After two years away from Desire i'm back !!
One device came into my hands with the following problems.
No booting. Stuck in HTC green logo.
Stock recovery not working, remains on HTC green logo. (The same happens after flashing from fastboot a custom recovery)
It has unlocked hboot from htcdev with version 1.03.0003.
It has CID TELUS001. (I tried to PB99IMG.zip to reinstall TELUS rom and after check of the zip goes back to hboot menu)
By RUU with GoldCard gives error in RUU.
The fly in the garbage ?
I think you'll have to search for a guide how to downgrade hboot 1.03.0003 first
I've not done it myself, but seen guides here.
Then flash the 2.3.3 GB RUU.
finaly with some attemps (5 or 6) with 2.3 Gingerbread RUU the device worked fine.
BUT it suffers with overheating problem... works only in refrigeration.

Hello everyone, I have a HTC Desire neverlocked, rooted and s-off, I flashed many roms, reverted to stock without any problem. The thing is I had the new hboot 6.93.1002 from alpharev i recently decided to revert to stock rom. My problem is that i hadn`t read alpharev`s warning "Downgrade protection, these HBOOTs cannot be overwritten by an OTA or RUU, unless you flash a downgrader HBOOT first." and after running the RUU I am now stuck with an unusable phone as i cannot boot into hboot or recovery to repair the damage. The phone works it is shown under device manager, it starts it is also charging but nothing else. When running the RUU it flashes everything but the system partition and then displays the htc logo with four exclamation marks in the corners.
Please, is there anyone who can help me in this matter?
Thank you in advance,
This might help you

I finally solved my problem, the truth is i got a bit scared as i never had problems i couldn`t solve by myself. It took my a while but in the end i managed to flash my hboot to bravo_downgrade.img by using fastboot commander.
Hi,
I looked at similar threads but couldn't solve my problem, which is;
I was using custom rom with data2ext tools without any problems. I just realized that although my RomManager's Clockworkmod recovery version was 5.0.2.0, i see 2.5.0.7 on the recovery screen. Then i found that my desire went to S-ON back.
While i was trying to make S-OFF, i used AlphaRev, first step was ok, then it restarted the phone, saying "waiting for bootloader". Even after the Hboot screen comes up, it didn't get further. I tried another tools, such as Revolutionary, but it says "Hboot 0.83 is not supported". I can not use fastboot tool also since i am S-ON. When i try to flash anything (recovery.img, boot.img etc.) it gives the famous "...malformed.." error.
So now i can only enter HBoot and Fastboot screen. When i enter recovery, it freezes on HTC Logo on the white screen. When i restart the phone normally, it again freezes on the same screen.
Thanks in advance.
Do you have a Desire GSM? If yes, flash 2.3.3 RUU and then use Revolutionary.
Swiftkeyed from ICS with Transparent XDA App
Yes, i have Desire GSM. Now i am downloading the RUU exe. I hope the correct one
Ok. After a bricked sd card, i made a new gold card Flashed a WWE RUU via PB99. Then root, s-off. Now i am able to install anything
Thanx again
Heya! I tried to go back to Stock completely. And probably messed up big time... I simply downloaded a Europe RUU from Shipped Roms and installed it on my Desire.
This is the RUU I downloaded: http://www.shipped-roms.com/downloa...io_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121684.exe
My HTC Desire is from Denmark, in Europe, if that matters
So, it seems like everything was installed correctly and it ended saying that it'd reboot my phone, but now it doesn't get past the logo.
I try to boot into bootloader (I think it's called? ), the power + vol down, and I can get into that. But I can't fastboot or boot into recovery... So not sure what to do from there...
I've used unRevoked to s-off and root my phone. I've been running CM7 till now.
Please help

Try with 2.3 RUU, or try bortak's guide.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
Bortak's guide? Do you have a link? EDIT: I was looking at this; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275632 - but I can't see what stage my phone would be at.. :/
- As I said, it won't get past the HTC logo, so the computer won't recognize it. I can't install a new RUU, I tried... :/
I don't know where I can find v. 2.3 either, I couldn't see it on shipped roms
As I said, I am stuck at the HTC screen, but I can load it up into bootloader, and when I try to go to Recovery, it just starts up at the HTC screen again, stuck.
First post hboot/fastboot screen info
2) was phone s-off prior RUU?
3) Is your phone recognised in fastboot mode via USB cable? -boot phone power+back button to fastboot, connect USB cable and run in cmd or terminal "fastboot devices" without quotes-bear in mind htc sync must be uninstalled and unrevoked drivers installed.

