I have tried the Garmin USB2 ANT+ stick with my Moto X and I wanted to share the results in case anyone else is looking for this info.
-Tested with the Garmin ANT+ HRM strap and Endomondo sports tracker app.
Set up was quite easy:
1. Connect USB2 stick with USB OTG cable
2. Open Endomondo, ->Settings -> Accessory Settings -> ANT+ Sensors
3. Follow prompts to install three ANT+ Services from Play Store (ANT Radio Service, ANT USB Service, ANT+ Plugins)
4. Put HRM on - it seems like it will only turn on and connect when it is broadcasting your heart rate
Notes:
- Garmin USB stick must be version 2 (labelled USB2) for it to work
- I took a quick look in the Runtasic app settings and I don't see anything indicating support for ANT+ sensors
- I have don't have any other sensors to test (pedometer, cycling speed, cadence, etc)
- Moto X is running Android 4.4.2 Rogers/Fido release, not rooted.
The beta version of endomondo supports Bluetooth smart. It would require an upgrade of your hrm but it is cleaner.
Pretty sure I have that exact Garmin HRM. I just need to pickup a usb cable so I can try this. Thanks! :good:

Hey.
I did my first run with the SW3 paired with a Polar H7 using Ghostracer. It saved my heart rate the entire run but I couldnt see it while running.
I saw in the settings that you can edit the interface for running but it requires the pro app.
Is the paid version required to show heart rate while running or did I miss another setting?
angwar90 I can't answer your question mate but have one of my own to ask you lol. Can you use the Polar H7 and Bluetooth headphones all paired at the same time with the SmartWatch 3?

Yes, you can use both at the same time. The watch and Ghostracer also supports combined devices (HR+Headphone) such as the Jabra Pulse.

In order to customize the Android Wear Screen via the settings in the Smartphone app, you need the paid version.
You can also change the data fields on your watch by pressing long on the fields.
However I highly recommend the paid version, as it's a great solution for the SW3.
The paid version also offers unlimited ghosts.

dear friends
i have a problem with my android wear swr3.
I would like to run with ghostracer on my sony smartwatch 3 with paired my Polar h7 heart monitor in a STAND-ALONE way.
I updated to the last firmware the sony smartwatch software and i install ghostracer on my android virtual machine.
the problem is that in the app in my android virtual machine there is NOT the voice and the possibility to check the pair from HRM H7 and the watch in wearable settings in the app.
I have the last app version 0.9.4.4. Could someone confirm that this possibility is still available in 0.9.4.4 version?
thank you
Hi all,
Based on gsmarena inquiry, compared to S7 Edge, HTC 10 lacks LE and ANT+ support.
Anyone has a depper insight, on drawbacks for no support for those connectivity standards?
tnx

i can confirm that ant+ works with htc 10. i have a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor that both works with htc 10 with installation of ant+ service from play store =)
my garmin fenix 3 is connected to 10 using ant+
Are you all 100% sure that ant+ works on htc 10 ?? Not in the official ANT+ library... Have a Sony X performance dual but willing to sell mine in order to gain Ant+ functionality back...
I can confirm that I am able to pair my Garmin ant+ heart rate monitor to my HTC 10 via the Strava app. Strava prompts you to download two programs from the playstore. Once I had those and rebooted Strava, I was able to find my ant+ device and pair.
I'm both excited and bummed because I just bought a second heart rate monitor with Bluetooth connectivity, because I assumed my HTC 10 was not compatible with ant+. I guess the official ant+ library is not correct in leaving our device off the list.

