So basically, the only thing holding me back from purchasing this tablet is the limit of its space. Samsung loves to pack their software bloat and usually ends up using a few gigabytes out of the box. I had a nexus 7 2013 32gb but the screen was unresponsive (the grounding issue). Anyways, I don't wish to root (having little knowledge and almost bricked in my gs4 after rooting). And even if I use an SD card, android 4.4 doesn't allow 3rd party apps to write onto the SD. I know samsung has a 32gb variant out there, because when I chatted with them online, they accidentally sent me a link to a 32gb variant (which is available in some Asian countries I assume) so all in all, when is the USA 32gb GTP 8.4 coming?

are there any differences between the Japanese version SC-04D and the general version i9250, in terms of rom flashing, root method and future update?
If there is not, I am going to get the galaxy nexus tomorrow! thx guys!
I have an SC-04D (Docomo Galaxy Nexus). I was already able to root mine using the standard methods and install clockwork recovery, but haven't tried any custom ROMs yet. One thing that is different between the Docomo version and others is that the built-in tethering option is missing in the SC-04D, which is one reason why I'd like to install the standard google rom.
Thx for your reply, btw is there any sim lock for this SC04??

I assume that you can read Japanese, here is a small comparison site:
Look at Pocketgames.jp blog entry 19811
Hope this helps. About SIM Lock, I'm not sure, don't have other Sims to test, but I got my SC-04D with a red NTT Docomo SIM card, which I have not seen before yet, in the past there were green, now there are almost white, but red?!?!
Just curious, there is a lot better Japanese devices why choose Nexus? (if you are in Japan)
Emama,
your are right!
But I'm using the Nexus as my secondary phone (main is WP7 Omnia 7), because I wanted a Android phone without all the carrier's customization, and of course its Android 4.0 and has a big screen. My only other option was the Docomo GALAXY S II LTE SC-03D which has better specs as the Nexus.
As my Omnia 7 is a SIM free model (not official Docomo phone) I'm basically outside of the Docomo's high speed network with my contract, because I do not want to pay 8000Yen a month for that high speed support(its 128k now for 315Yen), but with the Nexus I can compensate this very much.
If possible I'm using Wifi hotspots. Most of them are free now.
@sakuhei
The Docomo Galaxy Nexus is instead SIM Lock, but can be made SIM free in any Docomo shop. Price is 3000Yen.

Hi Floodguy,
I'm a tourist in Osaka now, and I heard the Galaxy Nexus is in very cheap price now, so I want to get one and bring to my own country.
The problem is, I can only see the phone in Docomo, that I have to buy it with a service plan. Can I simply get a phone only?
I don't read or speak Japanese so it's extra difficult for me. Please help! Thanks a lot!
Does anyone know if the docomo galaxy nexus work with tmobile/at&t without rooting? I see that it is a lot cheaper in Japan than US and want to get one, but not sure if it will work here. Any help will be appreciated!!

I got my docomo GN yesterday straight from Japan. I have to root the phone in order to sim unlock the phone. I'm in Canada and tried using Fido and Telus sim card and they both work fine to connect to 3G network.
When I bought the 16GB Note II, as maybe with most of you storage nuts, I had buyers remorse....because I actually use and need the space.
Although hard to avoid thinking about the possibility of when the 32GB would release, I kept waiting and waiting....and waiting....and until this day, nada....16GB it is with the Note II....
Will the S4 follow the same path as the Note II in just making available the 16GB variant?
IMO I have a feeling there may be a 32GB (even possibly a 64GB) for T-Mobile just because of how epic the S4 is compared to its siblings....
It all depends on how well the 16GB version sells. Since they are trying to get people to buy devices outright, they may be more careful about storage sizes, especially with expensive devices like the s4

i was told it would be available on the 15th of May. Of course the source of this info was lowly T-mobile call center rep. Has anyone else heard this?

Hello all. I am brand new to XDA and the Tab S (and really tablets in general). I have read in anandtech and many other sites that the Tab S (8.4 and 10.5) will come in both 16 and 32gb versions. At present I can only find the 8.4 in 16gb and I saw only one 32gb variant available for the 10.5 on BestBuy.
My question is: does anyone know if the 8.4 Tab S will be available in 32gb? Also, will a 32gb variant be substantially better than the 16gb version available right now?
Thanks for your help.

Probably not. They haven't even released the 32gb variant for the tabpro 8.4 or galaxy s5
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a 32gb iteration. Just get a big SD card and put all of your media on that.

Thanks guys for your responses. On some posts in cyberspace I saw that users were concerned that the OS takes up a great deal of the 16gb and that, as a result, there would be inadequate space for apps. I dont have a clue if this is true and that prompted me to ask about the 32gb version. Have you had this "bad" experience of not having enough memory for apps? My understanding is that when you put a microSD card in the tablet, that the OS wont use it for apps. Im not sure if that is true or just rumor.
Again thanks for your help in sorting this out. Much appreciated.
Samsung Australia has the 32gb version up for pre-order on their website. They say it'll ship on July 14th.
The part numbers are SM-T700NTSEXSA for bronze and SM-T700NZWEXSA for white.
Why Australia but (apparently) nowhere else? I don't get it.
Alright... So basically... I was on holidays in Dubai over the last few weeks. And, over there, I was lucky enough to buy a note 7 SM-N930FD, from an official Samsung store. I had bought the phone on the 28th of august.. before the recall. Now I'm back home, in the UK, reading about the note 7 recall and have absolutely no idea how to proceed. I don't want to send my note 7 back to Dubai because I'll have no phone in the meantime and it just seems like a lengthy process. Is there a way that I can maybe get my device exchanged here in the UK? Or what are my other options?

Samsung UK are being pressed to replace the handsets with local variants. If you don't mind a UK variant you should have no problems. (Initially Samsung refused to swap at all!)
A few have said that Samsung service providers are exploring swapping out for the same model but I can't see that working. Most companies of the world only swap out a device for the local variant available in the country you're doing the exchange.
contact Samsung is your best bet......
accept the local variant, thats all
The fastest way is to directly contact a Samsung
Its easy tho, I purchased note 7 from Kuwait now I am in India (my home country). Here, Samsung delayed sale of note 7 that means till now no official launch of note 7 nor they have started any recall (obvious, they haven't sell single note 7 here). Now my question is how should I go for replacement? Help

Thanks, fortunately one of my friend went Kuwait today so I send my phone with him. :victory:
Got a call from Samsung UK. Basically stated they can swap the dual sim phone for the one sold in europe so single sim - coral blue or black.
Asked about getting the dual sim as replacement and they said I would have to sort it out with the region the phone is bought from - so Qatar in my case.
Might just get the UK version with its two year warranty

I was interested in the Honor 7X, but did not like 32GB storage, even though I could add SD card. Saw that eBay had a Chinese version, which is 64GB and 4GB RAM. Wondering if anyone has bought one that way and used in US? I use Tmobile and they are listed as working, but wonder if they have all the LTE bands? If not could be poor cell reception. Also do you get software, security updates regularly? Warranty? Any info would be appreciated.

Otherwise I'd buy a US variant and use it here. Bcs Chinese version has no Google play built in
