Is it possible to change the fixed widgets on this phone (Menu - Phone - Settings) and their icons, WITHOUT having to change your launcher - I seem to like the basic launcher (having tried about 3 or 4 now) and they all allow you to customise the fixed widgets but is this possible in the standard non customised model and if so how..?
OR is there a Launcher that will allow you to access ALL of the basic HTC widget as I quite like some of them like the expanded message and agenda page.. cheers..

This is on the standard (as it comes) ROM. I have changed nothing and telephone was purchased new approx 2 weeks ago so its on release 2.2.1

You mean the dock buttons, and no theres no way change them (although if you download skins on htc hub you can get a skin that has the dock with another color and the blackboard skin makes the dock squared)
Other choice that you have is getting the full version of launcher pro, and get the fancy widget from the market
The full version of launcher pro has a "friends" widget that kinda looks like the friend stream widget, also it has a contacts widget that looks like the people widget, the dont look as good as the htc original ones but it can be an alternative
And the fancy widget app is the weather clock widget from htc alternative except it doesnt have the weather animation

Thanks, I have the full version of Launch Pro and yes it does what you say but it would not let me use some of the HTC sense widget which I also liked.. pity..

I really love the black's so I wanted to do something with it... I choose for saturated icons in the hope they would really 'pop' of the screen but my expectations weren't delivered.

Nova launcher and as minimalistic as i can be.
Here's what i have for now. Trying to be minimalistic but having only black bores me. But idk if the white side burns too much batt...
I'm using the default OnePlus launcher to apply whicons and it works fine except for this one app.. why is Google calendar being stubborn? I did see the icon for it in the whicons theme pack..

I would say because it's OnePlus' own Calendar app and not one that the icon pack recognizes.

Ahh, odd. I guess maybe you can use another launcher....if you want to go that route.
Can you long press the calendar icon, click "edit", click the icon and select Whicons and choose the icon you want to use?

Probably because it is adaptive, as it shows the current date
I never noticed. Probably because I use Nova Launcher. Thanks built in Launcher would be nice if I could hide icons.

That's because the icon keeps changing everyday as it shows real-time date on icon. But I couldn't fit this explanation for weather app, which is also forbidden from editing
Same here...really weird because most of the icon pack on the store support dynamic calendar icon...so I don't know why this block from OnePlus...asked on their community too...but no one answered..thought I was the only one...glad to see a thread about it here...
