Hi all, any of you using double tap to wake or any similar option to wake our nexus. The power is really awkwardly placed (at least i think so).
So.. What alternatives are u using to wake the screen??

I already tried this but i wasnt able to make it work. I am on miui v6 and so might be a kernel issue.
Anyways, which kernel do you use to make it work?

I was on stock kernel with supersu.
The program loaded a modded version of the stock.
I needed to restart a couple of times before it would do what I wanted to do. not everything in the program does work, however single touch and double touch wake up works.
Since I'm mounting the thing on the wall I went for single touch
M-kernel has this feature, try.

That is for the Nexus 7 2013 (flo/deb) not for the Nexus 7 2012 (grouper/tilapia)., although it is true that I had the exact implementation (code copied) in my kernel a while back. We let go of that mainly because it didn't work as well as we wanted it to without a wakelock being held (M-Kernel implemented this first and I copied it later; tells you a lot about me huh? ) I'll work on this in the near future, but no promises are being made.

Apologize if this already exists.
would it be possible for one of the talented developers in our forum to add an option to have the four buttons (menu, home, back, search) blink to notify of a new message, email, missed call, etc? or maybe be able to choose a button for a particular event, like menu button flashes for new emails, home button flashes for missed calls, etc.
Try noled from the market.

thanks for the replies. yeah, i am using noled as well and it works well. i was just thinking being able to have the backlight of the buttons flash as a notification instead of the screen would use less battery. does noled have that option and i am missing it?
Then use bln

BLN (back light notification) is an app that allows the 4 capacitive buttons on our phone or any other Android device to blink as a notification whenever you receive a message, missed call, voicemail etc. You can download the app from the Android market but for now it will be useless to us because we do not have a kernel to support this feature. You must first be rooted and then flash a custom kernel that has BLN enabled in order to use the app/function. I believe that a custom kernel is in the works since all Galaxy S phones had custom kernels to support this feature. Even the Nexus S (which isn't Galaxy S) supported this feature once a custom kernel was installed. For now I recommend downloading and using NO LED (can be found in the MARKET) in the meanwhile.

I keep my haptic feedback set very low. Missed message flasher seems to vibrate at the same intensity as haptic feedback so it's nearly useless. Does this happen to yours or am I doing something wrong?

Uninstall app, then reinstall! then when done go to widgets and put the noled widget on screen, then delete widget. also u can go into menu and turn it on in settings and it also has a test feature also. Plus the dev is very helpful, if u have problem look him up on xda.
Hi,
I made a app called Task Changer that works Ok at gingerbread and cm7. It has an option to root users to go_back and show menu emulating key press.
I have a nexus S and I've put a rom with ICS and that options don't work at this rom launching an exception for a not found class.
I wonder if this error is for this rom or for official release.
If you have a galaxy Nexus rooted, please try this and give me feedback about go_back action.
Thank you all!
Hi Pacosal,
I am using your Task Changer app on my CM7 HP Touchpad.
Its a great app and I would be happy to test it for you. I am getting my Galaxy Nexus on Saturday (in two days) - so once I have rooted it, I will test and let you know.
Cheers

Forgive my ignorance, but within ICS, can't you just switch task very easy with that "window" button (right side button) at the bottom?

Hi pacosal.
I have got my nexus and rooted it and i can confirm that thr go bavk and menu options are not working for me. When i set the swipe to either of these, i am given the option to allow superuser access which obviously i accept. However the swipes then do not actually do anything. I get the message at the top saying what the swipe should have done - however nothing actually happens.
The rest of the app and the other functions all seem to be working great.
Hope this helps :]
Well I want to disable the hardware key lights, or the soft-keys on the T989. I've tried searching Google, XDA, and everywhere I look the solution is either old, doesn't work, or is not ROM specific to MIUI. I'd really love to use MIUI, but the lights for the keys are stopping me from using it. Anyway, is there anyway (and don't mention Adjbrightness) I can turn these off whether it be manually or thru using an app?
I don't think this is rom-specific, but make a backup in case!

Yeah I tried it already when I first tried MIUI. It didnt work It's like no app works.
Has anyone checked out this app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...edium=organic&utm_term=experience+pro+android
Its called eXperience pro and it's supposed to give stock users a lot of customization that can only be achieved by flashing another kernel.

Personally, my favourite is the music controls tweak, the only reason I would have wanted to move away from stock

Touchwake on calls
Potential buyer here just for the touchwake feature, quick question for anyone that uses it.
Does it work when on a call (speakerphone or bluetooth)? My issue is that I use the Power button to end call feature and when I am on speakerphone or bluetooth if the screen goes to sleep I can no longer access my phone.
The touch wake module seems to give me massive battery drain by holding a wake lock, irrespective of whether I have wake lock on. Just a warning.

I actually bought it to test it out. It does wake the screen when on a call (YAY!) but it also hangs up the call as if I pressed the power button anyway (NAY )
Oh well.
Hello
I've upgraded my gpad to android 4.4.2 via lg pc suite.
In settings/accessory there is an option to enable/disable "Quick Cover", auto wake/sleep function, when case cover is opened/closed.
Everything worked on 4.2.2 but now when this option is turned off and I open the cover tablet auto wakes up.
Someone has same problem or know any solution? Thx.
Now that you mention it, I checked mine, also happens the same. Since waking, also could shut down.
Updated my VIA OTA
You can manually shut it off if you have root in /sys/devices/i2c-3/3-004b/smart_cover. Change from 1 to 0.
The address above is for the v510, and could be different, but a quick search should do the trick.
After turning off the option, my cover can still wake the device, but will not sleep the device. That is, it functions in half...

Do a search with a file explorer with root permissions and show hidden files.
In my (V500) address is /sys/devices/virtual/switch/smartcover/ which apparently is different from a V510.
