Caseology has a lot of sale on their TPU cases, but I haven't found any good reviews by anyone who has a S3. So does anything have these cases? How does it compare to other TPU cases like Diztronic?
I have one, its matte black with a rough texture on the back, its a great case. It protects the phone very well. My only gripe in the back of the case is unusually thick. You would think that the back needs the least amount of protection. I would recommend it.

I like the looks of the case but I fear lip around screen is not too big(based on Amazon reviews).. Been searching for another TPU case to replace my Zoogue case from time to time but I havent found any TPU slim case that has a lip as good as Zoogue
Could it be possible for you to take a picture with your phone in the case that shows lip size ?
Also, how does it feel in hand, slippery or not ?
Thnx in advance :good:

Thanks, it looks good. You mentioned that the back is thick, is the overall case really thick though?
The feel in hands is great I have no complaints for that the textured grip adds for great stability, also if your like me, some cases make it impossible to put in pockets, my case fits fine. No shoving in pockets required it just slides in like butter.
The lip on the phone is not super thick but it does provide enough thickness so your phone's screen isn't flat on the surface if the screen is facing down. The lip covers the metal bezel on the front, it doesn't cover any of the glass.
The back is thick yes, I don't think it needs to be. I think the main reason is the place you can put a business card in case your phone is lost.
Sorry if photos are blurry used my newest old phone Samsung galaxy s 4g only has 5 megapixels

I personally think this is a terrible case. The back is super thick and there is virtually no lip in the front. I bought it and returned it.

Case-Mate Tough Case
I've been very happy with my Case-Mate Tough Case.
As to case, Otterbox all the way. The case looks, feels, fits and protects the phone great. I reccomend it 100%.
For screen protectors, I've been using the ones that came with the Otterbox. However, I hear great things about the ones made by Zagg, Casemate and Real Look.

Case Mate tough case - Soft shell under a hard case. Not too bulky but really makes the plasticy vibrant feel sturdy. People say you don't need a screen protector with the gorilla glass, but I have a zagg screen sheild - very happy with it.

I love the body glove case from Tmobile. The ruggedized case makes it feel substantial and the clip, wich is removable, adjusts to any direction and acts as an excellent grip in both portrait and landscape. Also the clip has a kick stand wich works in both portrait and landscape too, making it so you have no need for a docking station at all. The post wich the clip connects to can be replaced with a block out that looks seemless and adds just another nice functionality of case. Clip and kickstand still retain spring after almost 7 months of heavy use. The raised outer bezel is just high enough to protect screen but virtually unnoticable when operating device.
BTW This screen has no need for a screen protector. The protectors are actually more scratch prone than the screen. Theres several videos on you tube attesting to this(it basically took a utility knife brought directly to bear on the screen to even scratch it).

Does anyone have a favorite case that they'd recommend to someone looking for one with good grip? Something that doesn't slide off tables as well as hands, and wraps around the front to protect from front facing falls. Also does not make the phone resemble a grenade... The d30 seems highly recommended here but people say that it's very slippery. Thanks!
Sent from my SGH-T989
trident probably makes the best case as protection but dies add some bulk to it the cheaper d30 has some grip to it.

I like the cheap TPU S Line cases that can be found on ebay for around $2.50. The sides have knurls that let you have an amazing grip on the phone. It's thin and wraps around the front as well. If you like blue then go for it. I have the black and blue and blue is def more "fun".
s line case
I have to second the above opinion this cheapo case has some grip for the sides. I noticed that it does not slide on the back either. Hope this helps.
I normally suggest that people stay away from TPU cases as they offer minimal drop protection. I have a d3o case myself and yes ut was very slippery (super smooth) when I first got it. Over time though that slippery-ness went away.

I bought the white bodyglove one from the TMO store. I have dropped this phone more times than I can count and no damage. It also slides easy into my pocket, but for some reason doesn't slide out of my hand. One piece and not very bulky, worth it to me

Anyone know of any TPU cases that have a nicely raised lip that would protect the screen? All of the TPU cases I've seen are just flat around the screen and shattering it is what I'm worried about most.

I've been considering this one but I'm a little unsure. Do you think it's raised enough to prevent the screen from hitting the ground if it were to fall facing down?
Yes I have this case and several others. It would protect it from scratches but its not really impact resistant so the screen would probably break. I use my casemate tough 90% of the time. It offers better protection than any TPU case without adding much weight or bulk.

