[Q] Help: is there a way to install SNOTE on pacrom? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm currently running PACROM nightlies. Is there a way to install SNOTE back on my note 2 running pacrom? From what I have read it will need touchwiz to run. Can anyone point me in the right direction, I haven't found much searching.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/app-snote-apk-t1986036

Nope.
Being in the same boat, I use Handy Note Pro. A utility that is all around superior to S-Note in every way shape and form when combined with CM-SPen Addon and Note Buddy. All are on Play.

No. You read correctly. Most Samsung apps require TW to install and function. You will have to decide between custom AOSP or touch Wiz... one or the other. I have the same dilemma as a lot of others do. Torn between TW apps/keyboard vs AOSP.

At this point there is nothing that Note 2 TouchWiz has that hasn't been ported over into an app for AOSP.
Kii keyboard has all the features of the TW keyboard and more...and is configurable how you like.

Samsung SuperNote and/or S-Note on our Nexus 7

Hey!
I like Supernote and S-Note on Samsung-Devices, its a smart and fast way to memo or write something.
It's possible that Supernote and SNote works well on the Nexus 7?
Is somewhere working on Nexus 7-versions of Supernote and SNote?
Thanks and a nice evening. :good:
Hi,
that would be very nice. I hope, anybody is able, to port this App to the Nexus 7
Tim
Would presume that apps like that will need the touchwiz framework for it to run.
So I think that only a full touchwiz port will work.
hm, okay. I hope, it will run without...
Tim
use supernote from asus transforrmer
i upload 2 versions,try them all

The second one works for me fine. Thanks alot! Now I need a stylus
Does it support mathematic funktions, like the SNote?
i don't think, but you can try and delete if you don't like
OK, first I try it in my DesireHD, because, I get my Nexus at the end of the month I will report, if that works, or not
Tim
It would be soo great if somebody could bring the SNote on the Nexus7.
I have tested Supernote. But this app has no math plugin.
i don't think of.surely it requires tw frameworks and dependencies, but also if a working port of touchwiz is available, inside that i didn't find anything related to spen..if it was possible,i think users like madphone could already done that..but it isn't so..!
but why does it needs Touchwiz? I think, Touchwiz is the UI of Samsungdevices. I hope, anybody can explain that

Because Samsung makes great hardware but their software division likes to make things as complicated as possible so they are more in control of their builds then the user is.. Samsungs stupid qmg boot animation format is a perfect example.

Touchwiz is more than the ui, it encompasses all the internal OS changes as well. For example, you can't just rip out the "Pop up Play" feature out of the Galaxy Note II, as it relies on some of the internal OS tweaks to function. Same with some proprietary apps like S-Note, they may need the internal changes present only on Touchwiz ROMs.
Still no possibility to install S Note on Nexus 7???
Is there really no possibility to install Samsung S Note on the Nexus 7?
I even flashed a custom rom, which is said to port Touchwiz on the Nexus 7, but I still can´t install the S Note apk.
(I am prevented to post outside links -.- You have to search mrmad.net CodenameSammy 1.2, there you will find the rom)

yeah man,it's famous, but it's only a cna based rom with some touchwiz touches(TWframeworks,APKs,etc)
it's a well known fact that the tw dependencies limit the port.being closed sorce,tw ui need rewritten code for working on others non touchwiz dependent phones.i don't say that it's impossibile, but very hard and long.doubt we will ever see anything related
You should use Myscript Calculator. It does the match functionality perfectly.
Lecture note is better then snote
I hardly ever use s-note on my note 10.1. there is a- note hd for the note that you guys might like better I dont have a link but its available in the note 10.1 forum ...I do not really use it but it looks kewl..
I use lecture note and Franklin planner for the note 10.1 ..s note is useless without the S- pen in my opinion ...
I wish myscript would release and enhance their notes program. Its fantastic just for the handwriting recognition same with the samsung keyboard handwriting recognition. Have been wondering if the 7notes keyboard is worth just getting

[Q] Stock Android for the Note II

Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is any rom available with the stock version of Jelly bean for the Note II? Not the modified one.
I want to get rid of the touchwiz and a few other things.

Impossibru. Plus if you go stock, you will likely lose S-Pen functionality.
If you want pure stock, just get a Nexus. The Note is best with Samsung's software.
If you want a stock launcher but would like to keep all the cool touchwiz and s-pen features, then download Nova launcher from the play store. It gives you a pure stock android launcher. It's very smooth and will lessen your ram usage a ton.

its not impossibru...
there are countless CM and AOSP roms on the Note I....this one will, without fail have them too...
official CM is just one rom, there are tens of other ports on any given mobile
and about the s pen functionality, it remains there. but its not fully there. but its getting near to it as in the beta of Utacka's PA in OG. developers are advancing

[Q] SPen pull auto launch of S Note on aosp build?

