Figured out the answer to my question.
I assume you mean the notification bar... and there wouldn't be any way to remove it without rooting. Even with rooting I'm not sure its possible outside a completely custom ROM.
Why would you want to remove it anyway? Its a great part of android...

*edit*
I've figured it out. This thread can be closed.
What was the point of deleting your post? I hate when people do that. What if your question and subesquent discovery of the answer helps someone with the same question? Deleting your question doesn't take it off the thread, just let the original content slowly fade off into the XDA abyss like the rest of them that don't get responses.
Because it was simple overlook on my part. My launcher already had the option it was worded differently than others. So yes there is a point in closing it as there was no outside solution found by me. Plus there is another thread of the same topic posted that people can look at for a solution.

Hoe about not posting a new thread in developmental, unless its related to developing the phone for the better......continuing to do so can and will results in a temp/perm ban

Please in the future:
1) Search first.
2) Don't post questions in the development section.
Maybe there needs to be a step included in the process of creating a new thread asking the OP to ensure the thread belongs in that forum.

On the "desktop" version of the website, there's already a step when creating a thread that automatically searches and finds existing threads on the subject.
It's already ignored by a lot of people.
I'm skeptical that adding an additional step for people to ignore is the correct solution. That being said, I have to real solution.
I always try to suggest people search and I'm fully aware that it makes the threads seem hostile to newcomers. I honestly don't know what to do half of the time. Being polite helps, but a lot of time people want to get upset.
Sorry people. I thought maybe I would get a more direct answer if I came directly to the sacred area of developers. Now I know that next time I'll go to Q&A and look there for the answers I need instead of relying on your expertise.

I was about to point you in the exact direction that mlin did. That's some good stuff, I keep it on my SD card in case of an emergency run to sprint for insurance or anything.

It's not about expertise, it's about Development, that's reserved for exactly that development of roms, mods etc.. It is not a question and answer forum nor a theming section. Those have their own section with thousands of people which are going to probably help you and give you proper information. Also mocking the words of a Moderator is not a good thing to do. Just some friendly advice.

Okay, so me and my brother both have android smartphones, but I got a new Galaxy note 2 and I need help flashing over to it, and then helping him flash over to my old phone because his screen is messed up. If anyone out there is good at flashing phones, could you please message me and help me out? It would be greatly appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
What are u trying to flash to ?

Sounds like you want to activate a new phone and activate your old phone for him and this should be in Q&A.

We mostly do android development around here. Plus what your asking can also reach into taboo topics on this forum. You might wanna look elsewhere on a different forum for that.
Edit: Ok, i'm gonna be nice (mods don't yell at me) First of I AM NOT going to explain how, but I will tell you what you need to do. You need to look into what is called ESN swapping. You need to be aware that this subject is in a legal grey area and is not discussed very openly and not at all on this forum. My recommendation would be to find another carrier that supports using that phone without changing the ESN. They are out there, and sometimes cheaper. Good luck with whatever you do, but trying to get this phone on your carrier involves things we don't discuss here and that are possibly illegal.
Again, mods, i'm just being nice, but trying to stay within the rules.
Okay, Thanks!

WOW! Took me a whole 5 seconds to do a search and find this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54349602&postcount=3
Maybe next time use the search feature first!
Wish for once someone would just give me the link instead of being a [email protected]@. Everytime I post something here in the Q&A section(where im supposed to post questions) I always get a [email protected]@ reply. When I typed in the question it didn't pull that question up or I wouldn't have posted it. This is a forum where people come for info and help with their phones. I give up.

did you actually do a search for carrier IQ? Many of us offer plenty of help but that doesn't mean people shouldn;t try to help themselves first
Did you even bother to check this thread at all? It has links to carrier IQ removal

It's ridiculous how many people expect to be hand fed info, when our XDA search function is already so easy to use (let alone Google). How do you think anyone else finds the answers they are looking for?
There is an absolute difference between being a smartass and catering to the lazy. You're lucky a forum like this exists, with so much valuable information so FREE & EASILY accessible.
Instead of worrying yourself about no one hot linking you, use those brain cells more wisely and think about what you can give back to the community.
