[Q] Stop s-pen detection? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't know how to put this nicely in words so forgive me if its hard to follow, but here goes:
When, in the settings in touchwiz, one checks the "disable spen detection when pen is docked" setting, what is the code or what changes in the scrips or system files to disable the detection?
I want to be able to disable detection because I've noticed that the screen drains my battery too fast in CM11 (and any other non touchwiz ROM). I feel that is the digitizer "listening" for the pen.
If I know what files are affected I should be able to use tasker to activate and deactivate the pen detection when I remove or insert the pen.

I've been following your post, hoping for an answer too. I have wet hands often and would get alot of use out of a true hands free phone.
So far in my research, the answer is No.
Not very useful to have voice commands that you are required to use you finger to activate...

someone will have to make an app that links the proximity sensor to wake up command using s-voice .....not impossible, but a dev needs to work on it....and sorry i am no dev
Great Question
I ran into this issue with the blue tooth headset.
I use the security screen with pattern and discovered that my blue tooth headset will not dial out when the screen is locked. I dug into it and figured out that it was because it uses the s-voice app to provide the prompts.
I'm not sure, but I think Google has provided hooks for applications to work when the screen is locked, but you do have a security puzzle. If S-Voice can override the screen lock, you just defeated the purpose of the screen lock.
What we need is either a simplified S-Voice that only accesses the known numbers and nothing else, or a special mode you can easily place the phone into that enables the full S-Voice app to override the lock-screen, like a car mode, that you would enable and disable as needed. Has to be easy or you won't use it.
Thoughts?

S-pen other functions?

I was wondering if anyone knows of an app or way to set it so removing the spen launches s note AND sets the phone.to speaker when on a call.. it would be so seemless to be talking and someone asks you to jot down info and just pulling the spen out gives you note page and speaker until you reinsert it and continue call

That's a really good idea. You should patent it
There's already a setting for the note to pop up when you remove the pen so you're halfway there!
Thats an awesome idea, if it ever get programmed i'll use it

He's working on an automatic keyboard switching app when s-pen is removed... shouldn't be too hard to add in the functionality of speaker phone when removing the S-pen. It's pretty easy with the SDK.

[Q] Toggle pen detection

Is there an toggle app or an easy way to toggle pen detection?
I have a full sized bamboo stylus that works great and fits my hand better, but in order to use it, I have to leave pen detection on, which will drain the battery when not in use, so I like to leave it off. That means, in order to use my non s-pen stylus, I either have to remove the s-pen to trigger pen detection, or navigate through 3 or 4 menus to turn it on manually each time. It'd be great if there was just a toggle or even an app to do this automatically. And no, running tasker wouldn't work since that'd just automate the screens most likely.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd also like to know. I thought about setting up something with Tasker. But the S-pen hardware triggers do not seem to be supported.

[Q] Deactivate s-note auto launch when pen detaches during phone call

I have a Tasker profile launching an app when I detach the s-pen, but when I'm in a call and remove the pen, it still opens up s-note. How can I disable this?
I've deactivated everything related to the s-pen in system settings and I still can't find a way to turn this function off.

NFC functionality with screen off

In the last two updates of his ROM Auras76 removed the ability to use NFC while the screen is off, has anyone found a way or any software that specifically enables that function?
I am not sure if someone can post the NFC apk file that has that function and is compatible/unchanged to work with MM v6.0.1.
I am rather desperate to find a manner in which that can be achieved as I tend to keep my phone in my pocket and used to simply tap a NFC tag against my phone without removing it, but now I have the tedious task of removing it from my pocket and unlocking it to initiate a programmed tag sequence. Annoying!
