so after i updated i cant get my MSL with the dialer code. anyone know a way to get it now?? im having connection issues and i want to change my network order.
thanks for any help
Simple. Call sprint and ask for it. Just say you want to change your EVRC settings. If that rep wont tell you then hang up and call back. The next rep will. Then write it down cause it never changes.
sprint is being thier usual selves with this again, I called back numerous times and there is a "policy" with "criteria" now that must be met..if you call and have no luck, there is an apk here that I used to get it on my S4 and it worked like a champ.. couple links

or you can search on "spcutility.apk" there are few more threads around with it linked too
Try this..
This dialer code ##443336772# will flash a toast notification on the bottom of the screen with your SPC/MSL code.
The dialer code didn't work for me either. The way I got it was by following this guide:

Hope this helps

The dialer code will not work on 4.4.2. Nor will the spcutility.apk. One way to get the spc is by downgrading to zv8/zva ( you need to have diag mode enabled though) and using the above dialer code.
Oh, I'm on 4.2.2. Guess they're locking things down tighter than Fort Knox in 4.4.2
Thanks for the heads up.
New Method
I just found a new method of getting my MSL/SPC. I'm on a Sprint G2 and on the latest 4.4.2 update.
This method requires CDMA Workshop.
1. Put phone in download mode (vol up and power button)
2. Use CDMA Workshop's security tab to write SPC to 000000 using LG method.
3. Reboot. ##3424# does not even ask for SPC now.
4. Use CDMA Workshop's security tab to Read SPC using LG method.
5. Use CDMA Workshop's security tab to write SPC to 000000 using LG method.
Hope this helps!

That only works if you can get Diag enabled which requires MSL/SPC so, not really helpful unless you already have what you are looking for
Custom Launchers
Not really. Using nova launcher you can directly go to the enable/disable diag mode screen. Hope this help. Just figured it out yesterday. Doesn't work some times though. Tried again and finally did

have you seen this thread Sprint /Verizon/USCC S2/S3/S4/ Note 2/Note 3 to Page Plus / Selectel Flashing Real 3G?
I think I have it figured out. I don't need the MSL, I needed the 16 digit password which was 01F2030F5F678FF9 or 2012112120131219.
I am selling my SGH-i317, but am unable to SIM unlock the phone with the unlock code that AT&T provided for the IMEI.
When pop in a T-Mobile SIM, the phone asks me for an unlock code. But it refuses to accept the code with message: "Network unlock request unsuccessful".
What could be causing this?
Here's a history of my phone:
1. I have used it with a custom ROM, so the KNOX counter is tripped.
2. I was on a rooted UCUBMK6 ROM with TWRP recovery.
3. I used Triangle Away and unrooted.
4. I then used Odin to flash back to UCALJ2 with Stock Recovery (unrooted), using this tar file: KIES_HOME_I317UCALJ2_I317ATTALJ2_215287_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
5. This gave me stock recovery and stock ROM. KNOX still tripped, custom ROM counter=1
6. I then used Odin to flash the UCUCNE5-Stock-No recovery. I assumed that the stock recovery from the UCALJ2 ROM would work as a "match" (?).
7. Device now reports baseband version I317UCUCNE5, build number KOT49H.I317UCUCNE5. Kernel 3.0.31-1728680. KNOX still tripped, Custom ROM counter=1.
But the unlock is a no-go. What gives??
Have you tried the before method?

No..thanks for the tip. My menu doesn't show that option, probably removed in later ROM versions. But I found this YouTube video that suggests flashing back to an older modem, then following that method, then flashing back. Worth a try...will give that a go.
This helped me unlock my device....

It was probably mine. I had the same issue and I got my code from cellunlocker.net.
I was on SlimRom and it was not working. I finally went back to the official rom for one final try and it worked.
This is what I did. I'm not sure if just trying the unlock code would've worked but I did follow these steps (it's a bit weird since you don't actually change anything, maybe it forces the phone to refresh something.)
Just make sure you are on official ROM or it won't work (I tried only the code with the SlimROM and it did not work).
After unlocking I went back to SlimRom and then CM and it was always unlocked.
1. Make sure that the phone PROMPTS for the code with a NON accepted sim card and that your IMEI is correct by dialing *#06#
a. Go to the Dial pad and dial *#197328640#
b. Please click on number [1] UMTS > [1] Debugging screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] NETWORK LOCK
c. You will see 3 options
d. Please click on number [1] Perso Sha256 INFO, the screen will change slightly
e. Please hit the MENU button then when the menu pops up please carefully hit BACK to return to the previous screen
f. Next Please click on number [2] Perso Sha256 ON, the screen will change again to a one line message
g. Restart the phone on the screen by holding the power button and click RESTART
h. When the phone prompts for the unlock code simply enter the unlock code provided to you
i. Your phone is now permanently unlocked!

This method worked for me.
FYI- my situation (maybe it'll help others): I bought a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card for my spare GS3 just to see if it would work. I contacted AT&T and they provided me a SIM unlock code (took about 2 days). However, it did not work! 5 days later, and they still haven't figured it out! I decided to take matters into my own hands. After many many hours of research and trying all sorts of methods I believe whats happening its that people are trying the dial pad method and setting their Perso Sha256 to "OFF". If you've done that then unlock codes will not register correctly... So get and unlock code, then set it back to ON following the steps above. Hopefully that helps others..