I have the same matte black Diztronic case linked here, and it has protected my phone through 2 falls, one of which was on the screen. They were both from pocket height and one of them was onto sharp gravel. Phone still looks good as new. If I were to buy another case though, it would be the gloss smoke one. The matte one is kind of slippery, but it is better than the phone alone.
If you want uber protection, buy an otterbox defender. I've seen a S3 wearing one take a dive off of a second story roof onto a concrete sidewalk and the case wasn't even scratched.
I've been using the standard diztronics cases for a while and then a few months ago I started using this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007AXMF62
The white really does look sexy on a black phone. The Cimo S-Line has textured sides as well so it's easier to hold on to. I've dropped the phone a few times in the parking lot at work and have yet to take any damage. Great cases
Anyone bought this case from eBay and would like to share their two cents on?

Thin!! :good:
$5.99?? I got the 0.3mm cases at $1.50 each.
There's also a thread discussing it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2604742.
I have this case, it is very thin, its not TPU but still flexible. The finish is quite good, there weren't any sharp edges on the two black ones I got. The black one isn't see through. I wanted to get a clear one but they were out of stock, but from my previous experience with white/clear cases they discolour extremely easily.
It does get scratched, I have a few minor scratch marks on the back just from putting the phone in the car's cup holder, glove box etc. but you do need the right light to see them.
The case has raised edges around the screen such that the screen wont touch a table when placed flat on top of it. These edges also trap a lot of dust and make it hard to clean.
After a while dust gets under the case but so far it hasn't caused any damage to the phone.
Overall its a good case but you should think of it as a sacrificial item that'll degrade through use. Also, don't expect it to save your phone from a drop. It'll protect the phone from scratches at most.
Hope this helps you guys decide whether to buy or not.
Didn't like it
I bought the case you're talking about. I didn't like it very much. The fit is mediocre. The button cutouts are small, so it's hard to push the buttons. The main issue is that it just doesn't feel good to touch. The material is similar to the textured plastic you get on report covers. Most of this was mentioned in the thread someone linked to above. For me, the quicksand cases are way better and only slightly bulkier.
It looks nice

I'm using this, it's soft plastic. Not even a hard case. So don't expect any protection on shock.

What are some good cases for the phone?
I really like my Nillkin Natural TPU case. there are a couple of other threads with cases and pics.
that clear right? doesn't that interfere with flash when taking pictures?
Nilkin Frosted Shield case recommended.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/20134158223...49&var=500540193931&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I have both of these cases as well, and they are both excellent choices. I wish the clear case was a tad thicker, but I like that my phone's back cover is viewable through the clear case (so pretty!) and it doesn't add extra bulk.
Unlike some silicon cases, it has a smooth finish that won't stick to your pocket (it also might slide out of your hand easily enough, if your hand is damp).
There is a cutout for the flash, so I've not noticed any issues with it. The covers for the headphone jack and usb connector are a nice touch as well, but the usb cover on mine seems to not want to sit completely flush. Not a huge deal to me, even with OCD.
I like that the clear case covers the bottom edge of the phone, whereas the matte case leaves it exposed. The bottom edge of my phone already seems to have some wear because of the exposure.
That said, I really do like the feel and color of the matte case (I have red), and it fits a little more snugly that the clear case, IMHO.
I'd like to see a heavier duty case, something like a Griffin Survivor style case with 2-part rubber and hard plastic component. Unfortunately for now, the Nillikin cases aren't going to afford your phone much more than scratch protection but they are nice to hold and are better than nothing! Definitely pair with a nice tempered glass screen protector, if you can find one that fits well, that is...

I've read there are issues with the Rearth Ringke Fusion case and the camera's flash. Have you experienced problems in that area?
The Ringke clear case creates a nasty halo on photos whenever you use the flash --- much worse than the Nilkin (halo is barely visible). I still prefer it over the Nilkin case because it feels much sturdier: like it'll actually protect my phone *if* I drop it. It doesn't have a USB port cover on it unlike the Nilkin, though.
The Nilkin case just feels too flimsy for my tastes. I also don't use the flash on mobile phones anyway... most of them are too harsh.
If you really want a subtle highlight when taking photos, have someone else use their mobile's torch app to shine on your subjects

I am happy with the nilkin, actually dropped two times and it did its job (thankfully Murphy played nice on me and it always fell on a corner, if it would drop dead flat, screen first, I am sure it would be dead). The back texture helps holding it in my hand, plastic rear cover of 550 is very very slippery also not much bulkier than stock (already bulky and heavy phone).

Sure, it doesn't protect the device while it's in my hands, but I have more problems with phones when I am not holding them.
I have the Rearth Ringke Fusion and it does add a glare to pics if the flash is on but good thing I rarely use my flash. Looks like a simple fix just cut the piece of plastic that separates the flash and camera but other than that great protection for the phone for now.
Another happy user of the Nillkin Natural TPU, it's an excellent fit and adds very little bulk to the phone. The edges make it much easier to grip the phone as well. Best case I've tried so far.

Yesterday I dropped the phone from the sofa, about 1 meter, it suffered no damage. I'm using the original Asus bumper case. It's a bit expensive, but has a very nice finish.
