*Please Help* -- Note 2 boot loop after factory reset. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I know there are a few threads like this, but its probably easier if i explain what I done and how it happened sort of thing.
Basically I had a phone upgrade from my Note 2 and got a Samsung Galaxy S5... So now I want to sell my Note 2 which was ROOTED, but still had the Stock ROM installed as I just wanted it rooted for apps like Greenify, etc.
Anyway, so it was a fresh phone I did a Factory Wipe/Clean from the recovery (its the purple gradient one, might be TWRP) and then I wiped the cache.
all was fine, but i noticed after the phone reset there was still some of my apps and documents on the phone, so I did a Factory Reset through the phone software itself ("Backup and Reset") in the settings menu.
Anyway, now it is stuck in a bootloop and I have no clue what to do, please help as it is money down the drain otherwise.
Many Thanks in advance.

[Q] Note 2 reboot loop [HELP]

I'm on stocked JB 4.1 with root active. I had installed some apps, like app2sd, busybox and airdroid. Just after this I did a reboot into recovery then
1) clear cache
2) clear daviak cache,
3) clear battery stats
4) fix permissions
5) reboot into system.
Just after following the above process my note 2 keeps on rebooting from Samsung N7100 boot logo to homescreen for (2 sec) and then again reboot.
I can't find a way to understand what went wrong please someone help me.
Go to download mode and flash rom again is the only way

happened to me couple of times. just took out the battery, and clipped it back again. i'm running on stock rom and no tweaks; first encountered after updating with multitasking.
for peace of mind, flash the rom and it should fix the problem. :victory:
@carlo I already tried that and which didn't work.
Later that day I did a nandroid backup and then restored to factory reset, and later recovered specific data with TB. I have used S2 and SNexus in the past and never is that such a thing happened forget Stock not even with Custom Roms.
Though I still wish to know what is triggering it to go into such kind of limitless Loop anyone?
when you restored to factory reset, did you still experience the loops? if so, might be time to take it to warranty and them check your unit.
but if doesn't, say a day of use, and no issues, then it could be triggered by something in your backed up tweaks and apps which you can just experiment on to ID what could be causing the issue.
*a friend however had similar issues like yours, but after a day or so of tinkering with his note2, we found out that it was his cheap TPU case that was causing the problem. it was a bit too tight! there were no cutouts for his volume and power buttons, so somehow the grip he has on the unit triggers the unit go wacko.
strange but true. no more issues with his note on capdase case with no changes on software and settings.
hope you get your issues figured out soon.
cheers!
@carlo: as soon as I did factory reset everything is well, no more boot loops.
I'm not using any case anyway. But I think it's because of davik cache. I'm not gonna do that again :-[

After playing with the Cyanogenmod 10 nightly, I was missing some of the Samsung Stock items so went to the Jellybean 4.1.2 Stock ROM for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (n7100) via ODIN. As I rebooted I had a panic moment because it kept looping between the Samsung Logo and a floating purple blob. So I tried going back into the Clockword MOD option (Power / Home / PowerUp) and ran a the System Clean / Factory reset. Devices then booted just fine.

[Q] Desperate need of help. Startup wizard not starting. Reward!!!

Ok guys I sold my phone on Glyde the other day and have to ship it. Basically I rooted it awhile ago and used the Cyanogen mod. What happened was that I tried to uninstall it with fiddling around on my phone and I basically just broke it!!!!
When I turn it on all it says is the setup wizard is not working and when I press ok it just keeps looping that message. I might be out of 110$ and be stuck with a useless phone now!!!! Please help me!!!!
Note I have a macbook and that is all. I am really just looking to get it working again, I cleared everything like all the caches in recovery mode and did all the resets like the factory resets/data wipe and both the cache wipes even the weird named Dilvijik or whatever in the advanced settings.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!
If you want even email me or private message me or whatever!
I can offer you a reward if you help me. IDK if that's allowed but if it isn't sorry, just email me lol.
PLEASE HELP THIS PHONE IS MY LIFE!
Factory reset and then reflash CM or whatever ROM you choose.
Alternatively you could flash the factory images to return to stock.

[Q] sgs3 with android 4.3 problems. Help!!!

okay so I have a samsung galaxy s3, I updated to Android 4.3 through AT&T and my phone has been giving me problems ever since. could someone please tell me what options do I have to fix this thing? Right now I have downloads that keep coming in that have been completed months ago and my LED flash also comes on when my phone rings. I havent done any flashing or rooting since about 2 years ago with my AT&T Tilt 2. I just felt like this phone didnt need it. I've read some other articles that say if you try to root an AT&T SGS3 that it will brick after this cripling update to android 4.3. But it's just fine to do it wit other carrier smartphones. It doesnt seem like there are any fixes on the horizon, so I feel like i need to take matters into my own hands. Please help.
I'm assuming you already tried a factory reset? But as far as rooting though I don't think it's possible currently if you did the ota update. Whatever you do don't try to Odin back though, you'll hard brick.

I'm not sure if i've tried a factory reset. The only reset i've done is the option they give you when you hold the button on the upper right hand side of the phone. Where is the factory resetet option? Also, should I backup my information before I do this factory reset.

boot into recovery to clear the cache first and then try a factory reset if that does not work.
I have read of this continual download bug, but do not have it myself
If you can connect to KIES, you can back stuff up easily , but I'd just backup contacts and stuff and reinstall the apps. Yes, a factory reset will wipe your apps and contacts, but it should leave your pics in the card and in the phone alone.. back em up just in case.

Fixed - Dead Note 7?

Hello,
I don't know if any of you have seen this on a Note 7 since its still relatively new. Do any of you know why this mean?
Encryption Failed
Unable to start up you device. The encrypt precess was interrupted. you need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data.
(And a RESET DEVICE button) which does noting but reset the device to start back at this Encryption Failed screen...
Thanks
Have tried to factory reset the phone from recovery? If that doesn't work you probably have to flash ROM via Odin.

Just wondering how serious is this? Out of all the phones I've played around with for the last 7 years this is the first time I've see this. I'm $hitting bricks!
I would try to factory reset like it recommends. If that doesnt work then time to exchange the phone.
Good luck and let us know how it goes...
Also, did you try rooting?
Yes I rooted. Alright so I managed to resolve everything THANK GOD!! I thought I was down CAD $1200 (not including customs)... Main problem was I didnt mount the System in TWRP before formatting, so no matter how many times I tried to format and install the only custom ROM available it would show me that error. But all is well after getting the stock ROM from Samsung and formatting it trough Odin.

Installing Custom ROM after "Abnormal Factory Reset"

I have an old Verizon Note 4 that I'd like to give to my wife's bed ridden grandmother. She could really use something to pass the time and talk with friends.
I wiped the phone to remove all my old stuff. I rebooted into recovery mode, wiped the cache partition and did a factory reset. When I rebooted and started to configure the phone it gave the message:
"The phone is locked because of an abnormal factory reset. Sign in to the Samsung account that was previously used on this phone to confirm that it belongs to you."
I never had a Samsung account, and I don't want to start now. I think the best course of action is to install a custom ROM. I dislike all the Samsung bloatware anyhow.
But I can't boot this phone because I can't get past this "abnormal factory reset" screen (presumably it's an anti-theft thing?). How can I install a custom ROM on this phone? Everything I've read says that I already need to have root before installing the ROM, which seems impossible since I can no longer have access to this phone's OS.
How can I proceed?
Dou you have TWRP? If not, make Odin Download Mode, put Rom Stock, and try again... root/unlock bootload/Twrp/customrom, etc
