[Q] No SIM Detected After DN3 Install - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

As the title says, I'm not able to get my Note 2 to connect to the network after Flashing Ditto Note 3. I've searched but haven't found a solution that has worked. The phone boots up fine, but shows the following under About Phone:
Model Number: GT-N7100
Android Version: 4.4.2
Baseband Version: Unknown
Kernal Version: 3.0.31-764701

I was previously using the Temasek CM11 4.4 Rom. I'm unable to connect to wifi as it says it's disabled since there isn't a sim card. I've tried:
- wiping and reinstalling the ROM
- Dr. Ketan MJ5 Bootloader via Odin, but it failed
- flashing two different AT&T UCAMH3 modem .zip's in recovery
- I have the Hurricane Modem Changer Tool on the extSD, but haven't tried it yet
This sim was working fine a few hours ago, so I don't believe it's defective. I'm hoping I'm missing something simple. Any ideas?

Did you flash the incorrect rom by chance ??
The about phone shows the N7100 which is the international version of the note 2...
I hope you have a backup...and your device partitions did not change...
N7100 roms are not compatible with N7105 or SGH-I317 unless specifically modified to work....
Do a full wipe and restore your backup....then verify that you have the correct rom version...g

Thanks for the reply! I switched to another rom, flashed the att modem, then did a factory reset and it's working perfectly except for the wifi. I can't get the wifi to turn on. It seems I did indeed have the wrong version though.

You need the kernel fix for wifi...
Depending on the rom you are running....use either devil kernel or Agni kernel...
They contain a file that will correct the issue...(param.bin)...or something like that....
The file can also be flashed as a stand alone file...but honestly...the kernel flash is an upgrade in many cases and kills 2 birds with 1 stone...
Read the OP in the rom thread you are running for more kernel info...as it may also contain the correct kernel link you need...
And be "very" careful when picking files to flash...
You were very close to a brick on that last one....g

Good to know!
I flashed Devil kernel as found in my ROM thread. WiFi seems to be working great now, but I'm still having issues with mobile data. My connection seems to dropping randomly. I am using the W03 SlimKat 4.4.2 ROM found here:

[Q] Lost firmware, stuck!

Hi, I have gotten myself into a sticky situation and I could use a little advice. I rooted my SGH-I317 Note 2 (AT&T) and installed a custom ROM. After installation, I noticed that my network connection was unavailable and I could not make/receive calls etc. My sys restore fails with the MD5 error, so I was looking for a solution to make the fix happen. I tried installing a stock ROM but I'm still showing "unknown" baseband version so I'm assuming I need a ROM with my correct firmware? Any help is appreciated.. 7:30am here and been working on this all night. I need my phone! : )
What Rom did you try to install? And baseband is your modem, you may need to try and flash the modem that you need

Whatever ROM you are using should be based on a certain firmware. That would be the modem you would flash.

Try this...its the latest modem for your phone. Its AT&T. Let us know!

Changing APN settings to " default, admin, fota, mms, supl, hipri, internet " seems to've fixed it

Flash it and find out. In the time you put all those? You could have already checked and if not flashed the older modem.

does anyone has a link for tmobile LTE modem, i can use too
also, any idea how we can get tmobile wifi calling on custom rom if it was not in the rom? or is it something only a rom developer should have added while making the rom?
thanks

Flashing non tmobile roms.

Edit: only issue across the borad is that theres no wifi calling. But nfc, data, mms, calls and text working. Incase people wanted to know but not willing to risk their phone being brocked, I've now successfully flashed a couple custom roms for every carrier including international roms. I installed rom, then tmobile csc files to get data and what not working and a tmobile based kernel. I'm currently using an aosp themed rom in the sprint forum, been using all day and no issues. Milage may vary, but I didn't want to point out its possible to flash all note 3 roms. Cheers

Good topic. I was watching a YouTube vid about flashing the international LTE type roms and it seemed to work fine just as long as you used compulsion kernel and some kinda wifi/Bluetooth/NFC flashable fix. I had a note 3 a while back and I'm getting a new one on Monday (super excited) so I'm really curious about this cuz I'd really like to have some more rom options. Is your mms working too?

Mms, data, tethering, wifi everything works. What I did learn though is that it's best to start from stock tmobile rom in our dev section then once that's all booted up go to recovery and flash the rom you want without wiping data then cc files and tmo kernel. A few roms wouldn't get data unless I placed a call 1st after rebooting.

You mean everything works except WiFi calling or is that working as well, because that would be a first, me think.

That's all you have to do in order to use a 9005 ROM on a 900T? Seriously?
Has anyone tried using one of the SM-N9005 kernels? I know on the S4 I was able to use international kernels. Not sure about this phone though

Download Darthstalker ROM and pull the CSC folder from /system/csc/ then put it in the INT ROM of your choice. I do it this way since the CSC_TMO from miscom causes PHONE app to FC when trying to make a call. I use WINRAR to open and repack ROM files.

I have flashed virtually every 9005 rom out there - and as long as you flash the Blue tooth Wifi Fix file mentioned earlier (from the stainless rom post) everything works beautfiully well.
I also use a variety of kernels - Compulsion - saber - and a few others work fine.
I had also flashed several Verizon ROMS - Hyper Drive is awesome -
BUT, I have never needed to flash the CSC files - Flash Rom - flash Wifi Fix - Flash Kernel - reboot - all is good.
Just thought I would share..
Don't forget that flashing an International Rom will wipe you internal storage.

That isn't true of custom roms.
The reason why I change CSC files is because some roms prevent you from editting the APN protocol so you can change IP4 to IP6. It's all user preference really and depends on the ROM you're using.

[Q] SGH i317 recomended modem?

Good afternoon
After working on the phone all day trying to figure out how to unlock i manage to do it flashing a roger 4.1.1 modem. The issue now is that i forgot to backup the 4.1.2 and don't know where to look for it or if i should update to a better modem if there is one better than the 4.1.2. Currently on Clean rom 5 is that matters. Thanks in advance.
You can choose from the modem list in my thread one stop. You can try the MK4, but the latest is the MK6 and those are both for AT&T btw...

Thanks for the fast reply, the one i installed was ROGERS_MODEM_I317MVLALJ2 just so i could unlock the network of the phone,i ask cause mk6 seems alot different from i317MVLALJ2.
Ok i tried the MK6 but the phone was rebooting after a few minutes so i had to re flashed the rogers j2 modem back....
This SGH i317m is from a company named Claro, is there any other detail i can provide to improve the chances of finding the right modem for my phone? i haven't tested the phone on the 4.1.1 modem yet, current version is 4.1.2.

So far i tested the phone which is a Claro note2 with the new radio modem and seems fine for the moment, i hope it works better with net10 when i move to the states. I let you know i find something bad. Thanks a lot for help.
Ok for some reason, my SGH I317 passed to be a GT N7105 as model number, is that normal when flashing radio/modem? Will it affect the phone?

Hello Bajanman,
I am also facing the exact same issue that you are solving out here, I am using at&t galaxy note 2 sgh-I317,
I flashed DN4 rom into my device, i got it all up and running. But now I am facing issues with network reception and my device also does not allows me enable "wcdma only" network mode. Is that an issue with my modem? kindly advise on this.

I tried pulling the modem.bin file from the T-Mobile stock rom put it in odin, put phone on download and installed the modem.bin and still have the same issue. When I revert back to the actual stock tmobile rom it gave me full LTE bar this rom not so much. Please help.
