Will I loose Root when updating via OTA ? maybe not unless it's the update for 4.3 like it was on my Xperia T that I had just lost this weekend now I got a deal on a Xperia ZL C6506
and now Currently Rooted on 4.1 Build 10.1.A.1.395 with an OTA update available 10.3.A.0.423 not sure what build that is when I got PC companion saying I got an update for Build number 10.4.B.0.569 So I'm assuming that 423 isn't 4.3 but 4.2 but I don't know ?

yes 10.3.A.0.423 is 4.2.2 firmware
and yes you will lose root
but you still can root it in 4.2.2 firmware, and flash a pre-rooted 4.3 rom if you want as 4.3 don't have way to root

I didn't lose Root I lost NFC Searching around but can't find a fix for the ZL just for the Z now the OTA update is available for 4.3 but I'm pretty sure that's when you lose Root .

Hey everyone, I am thinking of getting Galaxy Nexus. may I know if I can update by computer or just by FOTA?
Sent from my Xperia arc running Google Android 1.6 Donut.
You can update from your computer with an official OTA or custom ROM or wait for an OTA update.

i have 2 friends using Xperia S, while they have updated it to .55 build officially, i cant do it, update center in mobile and in pc shows i have the latest software.
i have .45 build
stock ICS ROM and locked BL
just rooted using binarys script
but the problem was same even before rooting..
You probably must be having different customization than they have. .55 firmware has not been released for every customization.
Or did you ever flash a firmware on your phone ? You bought it new ?
If you wish, you can manually flash a .55 firmware on your phone

Just pick anything from the Android Development section. They're basically the same, well, except for the firmwares of course...