Great to hear!
My Note 2 broke. I bought another one and added it to my account. IEMI is clean. However, the hex on the sticker is different than the one in the phone's settings. Apparently, someone flashed it to another carrier.
Does anyone know the dialer code to access engineering mode on the SPH-L900? I need to change the IMEI either 1. back to the original one or 2. to my old phone's IMEI number.
I tried rooting it and that didn't help. I used Odin to bring it back to stock after wiping the system CLEAN and it still didn't fix it.
HELP!!!!! please =)
Well you ate talking about cloning which xda does not like us to talk about. First you need an older modem I use lj1 second you need Samsung's 16 digit code (look on this forum for "how to flash sprint n2/n3 to boost") it is in second post. You also need your msl, dfs, and tw based ROM. Put phone in diag mode (##data#) enter msl and make sure under PDA it is set as DM any extras are fine but DM must be in it. Then connect to windows PC running dfs and change the ESN to whatever you want. DVD will need 16 digit code and msl to allow you to write.

Hi All,
Please help.
Goal:
- unlock N910P for domestic US (I have MSL code from Sprint)
- do not want to root
Details:
- account and phone is paid
- Sprint gave me MSL saying it is my unlock code
- 5.1.1
- has been reset to factory and cleared cache
- I watched a few videos saying that I need to put a different carrier sim in and it will prompt for the MSL code to unlock
- I have tired 4 sim from T-Mobile and AT&T, 2 are working sim from working phone... none will prompt for code
- I tried ##3282# which get me to manual settings but I am not sure if I should mess with it
- invalid sim for T-Mobile and AT&T but works fine for Sprint
- I read that it may work with Kit Kat but I cannot downgrade without root
Thank you all in advance.
Please let us not get into the debate of carriers and GSM/CDMA. I just need help with the unlock portion. Thank you again. :highfive:

You couldnt downgrade to kitkat even if you were rooted. Youre on a locked bootloader.
yup, I concluded that after a few hours of testing... tried several rev of Odin3 and several OEM ROM... all fail to auth... was hoping as last option that root will work but didn't plan for that route...
Are there any options to get the prompt for domestic SIM/carrier unlock? Whether auto or manually?
The only paid unlock service I see for N910P that guarantee it is on eBay... are those trustworthy?

I get that. I am, otoh, straddling that fence atm. I prefer root, but I just got the Note 4 so I spend my day cursing at the ads and playing "I wish, I wish..." Soon, very soon. :fingers-crossed:
Only way to get it running is root and GT

Hi there,
Try these:
Method #1 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press #7465625*638*# Once prompted for code, enter the 8 digit Unlock Code.
Method #2 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE# (you can try this method only if you already received the Network Unlock Code)

I know it has been a whie since you posted this, but the first method prompted me for network unlock key but the key sprint provided me was only six digits. and they actually provided a second one after the first was unsucessful. the second had no better results. Any hints?

I'm sure there's some way to use your msl to unlock, but I don't know how.
But if you give up, I used www.idoneapps.com
I used him and worked flawless. They have good support too.
I think you need to flash pc1 firmware or below to unlock but after you unlock you can flash anything else. As long as you don't disturb your efs partition you'll be unlocked. (But this requires root)
Hope you figure it out without having to pay, but if not, they're great.
Here , this will take all your problems away ?

Unless ... for some weird aşş reason it doesn't work with your phone ? Then just look up on Google a secret dial code to force the network unlock code input for whatever phone you have
So I got an LG G5 from a friend who worked for Otterbox, he had a bunch of credit built up there so when he quit he got some phones and gave one to me. I was able to get it unlocked without TOO much hassle but didn't realize I needed an MSL code to change the APN to work with my network. I've called sprint a bunch but they don't wanna help unless I have a Sprint phone number. What can I do? I really don't wanna have to use this great phone without Data or MMS...
Probably need to go into a sprint service cebter and ask politely for the msl

Here is a guide from the old LG G2 days however I am fairly certain this was what I used when I got mine. You need the Basic Flasher method the dial code won't work. Oh and use the current LG drivers instead. Check here. It's pretty simple to figure out. And by unlocked I am guessing you mean sim unlocked eh?
the guide geeksmurf linked is how i got mine.

Hit me up on kik CB6767 I can give you your msl, I have access to all that info
Hi, i send u a Kik msg, thanks!
I have an MSL code but now way to add an APN from APN menu
If you know someone who has a sprint account, have them activate your phone online and then just swap back to their phone.
They will get an email with the MSL code for "manual activation" - kinda handy.
ya i was gunna say if u have an extra sprint phone just log into mysprint account. activate the extra phone then u can activate the g5 back and when it comes to t he congratulations screen it will tell u the activation code and say u may need this. that is the msl. keep in mind u have to give it some time to swap back and forth because the sprint database has to update and all. usually if u try and do it right away u get an error because the original phone is still showing up on the screen.
u shouldn't need the msl code to add apn though. i unlocked my sprint g5 and added the att apn through the normal settings menu and it saved it just fine. u have to look at the other data settings though and allow gsm i think.
