[Q] I'm new to the forum and to Xperia Arc S

Dear all forumers, and developers
I just bought a new xperia arc s, and found link to this great forum. I'm so happy that I find out countless of useful information, hacks...everything related to phones. However, as the forum rule I can't post any reply to some sections unless I've made 10 helpful posts. It's really hard because I don't know so much about phones.

Yes I have install the driver Sony...Adb driver already...Do you suspect that the problem could be from the MTP driver ? Because I don't know how to fix this beside unmount sd card, switching from MTP to Mass storage mode..to cheat the PC companion to know my phone..
While for rooting..what the problem could be. As the post of DoomLord said the problem is only for the latest firmware 62. By the way, here's mine:
Model: LT18i
Android version: 2.3.4
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf..
Build number: 4.0.2.A.0.42
Any idea ?

Maybe try clear data/cache of app you're using. For me it helped.

First what u can do:
Go to Settings -> Apps -> choose your app youe're using for making vids and click on Clear cache and Clear Data something like there:

So, maybe try to flash another version. I was using this and it was fully stable (making videos also was working) http://roms.miuipolska.pl/Android-2.3.7/2.4.13/htc/htc-desire/MIUI.us_desire_2.4.13.zip

[MOD][JB][S] [P,U,Sola,Go = ?] Enable Speed dial in JB

After carefully inspecting the leaked JB fw provided by Doomlord, brickin my phone and all sorts of stuff :cyclops: i came across a fact that speed dial isnt in the fw so again i searched and found a mod originaly made for xperia T,V,TX witch enables the feature that i'm talking about made possible by gregbradley and tested on Xperia S JB by myself. (It could likely work on Xperia P, U jb port, Sola jb port, Go, need testers)
Do this at your own risk.
I recommend you do a backup first

Instructions
Simply Flash the zip.
(i recommend wiping cache and dalvik but its tottaly up to you)

[Root Required] Make Facebook/ FB Messenger and Whatsapp work ! (Working)

As everyone knows that the facebook app....Facebook messenger...Whatsapp (etc) Are not working in Nokia X...
Here is the solution to it...
Things Needed :-
1)- Custom Rom (Any rom...Like baidu...aosp...semi aosp...cm 10...Minirom etc)
2)- Proper SuperSU/ Superuser (With root permissions)
3)- Root Explorer...You can get it from Here
4)- This modded build.prop to make everything work
5)- Atleast 2 Minutes or so
Before You Begin, I Want to clear :-
If anything goes wrong i should not be held responsible...else there are very less chances to get a bootloop or soft brick
Let's Begin !
Uninstall fb...fb messenger and whatsapp First
Open root explorer...Copy the modded build.prop file from step 4 to system and rename the old build.prop to build.prop.bak....then paste this new build.prop...thn long press on build.prop....click on permissions and set the permissions as follow in the screenshot....rw-r-r

When done....Reboot your phone and it should boot well....
Now install whatsapp, fb and fb messenger Everything's working....

What's in it?
I didn't test it all, but there are some very promising files and also scripts that one-click sideload SuperSU for you.

same here it set itself back into chinese. And also It ask for decrypt password. why?
