Hello everyone, I've recently bought a Galaxy Fame GT S-6810 and need some help, I want to add my own ringtone to the list where are standard rings, but when I press ADD it says that I need to put it into dropbox and take from there, is there any way of selecting rings from SD card or from phone music that I added ? thanks in advance
i think that u make the drop box as default ringtone chooser !!!!!!!
fix: setting>application manger>all apps>find dropbox click it> clear default !!!!
i think that after this u can choose your ringtone and always choose ringtone from music player !!!!!
try it and report !
CHEERS !!!!!!!! and press thankx !!!!

I think once you've done option 1 once it remembers the settings, been a while since I've done it so this is only from memory, let us know what happens, if anything when you try it.
i downloaded and edited a sound clip which is an mp3 but cant seem to set as it as a notication, only alarm, contact or default ringtone show up...anyway to do this?
Go to your music and press and hold the song you want as your ringtone. The menu that comes up will give you the option of using the song as a ringtone. That will make the song the ringtone for your phone for the moment and also put it in the list of ringtones that are available to you in the future.

try this... put the custom ringtones or sounds on the sd card in the notifications folder in the media folder.
The op clearly asked for notification ringtones lol.
Never done it. But id assume moving it tion media+audio+notifications folder would do the trick

just read up on that, thanks homie!
To use custom ringtones for your phone ringtone, your alarm or your text message notification, simply copy an MP3 file to one of the following folders:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
If they don't already exist, then create a new folder.
The file will then show up when you want to change your ringtones.
For Ringtones go to Settings - Sound - Phone ringtone
For Text Messages go to - Settings - Sound - Notification ringtone
For Alarm, set the sound when you add a new alarm
You don't want a song for texting. Goddddd that is so annoying

Hi,
i search a way to reproduce my configuration sound on my ONEX.
I come from windows mobile then i was manage sound for every notification like Battery Low, usb connect, mail, calendar, sms, mms, and some others various settings available on WInMo...
But on Android, i can only manage my ringtone and a standard notification for all sms, email, calendar & more...
Where is the legendary ability to make everything on Android device... Customisation pass by sound too...
If everybody as a "third app" or secret, can you sahre with me...
Rewards ; A generic graphic request !
Root ur phone and get in to /system/media/audio. There is the sounds. If u want to change them, replace the files inside the folders. But remember: the name MUST be the same, otherwise it will not work.

I think what you mean is customise each app for its own tone? If so, you go into the app itself i.e. Messages (SMS) and in the top right click Menu > Settings > Notifications. In there is where you change the sound. Same for "most" other apps, it's in the app menu itself. To add your own custom tones you downloaded, create a folder on your SD card called "Notifications" and drop te sound in there. Reboot phone so it rescans and your new tones should be available. Worked for me
By the way, you have right ! No problem !
Only need find a way to boost external audio speaker..

For me the external speaker is loud enough. I wouldn't want to boost it any more as it borders on distortion on some of my louder tones with volume on full.
I use TTS voice (transform in MP3) custom notification.. and voice is very low !!
Already boosted using Audacity !!
Hi
I want to know if Arc S has speed dial function which unfortunately i couldint find it ! nd if not then is there any app in market that would help?

adding contacts in ur favorites wont help u in speed dials its totally a different thing !
I have found it !
u can press on the main screen, when a window appears, it will show u the shortcuts option, when u go into, it will ask u the shortcut contact, but a mother of that function is Direct dial which will take u the contact list then select ur contact individually it will show on ur main screen nd it can directly call to the specific contact, same applies to if u want to have direct text, while shortcut to a contact will past a contact on the main screen but it not directly call or speed call, it will open a small window bar rite at the top of that contact u just pressed nd will give u the option to either text or call that contact, not bad tho ! but for speed dial that direct dial is wicked ! :good:
Thnx & Regards

Hello everyone
Today I have two questions to ask everyone.
First how to create extra volume levels on the volume bar.
Second how to add more tones to notification. I want to have a new tone when I have a notification.
Thank you.
Best wishes.

I can answer your second question. Look for the folder where the notifications are stored and copy the tone you want to select there. It will now appear in the sounds when go there for selection.
Alternatively install ES file explorer (free form google play). Now after this when u try to select a tone u will get an option to browse thru ES explorer. U can browse to the folder where u have copied the tone in your phone. Select it and it will be shown along with the system tones this point onwards.

First Q goes to Q/A thread so next time care about it.
I have no idea for 1st Q
for second
Create folder on SD/Ext SD card like below mentined. I recommend on Ext SD as you may need not add again after factory reset.
Ext SD (or int)/media/audio/notifications and place media file (tones) in notifications folder, you will get those
sameways if you want to add ringtones it goes here
Ext(or int)sd card/media/audio/ringtones
place audio files in ringtones folder

Not sure what you mean by your first question, but when you press your volume button you can press the cog icon on the popup to give you more options. Is that what you mean?
speaker bost is the option u can do...go to googple play n search speaker boost
I don't know why samsunS doesn't have 'Add' button for choosing Notification sound like they does for Device ring tones. I think this is useful, too.
Thank you.
