OK. So i just got my phone a week or so ago. I'm used to fingerprints on my phones screen. When I'm at the office, I leave my phone alone while I work. I noticed my M8's screen was clean when I picked it up after a couple hours. Then I kept noticing the same thing over and over again. I'd leave the screen with numerous fingerprints. and hours later, they'd be gone. And the screen looked like it was cleaned with windex. It looked super clean. Am I missing something? Is this a feature of the screen? I'm just baffled and amazed but it keeps happening. I keep finding my phones screen clean. Either way. I'm loving it.

Could it just be that your workmates are just picking your phone up with their sweaty paws to admire it and then cleaning it to hid the evidence?
No its not that... I'm dead serious... My phone is just sitting next to me for hours while I work and the screen just cleans itself its very perplexing.

Never notice until u brought it up I know my pocket don't clean it and I have no screen protector on but it's clean again this morning

I kind of notice the same thing. I was thinking that, since I am so used to clean my old One M7, I do it out of habit. Strange thing
Wow if u ain't focus u won't notice it

Okay. I thought this was crazy when I read it... but it's not. lol.
I am usually having to clean the screen on my jeans or whatever is handy... but not with this phone. Yes there are fingerprints... but when I just leave it alone and put it away... next time I grab it... the prints are gone. Maybe there is a coating of some sort on it? Anyway, it's pretty nice to not always have to clean the screen.

I've noticed that and the Screen also doesn't smear, which is great coming from the GS4.

Just noticed on my phone earlier when i unlocked it that i hat a red dot near the bottom. Ran a pixel test i found on the market and it shows up on any background and my brightness setting doesn't affect it. Is there any way i can fix this?

Press hard on the screen where the stuck pixel is so the screen distorts in that area and hold for 10 or so seconds. Thats how ive done it for my lcd monitors and its worked.

That wouldn't work anyways cause the screen it under a hard glass cover. Also its not a true lcd screen its an oled screen

Maybe an app could be developed that uses the device gpu/cpu to mimic the effects of Pixel Tuneup?
I can't link because i'm new, but it's pixeltuneup[dot]com.
Just a thought. If this turns out to be a widespread issue, a simple app might be something people would pay a buck or two for. From what I understand, PT just puts out a calibrated video signal that is good at fixing pixel issues.
Ill have to give that a look and maybe contact the developer. Its not that bad of a problem but i always find myself staring at it lol
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
So does anyone else have a possible idea? I've looked all over Google recently and can't find much about fixing oled screens.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I supposed you've tried the screen calibrators that flash a whole bunch of colors. Thats would really be my only advice. If it doesn't work out a warranty replacement would be my last resort
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Yea I've tried a few if those already and left each one run for about an hour. As for a replacement i wouldn't be able to do since i just got this one after my last one broke. Also I've have this phone for a little over one month or so :/

So why can't you get a replacement ? The phone is to be free of defects for a year, even if you already replaced it. Stuck pixels are a manufacturing defect which is covered under the warranty. If you got it in store, go back to the store. If you got it from 611 or online call the 1800 number and tell them.
Ah ok i see what you mean now. My next issue would be to find a stock 2.3.6 Rom

I guess the stairs-carpet helped at some point.. but hey I think we do feel your emotion
Good news for you then. Remember dropping my first mobile a Motorola A835 and these were a size-able beast. I had dropped it down a flight of 12 course concrete steps. It bounced like a ball of 4 of the steps, then, when it hit the bottom, the phone made a sharp left into a hedge while the battery cover made a sharp right down a shallow drain. The phone worked great. It only had a scuff on the edge and scratch on the screen :victory:
Lucky for the carpet I'd say. The phone would have died if you'd done that on concrete stairs like in a car park or something.

Installed it straight out of the box... turned it on minutes after installing it. I would give it at least an 8.

I've only had the device about a week... And no, it's not noticeably thick. You can tell it's there, but it's very smooth; I personally almost prefer using my screen with this rather than with just the bare glass.
I have the invisi-shield extreme and I like it... it's not really thick or anything and it's like a insurance in protecting your phone... the only thing I had a problem with is... there is this spot on the phone that arches over the home button and there is a small space between the button and the shield.... well it just so happened I was getting out the car heading in to work was getting all my stuff together and I dropped my keys which had a small lock on it for my backpack... and it hit perfectly on that spot and shattered my screen from that point and cracking lines went up the screen... I was irritated at first.... but got my replacement with my insurance policy and got my extreme shield transferred over to that one... but other than that little weak spot it's a really good protector and doesn't affect the screen touch at all... hope this helps your decision

So the "Beatsaudio" logo can be rubbed off with non-acetone nail polish remover, and not damage the phone at all.
I'm just wondering, can the "Verizon 4GLTE" logo be rubbed off, or is it etched? Anyone willing to try?
Before you call me crazy, here's a photo of a Sprint HTC One with the "Beatsaudio" logo rubbed off. The Sprint HTC One does not have a "Sprint" logo so it was never there to begin with.
I think it is...sexy...naked...ooooh.
I dont want to be the guinea pig but you can clearly feel that these logos are screen printed on or something and not etched, so I would assume they could come off.
Go to best buy and try it on theirs...

it will come off..
cleanly though, another story, I agree though, would love to ridit.
It feels similar to the Beats print, so I assume it could be removed similarly. Not willing to try on my own device, though. A non-clear case will cover it right up, anyway.
Try Goof off. It wont harm the aluminum(as long as thats what it is and it isnt coated) and it should get rid of the logo's just dont get it on the screen and be careful with it. This stuff will melt plastic(slowly), so dont get it on anything plastic. Just put it on a paper towel and wipe it off(if it will). If it will come off, it will start to smear....then you know it will. Just slowly get it off by using more goof off a little bit at a time.
Well thats my idea. I take no responsibility for any harm done to your device! LOL
I definitely won't be trying it on my shiney new One, but I will admit that is SEXXXY without the logos on the back.
I must be one of the only people who don't care about things like this...

Some people do, some people don't. I wouldn't say that I care that it's there, it doesn't affect the way the phone works, but if it's removable, I'll remove it. I removed the badges/emblems from my car and truck, because I think they look better without them. Same sort of thing with the Verizon 4G LTE logo. It's just a preference.
I'll take the chance and try it once I get my One and will update everyone on the method I used and photos.

From what I read, people used non acetone nail polish remover. I know for sure it removes the 'beatsaudio' but not sure if it will remove the Verizon logo.
I'd try it but I haven't got my One yet
well we already KNOW that the beats audio logo can come off. just need to find out what gets the vzw one off. Will doing this ruin my warranty that I bought from squaretrade though? I'd love a clean back but not at the expense of zero backup plan...

Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible that, after a fall of 3 feet on a wooden floor, a component or anything else on my HTC One (m8) has been broken and made the device a little bit slow?
I'm a little paranoid about that, so thanks in advance for the answer.
Highly doubt it but anything is possible.

Correct. Like if you dropped it and it wouldn't turn on.

This is a pretty ambiguous question. I've seen phones survive 6 foot drops but not a simple 2 ft slip of the hand. I'll just comment on the build quality, and will say that it is top notch.

Thanks for your answers. I checked everything as the camera, LED, vibrate, gyro... and everything seems fine, so I come to the conclusion that it's is a coincidence. And I trust the amazing built quality of the M8.
