Bricked?? - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I installed the 14.3.A.0.757 kk update, but because of the sd file access I wanted to get root access. I first unlocked the bootloader folowing this guide (http://techbeasts.com/2013/12/18/how-to-unlock-bootloader-of-sony-xperia-devices-guide/) and then proceeded onto installing CWm touch recovery following this guide: http://techbeasts.com/2014/04/15/in...sony-xperia-z1-running-14-3-a-0-757-firmware/
I've managed every step up untill number 14, I don't see anything on the screen anymore. I do see the pink led, but pressing vol up doesn't bring up the CWM recovery. The screen stays completely black, same when I let it boot 'regularly', without pressing any buttons.
What should I do?

You used a z1 guide not z1 compact for root?
Did your bootloader unlock?

OMG, :silly:
That would explain quite a bit, so now all I have to look for is the boot.img for the z1 compact?
Used the boot.img from this thread, now the screen is ok again

Now to get everything else working again...

How to boot in recovery mode?

Hi,
I want to install the next rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448552
through recovery mode.
But how do i come in the recovery mode on my SE Arc S?
--
I had already tried with ROM Manager but then nothing happens, only the phone is rebooted, and does not start in recovery mode.
--
Thanks!
Install the x-parts app and through the app install recovery.
To boot into recovery, turn on your phone and in the Sony Ericsson splash screen (not the boot animation, the first screen) and when the LED indicator turns blue, press volume down, then you'll be in recovery.

installing cwm recovery using cwm autoinstaller apk but my phone does not reboot into recovery.i have tried pressing every key volume rockers, back key, mrnu key but nothings happen.pls help.
Propably you'll need to have kernel with recovery inside so you'll have to unlock bootloader.

Factory reset shouldn't do any harm. It's just going to delete all your data on phone and restore default settings. Anyway, if you would eventually have some problem, you will be able to fix it with Flashtool.

[Q] LT26I stuck in boot loop

HI all
Sorry if this have been covered else where, i am stuck, or rather my phone is.
I performed a hard reset the other day, and it has been stuck in a boot loop sequence since.
I have performed the hard reset again ( a number of times) again to no avail.
The screen shows the Sony Logo then the Xperia animated logo, then goes back to the Sony logo.
I have attempted to flash the phone, but as it is in the wrong mode i believe i don't get the result i need. I am not to fussed about the data on the phone, but i wouldn't mind fixing it.
please see screen grab from the attempt i made with the flasher. My apologies if i am in the wrong place, done the wrong thing, poor syntax
i am a noob with a dead phone.
Any help or pointers to the correct link would be most appreciated

no i can't say that i have. i'll give it a bash and see what happens.
To get into flashmode, press VOLUME DOWN when connected to computer.
Hope this helps
Mate,
If you haven't unlocked the boot loader you can try downloading Sony update service and reflashing the stock firmware.
This method will wipe all data on the phone but you will then be able to use it.

hmm
its been noted that recoverx doesnt work with the 96fw (not only that but chance not to work at all on any firmware)
there is a cwm installer in the dev section somewhere
try that instead

Try this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308493&highlight=doomlord
I assume that you manage to root your phone, so there should be no problem to install CWM with this method.

Can't unlock boot loader or flash stock

Hi there,
Has anyone got a way out of this.....
I have a rooted C1905 that I have been playing around with. I want to try CM11 but boot loader unlock fails with a "FAILED (unknown status code)" report after I send my unlock code. I then thought I'd flash back to stock using S.U.S. but that fails too saying that I have a customized rom... which I don't!!! I seem to be stuck! is there anyway to force a stock flash?
Cheers
Have you checked if your bootloader can be unlocked? Go to the dialer, type *#*#7378423#*#* then go to Service info => Configuration. In rooting status, it should say "Bootloader unlock allowed: yes", otherwise it won't work. About your flashing problem, try connecting the phone directly in flash mode before opening SUS, by turning off your phone, holding Volume Down and plugging USB cable or by flashing a FTF file through Flash Tool...
It happened to me also ,check your IMEI CODE,you need to send first 14 digits of your IMEI,

Flashed an FTF of the latest but still can't unlock the bootloader. still get "unknown Error" and it wipes my apps.
Also can't use "repair my phone" on PCC as it says I have a Customised Rom, could this be due to me trying tools like flashgordon and debloat/deoxing flashing or routing? if so how can I get back to a stock state for a UK XM so I can start again?

Nope, but try this anyway.
1. Disconnect your phone and turn it off but keep the cable attached
2. Open PCC and go to Update
3. When it says no device found click the blue repair link
4. Choose Xperia M when asked to
5. Follow the instructions
I have a locked bootloader and modified ROM and it works flawlessly. Keep us updated
