the ability to use wireless charging. While looking for QI gear on eBay, I ironically stumbled across an item that will add that very same feature on my old SII, without any permanent hardware mod needed.
The item in question is this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200963522572?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
It's basically a QI charging inlay thing that has a very tiny microUSB connector, allowing you to connect it to essentially anything that charges via microUSB. I bought one just to try it out, and sure enough, it works like a charm with my old S II. I have a cheap (but great) TPU case on my S II, and the QI inlay fit absolutely perfectly between the case and the phone's actual back cover.
I used the SII for more than a year and a half, and I frankly hope that this was just invented a few weeks ago, as I hate to think that wireless charging for my S II was $16 away all that time >.<
Hey, *thanks* so much for this, it is just about exactly what i was looking for (and not able to track down on the net). Much appreciated and can't wait to try it out on my SGS2!
Where can I get the charging pad to lay it on? It's not in the link

QI is a standard. Throw a rock and you will hit a compatible charger : p
Thanks, this was very useful info.
Will it work with PowerMat charging pad or I need to buy new one?

great stuff, but what will i do if i need to charge it by cable?
With "Android Tuner Free" you can see the incoming mAh when charging (at battery stats).
With standard wallcharger from samsung I get ~640mAh
Does anybody got the incoming mAh stats about wireless charging?
Anyway, I think cable is better because you can move and use your phone.

I've been searching the interwebs and went to the Samsung store at Best Buy (mistake) and haven't been able to find a concrete answer.
Does the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 have wireless charging? Qi? Actually any of the new galaxy tab pro line?
The back is not replaceable like other galaxy devices so an aftermarket replacement back with wireless charging is not foreseeable correct?
Thanks for anyone who can help!

It does not have wireless charging. It would take a week to charge it even if it did.
I remember having the Palm Pre wireless charging puck and yes, it was slow. Even doing other things while having it wirelessly charge (watching a movie, playing a game, tethering) would slow the charging rate down to the point where it would actually discharge because the power drain was higher than the charging speed LOL
I had wireless charging on my nexus 7 and loved it. Yes it was slower but it was nice to not have to fiddle with USB cables in the dark. Batteries usually last the day so I just had to put it on at night. If bought 2 Nokia Qi chargers at att when they were on sale for $25. Now they are just collecting dust.

I have a G Pad and have a QI USB wireless charger receiver, basically plugs into USB and stick the coil on the back plate with sellotape haha!
The great thing about this is it can work on phones that don't support QI.
I have got a case off eBay to hide the receiver (it still chargers great) through the case.
I'd say the maximum charge distance was maybe 5 - 7 mm.
It is slow. About 13 - 14% an hour. (Stock was 9%)
I drop it on QI pad at night and its 100% when I get up.
I sometimes put it on when I go out and whatnot. I love it!
I can deal with the charging rate, because its a lot more convenient, I'm one that fiddles with USB cords haha!
Still use USB for phone but converting to full Wireless slowly.
Just starting this for those that wanted to discuss wireless charging for they're Note2.

Wireless charging for the sgh-i317 is a piece of cake. Just pick up a wireless charging receiver from somewhere (ebay, local, etc), align the 2 pins, and place on Qi charger. Easy breezy. I use mine on a DT-900 and no problems.

SainSonic QI Standard Wireless Charger Receiver Tag for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 NOTE II N7100 LTE
compatible withe
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 / LTE N7105 / LTE AT&T I317
You can use it in easy 4 steps
STEP 1: Open the original case of SAMSUNG.
STEP 2: Stick the receiver card on the mobile phone's battery. Please noted that the two protuberant touching points must touch
the two recesses next to the battery.
STEP 3: Close the original case.
STEP 4: Place the mobile phone onto the wireless charging Pad.
how fast do these charge compared to micro usb cables? i have a 2.1 amp charger and cable that charges my note 2 at 1900ma. can these compete?

Has anyone used one of these QI Receivers to add wireless charging to their phones?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RXBQFVV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HrWfFb7VS91BA
I'm paranoid about wearing down the USB C port with using or for both wired headphones and wired charging. I've only had the phone a week and have managed to slightly bend the USB C port pins when I pulled the phone off the table with some headphones plugged in [emoji17]
I know charging will be slow but wondered if anyone had used one at all?

I bought one of these as ive got a really nice wireless charger stand and it was only a tenner to give it a try. Absolutely useless. Tried it on 2 fast wireless chargers - a 27W and a 15W one with different plugs (the Supervooc, a huawei supercharger and a Fast charge 2.0) and different cables and the most i could get to show on a charge meter app was 134mah - but the charge was all over the place and mostly was well below 100 and as soon as the phone thinks about something then into the negetive.. I'm not sure that even all night on that charge would get from 0-100%
If anyone else has tried a different one that works well (I know that it wont charge very quick, i'd just like to be confident that it would fully charge overnight) then please post links!!
Damn! I'm in the same boat, I've got a nice Samsung convertible wireless charger which is now acting as a fancy bedside phone stand due to the Oppo not having wireless charging.
I heard reviews from others on Amazon that said the same as you said, it's slow (which is fine), but also that even after a full night of charging, the phone wasn't full in the morning! [emoji17]

I was having another play and tried another wireless charging pad - a 15W one with a Quickcharge 2 plug both 'Ventev' brand (the one i was trying to get to work was a Huawei Suoercharge wireless charging stand) and it consistently charged at 350mAh. This would be slow but probably enough to get a charge overnight - so I'd say it may be worth a try as it seems it all depends on the charger you use.
