Has anyone else had a problem where the battery stays at 100% until you reboot, then it shows the accurate level? It happened to me the very first time I booted it up (before rooting and flashing Cleanrom) and it's happened 3 or 4 more times since.
It's doing it now. Battery says 100%, even in bbstats. If I reboot, it will probably drop to somewhere in the 80s, since I've been using it a lot this morning.

This happened to me last week. I charged the tablet to 100% and it didn't change at all for like half an hour. After rebooting, it was around 90%. I'm not too worried about that though, since it only happened to me once. Sometimes when I plug the tablet into my laptop to transfer files, the battery status jumps to 100% again. It's annoying, but I work around it using the usb wall charger. Once I get a notification that the battery is full and to unplug, I think that it is an accurate reading again...

I agree, not a big deal. I just wanted to know if anyone else had encountered the issue. Maybe it will be fixed in a future update.

In the morning, I take the phone off charge at 100%, and it will then drop to 90% within the first 5mins (with no use)
Sometimes it charges until 90% and the light goes green and it does not continue charging to 100%.
To fix this I have to take out the charger and put it back in, it then charges to 100% like it should.
Anyone else have this problem? Its really inconvenient, if its not a software issue, should I cal t-mobile to have the battery replaced?
Thanks
I'm not sure but try this: uplug the power, restart the phone and then charge it and see if fully goes through.
Someone here once wrote that if he restarts the phone while charging it (he was talking about the Hero btw) it doesn't register the correct battery charge!
Just a thought. If that doesn't work then call them to replace the battery/phone.
I read somewhere else that the phone does not trickle charging once it is full, so what is probably happening is the phone fully charges, then gradually loses some of its charge, though I'm not 100% on that.
Ah just found the link where I read about the charging issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=658338
I have seen mine do the same (once) except it went from 100% to 91% - literally in seconds though.
Some have said it's a bug in the Android OS (?)
I found updating to fw .11 has made a difference for me.
I also removed Sky Sports news app ( not sure if coincidence that it's ok again since doing both those)
May install Sky app again to see.
Sometimes apps can cause problems.
How do you check the specific level of the battery? i tried pressing it in the top bar but nothing....

Yep, upgrading the firmware and removing apps can improve battery performance.
I would suggest you pull out the battery a few times and then try a full discharge/charge to reset the digital circuit of the battery to improve the state-of-charge estimation.

Hello, I will try a complete battery drainage, til it wont switch on, and then see if it is fixed.
So far my full drains have been to 1%.
I will report back

I've been looking for the sky sports news app and I can't find it in the marketplace anywhere. I've got it on my old hero?
where did you get the app?
Just type sky news in market.
Ny phine only charged to 98 last night its now 94% after 20 mins. I hot it up to 100 but that quick a drop is not right. It's now 92%!
Ok, so last night I ran my phone down til it switched off, switched it on again and waited for it to turn off. I did this continuously til the power button no longer worked. I then took out the battery and replaced it. Then I put it on charge without having the phone switched on.
Turned the phone on today and it was at 99%. Its now 95% so the charge seems weak, but it seems to have improved since the 90%?
Maybe after a few more full calibrations it will be fine. I will try this for another couple of days and see if it helped.
After 2 days of running it down to 0 and charging while switched off, I got good battery life with the charge holding up to 100% quite well
So today I decided to charge it while it was switched on, and it charged to 100%, a couple of minutes later and its below 90% again!
I don't know why this is happening because it seems to work fine when charged while switched off, but not when its on.
What should I do?

Exactly same thing happened with mine this morn and I definitely became alarmed. It only charged to 99% when on and the charge fell very fast to 90% within 40mins of just standby - not even WiFi on.
So then I charged it to 99% while on and then switched it off disconnecting and reconnecting the charger. Turning it on 5mins later, it was back at 100% again. Browsed web using WiFi and updated all apps and widgets for 22mins continuous before it dropped to 99% this time. Been fine since.

interesting because I can't seem to get rid of mine!
T-mobile think its a problem with my battery and are sending me a new battery to see if that fixes the issue. I will post back with an update on the topic when I get the new battery in a few days.
On the phone keypad, if you dial *#*#4636#*#*, you will be taken to a testing menu. In this menu there are options to see phone and battery information as well as usage statistics for apps.