It definitely has LE
It does
I confirm that HTC 10 supports ANT+ and Bluetooth LE. For ANT+ one should install "ANT+ Plugins Service" and "ANT Radio Service" from Google Play.
I've bought CooSpo Heart Rate Monitor from AliExpress that transmits both BLE and ANT+ signal simultaneously.
When I connect the sensor from Strava app, it shows my heart rate monitor as two separate devices, one for ANT+ and one for BLE. Then I can choose and connect any of them depending on what protocol I wish to use.
My HTC 10 CID is J15 and I'm on 2.41.401.3 stock firmware.
So, while other manufacturers and reviewers shout loud about their devices ANT+ support, HTC just silently does the job.
You can install ANTTester from Google's Play to check Android device capability and install appropriate software(s).
Hi guys,
I recently bought a cheap smartband that has a heartrate sensor.
I bought it for running and I assumed that I could connect it with runtastic pro just like any other smartwatch.
The smartband comes with its own software called VeryFit (v.2.0).
and heres the wierd part : My sony z2 (Android 6) can perfectly find the Smartband however the pairing always failes but
the app can find the device and connect to it without listing it as a connected bluetooth device in the settings menue (which would be
the requirement to use the smartband with runtastic)
How is that possible ? Any idea why a normal pairing fails and how I can fix it?
thanks in advance

Hello, just bought a SW3.
Does Google Maps work with the built in GPS? I noticed that it starts to look immediatly for the phone...also is it possibile to move the offline maps I downloaded to the smartwatch internal memory? How does it work? I am new thanks.
I've got an LG G5 which is affected by the GPS hardware issues (ie GPS is non-existent) - my SW3 works fine in maps when paired to this phone so would guess the watches GPS is working well. Guess it could be using the phone to grab location via phone masts, but not as slow as phone location so doubt it.

In fact I was wandering if it was possible to use the smartwatch alone for running, with its built-in GPS (and perhaps offline maps loaded) but without the 4G connection of the phone.
Sony said the point of this smartwatch was to leave the smartphone at home, but I saw that the location doesn't fix if the smartwatch doesn't connect to phone first (Bluetooth and 4G).
Am I doing something wrong?

I have two of these devices. In order to use the google fit stand alone gps, i suggest that you turn off your phone or BT connection between the phone and watch as well as the wifi setting on the watch prior to a run. When you go outside, turn on the google fit app and wait a few moments while you warm up, this will give the watch a chance to lock into GPS. Then all you have to do is start moving and the standalone gps will work. The problem with google fit is that it so dependent on communications between the phone and device as well as not having a gps locking icon. I prefer to use Ghostrunner app for the sony smartwatch 3, its completely independent from the phones gps and has such a setting in the app to force the watches gps to work over the phone.
Thanks and what about google maps? Can it be used in standalone for running? Just for mapping andò routes
And what about runtastic? Can I use it with position on the phone turned off but watch GPS turned on? Apparently it doesn't work for me
I use mine for running and I use Endomondo. I just use the watch GPS on its own and after the run it syncs via bluetooth to the phone. I've heard there has been issues with this but with my LG G4 it's all worked fine.
Does anyone know how to use the smartwatch in standalone with Google Maps tracking while running? It searches for the phone connection everytime...do I have to turn BT off or follow specific steps?
thank you in advance

What do you mean? Maps doesn't record your path, if that's what you're after.
If you want to see yourself on a map, including your trail where you've been, use ghostracer. You can also load a gpx path and follow it on the map, but it doesn't give you navigation instructions, you have to watch for the turns yourself.
Navigation is in osm offline maps, but I never had much luck with it.
Greetings, I have had my Oppo A52 for about 12 months. I'm a keen cyclist consequently use a bike computer and my phone to record my riding activities. My speed annd cadence sensors are ANT+. When I first got the phone I downloaded appropriate ANT+ app from play store to pair between my phone and sensors. Up until the previous OS update all was ok but now I cannot pair the sensors with any of the Apps I previously used.
Could someone advise me how I can get ANT+ to pair with my phone apps.
I normally use My Workouts but when that wouldn't work I tried, Jepster, and IP Bike (IP Bike have there own ANT+ app which wouldn't pair either).
The ANT+ apps installed are ANT+ Plugin manager, ANT Tester (This indicates that The phone is ANT capable because ANT Radio and USB service and ANT+ plugin are installed)
I have corresponded with the developers of My workouts but they are unable to determine why the app wont work.
I know that my sensors are operating because i have replaced the batteries and the indicator lights are operating as well as my normal bike computer.
Thanks in advance for your help to get thing happening again.