Yeah, my phone was S-OFF and rooted when I tried to install the RUU
This is what my bootloader screen says:
-Revolutionary-
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-021d
TOUCH-PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11
Aug 10 2010, 12:52:18
HBOOT USB PLUG
then the menu.
I get the Android Bootloader Interface pop-up on my computer when I plug it in in Bootloader.
I have uninstalled HTC Sync, but not sure if my UNrevoked drivers are still installed. Trying the power down + back button, this is in power + vol down.
When I have it in fastboot (Went from the power + vol down to the fastboot option.) it pops up as "My HTC" in my device management (I'm on Windows 7 64-bit)
It says that fastboot is an unrecognized program when I try to run it from CMD.
My desire says "FASTBOOT USB", surrounded by red color.
Have you downloaded fastboot? Go to bortak's guide and download it from resources, fastboot.zip
Sent from my Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e
Then download hboot downgrade from alpharev.nl, folow instructions there then you can run RUU, use 2.29.405 WWE, if not branded

Okay, I installed the fastboot from Bortak's guide, installed Android SDK as well (to be safe) and went and did the alpharev.nl stuff. Flashed HBOOT Downgrader and I installed the WWE 2.29.405 RUU.
Everything's coooool and working it seems!
Thanks man

I was struck in this same situation about a month ago. First of all My desire was S-OFF with stock hboot at that time. This is what i did at that time:laugh:
You need to go to alpharev site and download the Bravo Downgrader. Download Fastboot commander from the forum. And boot your desire in fastboot mode and connect it to pc. And flash the bravo downgrader file via fastboot commander. And then you can install any RUU assuming your desire is unbranded if not you need to make a goldcard.
Hope this helps.

Hey there,
i actually own a Htc sensation, but my cousin wanted to s off and root his desire, which went all fine.
Now after a year, he wanted to send in his Desireto maintenance, and asked me to to return everything to stock. According to the guides, it was said that is would be sufficient to simply flash a stock ruu to S-on und unroot again.
I flashed the stock ruu via pc, and followed all the instructions. It says flash successful and i can use the desire again.
There goes the trouble, the phone wont boot up anymore only white boot screen with htc logo, no bootloop or anything similiar, all i can access is the bootloader ?
Am i missing something ? can someone help me out please ?
The bootloader says the following :
REVOLUTIONARY
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT 6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL SYNT0101
RADIO 4.05.00.11
This is was it given after flashing the officiall ruu , recovery cant be started anymore as well
any help would be appreciated
First you need to flash downgrade hboot from:
www.alpharev.nl
And flash it via fastboot.
Then download 2.3 ruu from htcdev (you have an explanation how to get in my signature) and run it from your PC. Then you'll get s-on and stock and working 2.3 on your device.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Flashes and Thunders
That did it, thank you !
Hi,
This is how you downgrade a Desire/Bravo with the HBOOT 1.02.0001 already installed, - this method is appropriate for people who need to downgrade the HBOOT for unlock purposes. I struggled for ages on this and once I found the method thought i'd post it around the internet as I couldn't find this info anywhere.
-Summary of steps-
1)Turn S-Off + Update HBOOT
2)Downgrade HBOOT to 0.93.0001 (Turns S-ON)
I have personally tested this and it worked perfectly without any problems. However flashing anything to your phone is done at your own risk, & I accept no responsability for your device.
--Step 1--
Download and run the Revolutionary tool here http://revolutionary.io/ to turn S-Off - Follow the steps on their website for how to do this if you get stuck.
Once you have run the Revolutionary tool, when it asks if you want to install the Clockworkmod recovery press no.
You will now have an S-Off phone running HBOOT 6.93.1002
--Step 2--
Format a microSD card, download the following zip file and save it to your memory card.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/dyyn35zm07x2x7a/PB99IMG.zip LINK UPDATED 2 JAN 2013
You should now have a single file on your memory card named PB99IMG.zip
--Step 3--
Put the microSD card back in your phone and hold 'VOL+DOWN + ACTION' and press the power button to get to the HBOOT menu. Wait around 10 seconds (give or take) and the phone will detect the update and ask you to install it, Select yes to install then reboot your phone back into the HBOOT menu.
You will now have an S-On phone with the 0.93.0001 HBOOT
--Step4-- IF THIS STEP APPLIES TO YOU FOR UNLOCKING
Unlock with XTC-Clip as you normally would - Creating goldcard with 0.93.X001 HBOOT.
Your phone will now be unlocked.[/QUOTE]
NOTE: You can do the official updates through the phone as normal without loosing your unlock
Hope you find this info useful
what ruu (PB99IMG) is it?
what if someone has an orange branded phone, coz there is no ruu for it and they would need a goldcard.
what about people from different regions coz theres different ruu's for different regions aswell and they would need a gold card.
edit: its a hboot.img, thought it was an ruu.
did u try this yet? does it work?
normaly when u change hboots u have to format partitions. if u go to the trouble of getting s-off then why not just run the correct ruu for ur device, just to be safe.

