[Q] Bluetooth Output Volume...(and how to make it louder) - LG Optimus G Pro

I have an issue with the output of the Bluetooth volume for my LG E980 and how low it is compared to my HTC One. The output volume for the E980 PALES in comparison to the HTC One. For example, I have a Jabra Supreme and a Jabra Freeway and when I am using my HTC One, I usually don't need to go beyond 60/70% for the Jabra Supreme and anything above 50% for the Freeway is too loud (especially in a car). However when using those same devices with my E980, I literally have to have the volume up to 90% JUST TO HEAR ANYTHING decently....(with either bt device)
Is there a config file that I can edit to boost the output volume for Bluetooth or maybe a file that can be flashed via recovery that's been edited to boost the volume output?
I see someone else has the same type of question for their Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (and they are comparing it against an HTC Evo...)
I also saw this post (entitled Bluetooth Quality Issues) and this sub-post from the same thread...
However those seem to be related to quality (which I may try just for GP) and not so much output volume..
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :good:

Volume, Volume, Volume Why No Fixes?

Ok, we have some smart people here at XDA-Developers so why has no one been able to come up with a hack for the low volume on many of these units? The SX-56 has really good volume in both the earpiece and the speakerphone but it seems all other HTC units do not!
When using the media player the volume on the speaker is adequate (not great); however the same speaker as a speakerphone can barely be heard unless one is in a quiet room. The earpiece volume is terrible in a noisy environment. If you compare this to almost any tiny phone it sucks to put it bluntly. Take my LG 4500, it is so loud that you have to turn it down (this is as it should be).
From what I have seen, changes in the ROM can effect the volume so this tells me that there has to be some value stored away in a .dll that limits the max volume. I have searched for a registry value but none seems to solve the problem. The same hardware used for Media player has to be used for everything else, i.e. amplifier and speaker for spearkerphone and just switched to earpiece when in normal phone mode. Thus the amplifier is capable.
Can someone identify the .dll used for audio? Is it different for the various models? Does one work better than another? Is there a hacked version that would work better than all of the others? Is it in the volume control .dll?
Anyone that can solve this problem will be a hero in my eyes and a true hacker in the best sense of the word. I have the new HP IPAQ HW6510 (also made by HTC) and it has some improvements in the version of Windows it has, such as the Bluetooth stack really seems to work well; however, since the unit supports Bluetooth 1.2 I'm not sure whether it would work with version 1.1 phones.
Thank you for any help you can provide. I searched the site first and found many other complaining but no solutions.
Doesn't anyone have a clue? Is there anyone that can explain the workings and which .dlls do what relative to audio? Surely there is some bright person that has been able to figure this out.
pda2k user here. NEVER had volume problems. lucky?

[Q] Will Bluetooth headphones resolve low volume issue?

Hello everyone! Question number ... ufff... I can't even remember now! LOL. Anyways, I know there is an issue with the SGS2 and low volume through headphones, and I suffer from it as well. Now, what about Bluetooth headphones? As they usually have their own volume controller, would that help the issue? Could I turn up the volume as needed? Because with corded headphones they usually just use what the phone outputs as volume. But with Bluetooth headphones is that the same issue? Or can it be upped even more?
Thanks a lot
I use nokia's bh505 headphones and they are much louder than wired ones. As have volume on phone plus volume on headset.

[Q] Bluetooth Volume Adjust

Hi. I have tried many different rom's and Kernel's on my gnexus. I have been able to adjust the headset volume, and speaker volume with different rom's (curently using Foxhound), but have never found a way to increase the bluetooth a2dp out volume. I have a bluetooth reciever on my amp at home, used to play music from my Nexus S with great volume (still does) but I have never been able to with Gnexus. Gnexus plays but with the amp all the way up it is still not loud at all. When I plug direct conection to Gnexus using rca's and the headphone jack it works fine. Has anyone had any success in this area and would be willing to share the experience?
Thanks.................

Compatible wired earphones with mic and volume remote

Apart from the HTC branded E240 set, I cannot find a fully working pair of wired earphones that do it all (play, pause, track change, volume, answer call)
The E240 from htc are the ones that do it all but I would say the sound quality is lacking.
The next closest I have seen are the new a-Jay five earphones, the Android version. However, on their website, they specify that with the HTC one, the volume change feature does not work.
Wired quality on a good set should be better in quality to an equivalent bluetooth pair so I would prefer wired.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks

I've got an old thread with a list of working headsets that you can check out but none of them meet your requirements unfortunately. You'd need to use a headset button controller app to toggle volume if you don't plan to use the E240. For example, a often used setup is 3 presses to raise volume - 4 presses to lower volume. If this setup doesn't bother you then have a look at this list

Kit kat Blue tooth volume?? Losing hearing over here!

I don't know if this is from kit kat but has anyone tried using a blue tooth headset and noticed the minimum volume is extremely loud? I tried adjusting volume on headset and tablet and min volume either way was blowing my ears out. Don't recall this issue before. Could be mistaken though. Using LG Tones for the headphones.
*edit* put paranoid android (4.3)back on and can confirm the volume is significantly more adjustable. Before had about 7 lvls of volume all loud, now i am back to the normal 15ish levels. Not sure what was going on tonight but 4.4 was acting up. I think I'll wait til a more stable ROM comes out. I also wasn't happy to lose HBO Go with 4.4 lol and the amazon app store work around wasn't working for me. anyways heads up if you use bluetooth headsets with 4.4!

I use Bluetooth and I have 15 steps to my volume.

Not sure then. There was someone else having the same issue as me. I had the stock 4.4 that Mr. Roster put together. Not sure which 4.4 you are using.

It is Kit Kat issue on all devices that use the default Google Bluedroid Bluetooth stack, meaning Nexus devices and Google Play versions (other devices running a modified stack may not be affected).
Supposedly, it is an extension to Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 that enables Bluetooth audio devices to directly control Android's system volume. It seems some genius thought two independent volume levels (headphone volume and handset bluetooth level) was too confusing for folks. Clearly they did not think about (or test) that some Bluetooth audio devices with their own volume controls might default to a very high or low level, and control of only the handset's bluetooth level would not provide sufficient range of adjustment.
So once again we have Goofle googing up bluetooth in Android. Please share your disappointment in the following threads so that we might see a fix ASAP. Guessing they are facing law suits for hearing damage if it is not addressed quickly.