Same thing I described above repeated itself this morn except that the charge dropped to 93% within 12mins this time - on standby with airplane mode and no WiFi or Bluetooth enabled. However, It's held steady after that. I poll battery charge, voltage, temperature and usage levels using the Testing notification icon (I use the BarControl app).

Is something running? When you're plugged in, you're still running off the battery. Mine only goes 100% if it's in standby while plugged in.
Nothings running at all

Turn off the phone and let it charge.
If that doesn't work, pull the battery and let it sit for 2 minutes
Yeah, I'm having the same issue. Also read a few others were as well. I'm going to try and recalibratey battery. Ill keep you posted.
+1 to Nibrs' comment. I would shutdown the phone completely, let it take a full charge WITHOUT the android OS running, unplug the charger, remove the battery for a few minutes then boot the phone back up. After it's been up and running and settled in, plug the charger back in once again. It could take 30-45 minutes to finish this last trickle charge.
I've had this issue since cm9 alpha 1. Don't really care.

Alright, are calibrating didn't work ( might of helped battery life tho) it charges to 100% only when my phone is off. As soon as I turn it on, its at 99%. I miss my blue led.

Mine will be stuck on 99% for a long time also but mine will eventually say 100%. It has to do with how the battery is charged. Once it gets to a certain point it only does a slow trickle charge to maintain the battery level. So for the 99% part it's supposed to do that but you shouldn't have those heat issues. Did you flash a new ROM recently by chance?

Since GB my phone has done this same thing. I just figured its an ICS thing...really if u think about it, ur phone is at 100% while charged...u unplug it and it is using battery so you're at 99.999 percent off the bat...seems like the phone just doesn't round less than whole numbers.

You're not actually fully charged when you unplug it. It would be in the 90% area because it doesn't constantly charge the battery. It stops once it gets to a certain point and then will start charging again once the battery hits a certain minimum level.
Well, took almost 12hrs of charging but finally got to a 100%. Btw. I'm on blu kuban rom. Not sure if its a ics bug or a battery issue. Never had this happen in stock.

I think it is supposed to float between 95% - 100% to avoid damaging the battery.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Don't know if this a factor but had this happen today on ff09. Battery jumped from 54% to 10% on one reboot (phone was hot)... Rebooted again and back up to 26%.
Got home, plugged in on LG cord to 99%. Changed to Sammy charger, finished 2 hrs later.

How many cycles have you gone since flashing? I have been on blu kuban for over a month now. I update the instant I see an update. Most times it takes around 3 full battery cycles before I see decent life. This last update seemed to take longer than usual to see normal battery behavior. First I would try draining battery to 5%, run battery calibration script in the updater then fully charge and calibrate again. If it continues I would recommend the standard restore to stock and reinstall.

So my battery was at 59, plugged it in the charger. Went up to 60, and then to 100 so then it stops charging. But then I use the phone for a little bit and it jumps back down to 60. I've never had this problem before. Any ideas? Oh and I'm using the stock charger.

Tried a different battery?
have you tried just booting your phone down for a bit remove the battery and then trying again?
Have not tried a new battery yet, but I did try removing the battery for a while and putting it back in. I even reinstalled juggs rom. Letting it discharge right now and gonna try chargin it see if it works
EDIT: Let it fully discharged then removed battery for 10 mins. Seems to have fixed it.
EDIT 2 : nevermind it just did it again. FUDGE!!

I'n not an expert. But I had a thought...
Did you by any chance did battery calibration?
And possible your battery was at 60% not a 100%.
Because battery calibration needs a full battery in order to calibrate. Also if you have CWM(ClockWorkMod) get in and try to clear battery stats.
My phone has done this once. What you need to do to fix it is once it says its at 100% unplug it and wait for it to drop back down. Plug it back in and keep doing that until it is actually at 100%. Its a pain in the ass but it fixed it for me and has not done it since.
Factory reset/data erase should do the trick if nothing else works.

