[Q] Recently flashed stock ICS... now rom manager freezes... - Samsung Captivate Glide

and therefore i cant boot into recovery. it will ask me if i want to, i put ok, and it just freezes there. however its not doing anything as when i press the screen, then hit the home button several times, it will just go right back into home.
using the power button and up button boots into odin mode.
i didnt root this phone myself so im not sure what to do next.
im trying to delete the cache currently, to try and reinstall a game so it will work properly (currnetly giving an error when trying to log into facebook thru game.
this will be a huge deal if i ever want to flash another rom as i cant get to the recovery screen at all.
i did read that upon flashes, that CWM can dissappear, so i reflashed that using odin and rebooted. still the same thing in rom manager, i allow it to reboot into recovery then it just freezes there.... but able to access the home screen again.
any advice????

Also now cannot send text messages, but recieved the test message that Koodo sent me. can make calls and send photo messages. very odd.
and frusterating because now my old phone isnt sending texts either.
Found out how to get back into CWM, had to use the fix permissions thing.
Now to figure out the mystery of the unsending texts....

[Q] major confusion

hi all, my wife has been running cm6.1 and lately it has had a few issues, so i go to download through rom manager, it fails downloading several times, download on a computer and transfer it over, boot into recovery through rom manager(i feel retarded for this one... no back up, didnt wipe) and install, well, it goes to the cm boot animation, sits for a long time, then i remember i didnt wipe so i attempt to get back into recovery and wipe, well, some how, the phone managed to go back to the stock recovery... needless to say i became very very confused...
does anyone have any insight?
thanks in advance
If you havent s-off, then you probably will see stock recovery and need to flash the update.zip to get to clockworkmod. I think i remember that right.

i finally did get cm 7 up and running, and in rom manager it says that i have the latest availible clockwork recovery, but i can only get to it if i rebot to recovery through rom manager, if i go through the boot loader, it takes me to the black screen with the ! in the triangle, then after several button pushes takes me to stock recovery
This happens because ROM Manager reads the altered 'update.zip' from your SD card and it is recommended you use that program (app) to do all your loading and ROM stuff. Though if your phone is powered off you can hold Volume Down and power then after getting to the Triangle "!" screen pressing volume up and power gets you to altered 'update' screen.

[Q] application installer not responding after factory restore

My dad's S2 stopped recognizing the sim card, so I tried doing a factory restore. This is a completely stock phone (tmobile). So after it booted up again, I get a completely black screen except for the no signal bar and clock in the upper right hand corner, and after a few moments it says "application installer not responding, close? options Wait or Ok". I tried both no change. I am trying to get it into download mode and it will not go, I have tried the volume up volume down combo like 20 times, battery in first, battery out first, not sure when it's supposed to be recognized by the computer but it is currently not being recognized period.
Any ideas as to how to get this into download mode or back to stock? Not sure wth happened, but it's driving me nuts. Again not custom work done on this phone whatsoever. I just want to get it into download mode so i can reflash the stock rom with odin, but it is NOT letting me do it. I can, however get into recovery mode, but I don't think that really helps me at this point. Thank you all.
Bump. Anyone have any ideas

Did you ever figure out a solution to this? My story is very similar, but the phone wouldn't recognize the sd card. After hanging during boot, I factory reset and flashed and then got the same message.

[Q] Phone is going nuts!!! Help!! PLEASE!!!

Ok so, I have been running Hyperdrive RLS16 for quite sometime now with no issues, going on approx 6 months now. Love the rom. Just today out of nowhere my phone started timing out. By timing out I mean, screen started going black as if I was closing it when I was in the middle of using it. This proceeded to happen for at least 15 minutes meanwhile it was constantly rebooting itself as well. After about 15 mins of reboots and screen timeouts, it got to where the phone would not stay on. it would boot up, then when i started using it it would reboot again. So after a battery pull, sd card pull and sim card pull I restarted it and since it seems to be doing ok for the moment. I immediately backed up my rom in clockword mod recovery through rom manager, backed up all my apps and created an update.zip in titanium backup. I downloaded the stockmod slim rom t999 4.3 v3 and the uvuemj4 modem that it requires for data and was gunna try and flash it and everytime i boot into recovery and try to select an option to pick, it randomly starts selecting things and jumping all over the place and then reboots. wont let me wipe data factory reset, or wipe dalvick or cache. wont even let me choose the rom or modem to flash. I tried to update my version of clockwork mod, and nothing. Tried to download goo manager and try twrp but it wont go into twrp it stays in clockwork mod and does the same. Im so confused on what to do to fix this and would like to flash a new rom to see if it will fix my screen timeouts and reboots but I cant get recovery to cooperate in order to do that. Can anyone help me? PLEASE!!!! I thought maybe if i try clockwork mod touch that it may fix the problem, but even if i download it how can i flash it if recovery isint cooperating?:crying::crying::crying:

It sounds like there would be a problem with your digitizer. Or motherboard. Either way it sounds expensive to fix.