Anybody know if the auto launch of S Note when removing the S Pen can/does work on AOSP / AOKP builds of Android? I'm assuming that it will require a patch or an app to add this functionality to an aosp build, is there something out there? Also assuming you lose this function when leaving TW. Additionally I'm not looking to use a different launcher on a 'stock' device as I want to move to PA.
...sorry ahead of time if this has been answered already, did a search and didn't find anything.

SNote is a TWiz only app. The best available substitute is Papyrus... But the Spen detach sensor currently doesn't do anything in AOSP.

Anybody have an in with the devs of Tasker or AutomateIt? ...Tasker's feature requests are closed.
Asking them to add an SPen trigger; set it to launch the Papyrus app would be perfect.

[Q] Does a CM-based ROM with good pen support exist?

My phone (running stock, rooted 4.1.2 at the moment) is getting a little unstable, so I am going to wipe and start from scratch. I'd really like to go back to CyanogenMod-based ROMs, but AFAIK the pen support in these is awful -- S Note is no longer there, and there is nothing in the Play Store remotely as good, and all of the useful annotating tricks are missing.
If this is no longer the case, can someone let me know? I am not in the "scene" and there are so many ROMs posted in so many places that I have no idea where to start. Otherwise I think I will probably grab the rooted 4.3 ROM that dropped a couple days ago and try that on for size.
Thanks gang.
I'm running the gt-7105 cm10.2 .0 and I have been using the papyrus app in the play store. I'm pretty happy with it

No ROMs based of anything other then tw have the functionally that your looking for in terms of the spen. With that said, you can get some decent apps that make it less painful.
When I run cyan or any other AOSP/AOKP ROMs I install spen launcher along with notebuddy and cm spen add on. That combination will allow a pop up menu when you remove the spen that allows you to have access to your spen apps. As stated papyrus is a good one, gnote found here on xda is another, write and sketchbook, you can backup or extract sketchbook from stock ROMs and it installs fine.

Any aosp/cm11 sprint roms

Are we going to be be getting any non touchwiz roms soon? I sure miss cm 11 and omni roms.

Questions go under questions. Theres yet to be a specific ROM thread up where that would apply.
they have cm booting on the tmobile one, the majority of that code would work fine for the sprint one. chances are they will be unified builds. if this was teh s5 or anything id work towards fleshing out the device tree and bringing it up, but i am truly happy with my note 4 stock with xposed. i dont use all the fancy samsung features but i do use enough of them to not even really want to bother flashing aosp and losing out on it. granted this is my first note device but i cant see or imagine why anyone would want to use something other than stock, battery is amazing, features are top notch and its very fast and fluid.
I came from a nexus 5 but i sold that and for a week i used a kyocera echo until my note 4 preorder was ready to pick up, it truly is amazing in how much progress has been made in such a short time.
I agree with Shabbypenguin.
I'd rather have a stock ROM with all the cool Samsung functionality of floating windows, one handed moded, functional heart rate sensor, S-Pen apps, and camera app all work great.
Instead we need a rom with stock as base, and AOSP apps like I describe in my thread:
My "Dream ROM" for the Note 4 would be:
*Rooted
*Knox removed
*CyanogenMod style theming
*Samsung and Sprint bloatware removed (accept for Facebook sync)
*TouchWiz apps (calendar, messaging, phone, clock, calculator, lockscreen, notification quick settings) replaced with CyanogenMod versions

i swore i replied to you in there but i guess i didnt :/. the cm theme manager isnt possible on stock, its embedded in so many core files to be able to alter everything on the fly its not possible without recompiling with the code added in, and we cant recompile touchwiz.

My main gripe is the typing lag,
in some apps. I notice the typing lag mainly on TouchWiz roms and in Google hangouts and a few other apps. I've tried different keyboards and they all lag on TouchWiz. If I use Aosp, no lag at all anywhere.
Yes the features of the Note 4 are great but I don't use and can live without most of them. I really wanted this device for its spen. I'd take the overall smoothness of cm11 and it's lean build over the features in touch wiz. Hopefully we get a cm build going.
Cm12? Mmmmm
I was just reading about CM12.
I'm strongly thinking of moving over.
I can mimic floating windows with xhalo xposed. It has resizable windows that work similar to TouchWiz floating windows.
I'm not sure how I'd mimic one handed mode
Or the stock camera app which has dual facing camera modes.
Any ideas?
Read on land of droid the cm12 roadmap

Hopefully someone picks up the Sprint Note 4 as the cm12 maintainer.
Looking forward to cm on the note 4. It's pretty much the only thing keeping me from buying one.

Yea probably not man. Anyone with enough skill can build the device tree. Its just nice when we get official maintainers. Give it time, it will happen. Samsung devices ALWYS get cm.

Have we reached a point where all of the stuff you mentioned is no longer going to be able to be incorporated into AOSP? I came to the note 4 from the note 2, and I agree touchwiz is pretty nicely refined, but I would like to see AOSP. From some post's I've read hear and there, it appears that touchwiz just gets more complex. What about the Nexus 6 OS?