Damn. Well I'll try a reset and if that doesn't work I'll try this. Thanks. Also I noticed even though it jumps to the 100 it still is charging. Last night at 23 it jumped to 24 then 100. Left it connected for like 15 minutes and when I unplugged it, it went from 100 to 32. I left it overnight and today when I woke i unplugged it and rebooted. Battery was at 92. So I guess its not that bad but I still want to fix it

Nevermind... I'm Tired and thought you were talking about a different issue...
I'm having some odd battery issues all of a sudden. The other night I fell asleep without plugging it in and it got down to 6% . I plugged it in for a few hours. When I checked it I realized it hadn't charged at all but the indicator said it was charging. I unplugged it and replugged it and left it for an hour, it got to 22% then I turned it off so it would charge better . When I turned it on about an hour later it was back down to 4%. Its not the plug or my charger I've checked everything. I managed to get it to 50% by unplugging and plugging it in a few times but it took nearly all day. then I left so I charged it in my car and got it 80%. Last night it charged fine in that same plug. Its been fine until today at work i rebooted and it dropped from 46% to 16 when booted back up. Other than that I'm getting great battery life. Anyone else experiencing anything like this ? Or know what could be causing it ? Any help would be appreciated.

Bad battery maybe, have you checked to see if it got moisture or if its really hot or bulging? If it seems fine I would start by flashing a stock rom after you can get it up to at least 50% and go from there.
I have AOKP milestone 6 running and have the same problem, what I did was just reboot the phone every time it got stuck at 6% while it was still plugged in and then it resolved itself. I also had the indicator stuck at 4% once too. Most likely the battery is still charging but the indicator just isn't working
Yeah that's what I did I just kept rebooting and it finally charged. But now all of a sudden its getting hot 2 days later

Hello everyone.
Past couple of weeks I have been having issues with my phone battery. No matter how much battery I have left when ever I play some game or edit photos my phone will all of sudden drop from 70%(or any given point) to 0% and switch off. At first I thought my battery was not calibrated so I drain to 0 and charge to 100 while it is off for couple of times but problem still occurs. Also when this happen my phone charge only upto 80% and stop charging until I unplug and plug back in order for it to charge100%.
Is there a way to fix it and how could I check if my battery is bad?

First, battery calibration is basically a placebo. It does nothing nowadays.
The whole thing about waiting a few days after installing a new rom or firmware so that the battery can "settle down" is real though, but is only because the new firmware will be doing a lot of background stuff and thus drain the battery more than usual.
Second, the only way to tell if your battery is bad is to try a new one. Unfortunately.
Based on your symptoms though, your battery is DEFINITELY bad. I'd recommend either sending the battery out for warranty, or buying a new one. Or both- you'll end up with 2 new batteries that you can swap out if you're a heavy user.
FYI Warning- apps that claim to scan and repair your battery are scams. There is no way to scan your battery. It isn't a harddrive.
Just thought I should warn you before you get desperate.

Been having similar issues with mine as well. My phone will show about 20% or more left in it, but then the phone ships down as if it was completely drained. When I plug it in, it will show the battery is dead. Also, like a little whole ago, it showed 25% left, but when I plugged it in, it went to 12%. It also continued to drop even while plugged in and showing it was charging. I did a battery pull, cleared the cache, then rebooted. It showed 18%, but only 23 minutes left to full charge. I did another battery pull, and it now shows 1 hour and 43 minutes left to full charge.
Like you, this has been going on for a few weeks now off & on.
I had problems a little while back (not as bad as these). Mine would die with the percent showing around 5-8% remaining. I took the battery out, held the power button for about 30 seconds, then continued normal use. I read somewhere that doing this somehow helps. I don't know if it's true or not, but now my phone doesn't die until it hits 0%, so something did change.