Hi,
It souldn't matter what network the phone is on - The HBoot was taken from a WWE RUU & I tested it with a UK Vodaphone branded desire which worked. I used this method to unlock a 1.02.0001 phone which isnt supported by xtc hence the downgrade needed. You shouldn't need a goldcard for the downgrade part as running the revolutionary tool will switch s-off, after applying the downgraded hboot it will turn s-on but as you will be on the old 0.93.0001 hboot you can just create the goldcard with xtc and complete the unlock if this step applies to you - it probably does as I dont know another reason for downgrading to this HBOOT.
Running the downgrade will wipe the phone - it did atleast with mine.
The reason I couldnt run an RUU to downgrade the hboot after turning s-off is because revolutionarys tool adds some protection to prevent hboot flashing via RUU & fastboot. The only way I could find to do it was to flash it directly from the SD card.
As for the other regions you may be right and need a local hboot - I'm not able to test this as I only ever get UK phones to unlock. If it is the case the HBOOT which you want to downgrade to can always be extracted from a local RUU and added to your own update.zip (named correctly of course) - The network branded phones on the other hand should make no difference - as s is off, so a UK orange, vodafone etc will take the hboot from WWE RUU aslong as s is off. (This is why its neccessary to run revolutionary first)
Hope this info helps.
cool. just so u know to unlock the hboot 6.93.1002 u have to flash the Alpharev downgrader img, that way it can be overwritten by an ruu

Hi,
Thanks for mensioning that, I did actually run the Alpharev downgrader as part of the process but completely forgot to add that step ( I wrote the tutorial after doing it not during ) With me though after running the alpharev downgrade the hboot still wouldnt downgrade from the ruu - also tried manually flashing with fastboot but got various errors (something to do with usb something or other - maby it was just my usb's playing up again as they occasionaly do) so for me I still had to do the sd card way but if you find it works for you with the ruu then even better.
For anyone getting stuck, do this step after running revolutionary - Just download the Bravo Downgrader from here http://alpharev.nl/ and run it before continuing with the rest of the steps.
i always use PB99IMG awsell, my laptop dont like my phone haha

desire with broken volume keys
hi friends, I found a HTC Desire bravo at the flee market and bought it thinking it is actually a nexus-one... a nice phone with lots of nice futures in it after a charging session the phone boot up and it was alive back again. with one problem the volume keys was not working.. ı dismantled it and cleaned up as it is described in xda forums and didn't worked so i made a little check and found the thin foil attaching the volume keys to the main board was broken since there is no way to fix it without changing the main board and i had no intention to pay lots of money on it i left it like that with one problem; no way to boot in to recovery from start... after couple of days i found i didn't liked the rom on it i decided to change it, there was no problem since i could boot it to recovery using the restart menu which the ROM had since it was rooted but i made a mistake and fell in to a boot lope the only way to boot it back was the adb commands but phone couldn't start up so no debugging mode only fast boot so i tried many fast boot commands to boot in to recovery with no success after searching forums i found lots of desire bravos around with the same problem.. so i used ruu to reboot it properly the only ruu worked for me was the official 2.3.3 update ruu ''RUU_HTC Desire Android 2.3 Upgrade (Gingerbread).exe'' the phone booted and working now but no s off and no root and there was no way to root it without the volume up and down keys i was stuck with the useless unrooted rom so here how i rooted the phone without the volume keys first you have to download ''DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip'' and run it in USB debugging mode after that you have a working recovery partition to install a recovery bin using fastboot or what ever( the problem was after the update i lost the phones recovery partition and couldn't get the state s-off even i am s-off there was no recovery partition... since i am not good at commands to re format the boot loader this could be a life saver so i decided to share my experience... afterwards you can boot into recovery since you have a recovery partition you can push any recovery to your phone i think zergrush tool is not intended to use with bravo that why no body mentioned it in the bravo forums ops i forgot the say i used alphadevs methods and software to gain s-off on my phone before using zergrush i hope this will hwlp people like me stucked with non fonctioning volume keys
