Hi guys,
Just bought this a half hour ago. I have the G2 so I already know I want to root it. What should I do? I haven't turned it on yet. I'm guessing it will OTA once I do. Is that bad? Should I root beforehand? Any advice is welcomed!
Just turn it on, it wont take the OTA unless you tell it to.
Cool. I heard you can use ioroot 25 with 4.4.2. So I'm upgrading and I think I'll root then.

That method worked for me. Tablet is now rooted and TWRP custom recovery 2.7.0.1 installed successfully. Can't get any ROMs to work well, but I already have a thread on that, so I won't hijack this one

I know I could, I just don't know what's safe to freeze and what isn't. I know there's a Malladus 4.4.2 coming and I think Jakeday debloats it a little.

Oh it runs great. I just left it stock with root so I could back up apps and whatnot. And get rid of ads.

Just wait til the update is torn apart and deodexed. If you want 100% stock, then ODIN a stock tar/md5 on the day of the OTA

I was just thinking that same thing, great, now I gotta put my phone back to stock, update, and re-root. But then the XDA snob kicked in and said "why isn't there a leaked ROM on here already deodexed lol?" So spoiled. I'm sure there will be a deodexed version posted Wednesday, if not earlier. Our devs are pretty quick on getting stuff like that out, especially THIS update. This is the version everyone has wanted, wifi calling combined with multiwindow

What they mean is... wait for a dev to work their magic fingers on this update and then just flash that. No Odin back to stock and upgrading(ota). This will make it much easier and faster.

I want to just run stock with root and have it no longer say I'm modified.
Anyone know the correct order to achieve this?
I'm guessing I need to flash non custom boot manager, then use triangle away? Then take the ota?

Unfortunately no since both of the other Tab 3 variants use different CPUs. Think at this point it may be some time before anything gets going on the 10.1. I'm not really sure what the stigma is here it seems to be a pretty good performing tablet would be nice to have root to remove the bloatware and make better.

I don't think that it's necessarily a dead device just need someone to actually take a look at it instead of believing that theirs nothing good about it. From what I've seen so far it seems to have good battery life and not half bad in performance either and contrary to what I've seen in the reviews the GFX performance it actually also very good as well it beats my TF700 pretty solidly though resolution may be a factor there.

Good afternoon.
I came upon a new tablet GT-P5200.
Really looking forward method to obtain root ...
Build number JDQ39.P5200XXUAMFC
Development will start on 10'1
Im working also on stock rooted rom, and trying to get a recovery as well.
I don't have the device yet, so if you have it, and gained root... I would like some files:
recovery.fstab
graphics.c
postrecoveryboot.sh
If someone is able to get those after you have root, and get them to me... a CWM recovery is on the way

Has anyone gotten this app to work on Verizon HTC One? I love the ability to nandroid without booting into recovery, but when I go into settings to choose backup location it doesn't see previous backups.
I emailed devs a few months ago before this phone was supposedly supported and they were not able to help. I see the Verizon One is now listed so I was hoping it would work now but I am still having issues. Maybe someone else has figured it out?

Actually u did try it again after finding a method that works to get the phone back running in case it gets stuck again. U indeed get root with www.towelroot.org and works fine. Just one thing that somehow isnt linking it is the freege app to the a recovery going. It freezes up after reboot and won't come back on. So i would say yes root it but u have to be aware that putting a recovery on the phone can possible brick it. But ur fine if u root only and u can also put superuser on it and such. Recovery won't work over rom mananger and freege doesn't like the rooted lg g pro a lot.
