Hey Guys ,
My friend got a LG G2 last week its a great phone , fully loaded awesome features , the one that i like must is the Quick remote app is there any chance that Gnex can get that sweet app ? its also works on wifi disable Tv aswell or non smart tv we can say , is ther any app or mode ?
NO IR Interface, NO Party!
If you have direct TV or Netflix both apps work as remotes

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the SmartShare app that comes with LG phones to work with the S3? Just got an LG smart TV and want to use this feature. I did find an APK, but it just force closes after installation with the message 'manufacturer not match'
I'm not sure on the implications of this and I would check but I suppose you could alter thebbuil prop to saybthis is an lg phone and not a Sammy.
Check first as I have no idea of it's problems etc

No it never will and never was! Works with LG's verry well, don't get the OP's point why he wants the SmartShare app if AllShare can do the same...
DLNA is a standard so should work with ALL DLNA capable products!
Only screen mirror and that kind of (non_DLNA) functions will work per brand...
I actually find BubbleUPnP better than AllShare too as you can assign a different video player app - take a look at that if you're not a fan of AllShare.

No Allshare app is only for Samsung devices for now. Samsung wants to include other brands too eventually but for now all Samsung devices can be connected thru it. My LG smart tv is not recognized on it and just like allshare, LG has their own Smartshare. OP can still use DLNA directly on S3 to connect his TV but allshare would only work with Samsung devices
I have actually patched the manufacturer check but it crashes on my Nexus 7... I will share apk here so you can test it on your device.
NOTE: I do not think this is going to work on any device exept LG becouse of some kernel modules that are developed by LG and included only in their phones.
Does not works :crying:

Anyone
Does anybody have the list of devices supported by QRemote app.
It doesn't work with my Dynex TV, Roku, or WDTV. So far its been useless at my house. Perhaps it'll be fun to use outside a bar on Game night. Lol

That just happened to be an LG TV. Qremote doesn't work on any of my TVs at home (Akai, Westinghouse, Panasonic).
The version of QRemote that i'm using has around 1400 brands on the TV section alone...
It works with all devices i pointed my phone at.
I was wrong. It does work with all of my devices, but it is a weak transmitter.

My wife has the lg flex and I have the g3. I loved how her phone could control most of our devices without learning from the original remotes(which we lost). It was a bummer when i tried to control my sons dvd player(they destroyed the remote) and couldn't find a dvd function like on her phone. Any ideas other then learning the code from her phone? I fig its the same version of kit kat on tmobile like our phones and lg so maybe they would be compatible.

That's good to know, do you feel it's worth the $7?

I definitely think it is. It works much better than the built in LG remote app on my TV and I even have a LG TV.

Does it handle smart tv stuff pretty well? I think this is where the build in app fails...I can turn the tv on, but trying to navigate around netflix or amazon can get a bit tricky...
I'd like this also. One area that HTC is brilliant is in their remote app and the way they integrate your TV guide. I wish LG's remote wasn't so vanilla.

Even using the magic remote function? That's why I've stuck to the stock remote because I can use the same "mouse pad" function from the lg smart remote app right in the built in app with my LG TV.

No, it won't use the magic remote function, which is one of the main reasons I like it. I absolutely hate the magic remote and the fact that there is no input button on the remote. WTF? I switch between 2- HDMI inputs all the time and with the magic remote or LG app I have to bring up the input screen and then select which one I want. With smart IR I have buttons for each HDMI input and can switch between them with just one button press. The ability to do this is worth the price of the app to me.
I was wondering if their are any good Remote Apps for the IR blaster with its own TV guide. I tried the Smart TV but it doesnt seem very user friendly. At least not compaired to my last Phone HTC M8 the stock remote app for that was awesome. Is their anyway i could just find the APK for the HTC remote or would that even work. Thanks for anyone who responds. I appreciate your time.

I use smart remote, it has WAY more features than I even need (you can even create macro commands, chaining them together to one button push. No TV guide though. I looked and couldn't find HTC actual apk for their remote software. It might require root to install it even if you had it, but I don't think so.

Samsung Watch On is my favorite. Look in the play store

I use Smart Remote as well. I do have TV Guide. Works Excellent.
There are several apps that have smart remote in the name, Which one are you using?
The 6.99 one has the best reviews.
I use anymote I think it is the best out there however it is quite pricey for the premium version but I definitely think it was worth it. The ability to customize your own remote to have the volume go up and down on your stereo system, channel buttons for your cable box, power for your TV, turn on your ac all on one easy to use remote is great.
PS don't work for the company I just hated watch on.

I also use seriesguide as my TV guide. It is more keeping track of the shows you want to watch over whatever is on TV.

guys just wondering, what's the best Dongle for screen mirroring for LG G3?
I had the Samsung All Share Cast before on my note 3, but it wont work with LG G3.
Basically I just wanna be able to play videos from my LG G3 on the TV and Youtube.
Would Chromecast work? or Roku is better?
I have chromecast and miracast works like a charm from day 1 when I got my phone. It is official supported for G3. Also other cool apps like netflix, youtube, chrome, play music all access, etc. work with it.
Chromecast works with any android 5.0 for 4.4 and before you can try an app called Mirror-enabler (search for it here in xda) I have 2 unofficial supported devices working with it (galaxy s3 mini and xiaomi mi2s).

Thanks for your input.
Im deciding between Chromecast or AmazonFire Sticky or the EzCast by Measy
I'd recommend Chromecast, you can not only 'cast' from apps like youtube, netflix, etc, but you can also Cast your whole screen (Actual screen mirroring) for games and whatever else. Not sure if amazon, etc do that.

oh cool...
is there a lag or delay in the casting?
I know this is old but miracast now works for the Roku 3, which blows the chromecast out of the water.
Hey guys.
Did not want to create a new thread, so I'm resurrecting this one.
I'm a g3 user with an smart TV. I do have a generic slim port adapte which works fine.
What I'm wondering is, I'm still not sure which is the best way to play videos on. TV. I couldn't notice the difference between them.
Slimport
Miracast direct wifi
Phone connected to TV over USB and the smart TV plays the video.
What are the pros and cons of these 3 methods do you think?
Thanks in advance!