The touch response is working fine though, and the buttons work fine. But it randomly scrolls all over the place in recovery and selects things on its own even when Im just holding it in my hand pressing nothing. I have the regular clockwork mod recovery not the touch installed. I have to scroll with the volume buttons and select with the power button. But even when im not pressing either it just goes in ghost mode and starts selecting stuff. Its crazy!! Is there a problem with my version of recovery? 6.0.4.3

I don't use cwm so I wouldn't know. But your didgitizer could still act like its working fully and still be broken. Idk man.

ok well thanks man for your help. Would the digitizer be causing the random reboots as well?

If it's malfunctioning is possible. But there's no telling.

Can you boot download mode? Odin flash stock firmware. If it continues then it may be a hardware problem.
i havent tried to do that. But i did do a factory reset from my settings instead of through recovery. I did lose quite a bit of stuff because it deleted my backups in titanium and etc but my recovery is working now. No more ghost mode selecting everything. But my phone is still doing the random reboots

Earlier I too felt this type of auto touch in my other device and I figured out that this was happening due to some radio interference at some particular time and particular place which was near a radio station
Whenever I go away or that station time was over it will be working correctly
May be something like this happening just for your information to make sure

Problem Hard Resetting phone

I have a sprint note 4 running kitkat.
rooted some tweaks installed. anyway phone has bee getting unstable lately and blutetooth for calling is dead. streaming music works but anytime I try to use bluetooth for calls it immediately disconnect phone bluetooth when I make or recieve a call and then reconnect when I end the call (WTF right??)
anyway finally broke down and figured factor data wipe time. reinstall clean.
so I backup all my stuff take screenies of anything I think I will need to remember etc.. move all data from internal to external storage etc..
I go into settings and click reset device.
it reboots says warranty bit recovery set and then nothing. black screen. intermittantly I can see the open chested android graphic with "install system update" flash on the screen for a split second. this repeats forever.
after 10 minutes of this I pull the battery try to start same thing.
I tried holding vol up home power for a manual hard reset
exact same thing. I seem to be able to boot into download mode but not recovery mode.
suggestions?
EDIT :
I see in another thread you updated to 5.1.1.
yeah that is what I ended up doing except I said screw it and just went to lollipop. working on setting it up now (it booted fine)
trying to install the stripped rooted rom but I keep getting an error in recovery. footer wrong signature failure.
Ah... No twrp. ?
Yep. ID10T error did not follow instructions. All is working now.

Note 2 boot load loop fix - cause System Memory full

Hi everyone. This is the first time ive posted anything on here. I will try to fully describe my problem that i really need help to fix.
My wife got my old Note 2 is rooted and she got my
Dad's old unrooted Note 2. After deciding that she didnt want a rooted phone she decided to use my father's unrooted phone. Due to apps updating and the internal memory getting full she ingored the warning message not really realising the outcome. The phone eventually shut itself down and is stuck on the Samsung logo (boot loop). So i gave her my old rooted phone back because she said that it just died. The same happened to the rooted phone too.
I asked before what she did and i was told nothing it just died. So i had nothing to go on. It wasn't until a week later when I tried to sort the problem out she said the System Memory was getting full and a message came up warning of this. So now I believe the problem is that the on board memory has got full and the phone seized. Much like what happens to a PC when the main hard drive gets full!
When i attempt to boot the phone up the Samsung logo show and stays on, never booting up. This happens with both phones. When i hold the Home key, Power button and Up volume switch. The phone loads the first Part of the boot up and at the moment it goes to the system screen it goes blank for a split second and back to the start of the boot. No matter how many times i try it fails. So I can't Factory reset or erase anything because i can get to it that screen.
So I try something else. I press the Home button, Power button and the Down on the volume to access the Download mode. This works fine. So i used Odin to try to put Rom onto the phone hoping this will solve the problem. Both phones connects to Odin alright and I can set up ready to load a rom onto it, however when i press start on Odmin to do its job everthing starts ok but then it goes red with a Failed error message. This happens when i try this on both phones, I seem to be stuck no knowing what to do. I have tried using all the ports on my laptop (window 7) and that makes no difference. The same happens on both devices.
I think i need to clear the memory somehow but have no idea how to do it when i can only access Download mode. I would be very grateful for any help on this but if all else fail I will try to build up static on a ballon and see if putting the near will wipe the memory, lol. Only joking. Im desperate to sort this out.
Any ideas?
try to flash twrp with Odin and download mode. Then enter recovery, connect it to PC and make some space.
But I really doubt it, apps won't install even when you have 500Mb free, so I think it might be hardware problem
