Hi,
Im using the HTC m8 for a week now, and to be honest i dont like BlinkFeed.

Thanks

Yeah, you can remove it just like any other home screen. In arrange screens.

Yes ive already did that, but when i looked through my battery usage, it use for about 45% even when i removed it.
So can i delete completely from my m8

No, because as far as I know, it's part of the launcher (although it can be updated through the play store). Ensure its not subscribed to anything and that it it's set to sync as little as possible.
turned off all of your auto update.
Ok, thanks for the quick reply's

That does not delete it. If you want to really delete it too probably need root and system access. And have knowledge about adapting apk files. Maybe it's possible to remove some code from the prism.apk to actually true disable it. But that's kinda difficult i guess.

How do i get titanim backup to work?
I already have perm root and granted it permissions, but it doesn't load any of the apps on the phone. I was gonna use it toget rid of the bloadtware on my bell desire z.
I just switched from a galaxy s so i'm still learning the ropes of htc's implementation.

Ok, nevermind. Such a noob. I just updated busybox and it's working now.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
U remove the apps? Did it stay after reboot?
Sent from HTC Desire Z using XDA App
nope, they are long gone. i used titanium to remove bloatware from my sgs before i switched to the desire. it's also really useful when flashing a full firmware coz you can back up and restore apps + app data in batches.

YOu just backed up the apps you wanted right? And cliicked the app u dont want and removed?

Titanium was fixed the other week to allow removal of system apps on the Desire Z and HD (before we had S-Off).
@jark99: yup. Just be sure to know exactly what you want to remove, and be careful not to remove important sys apps. One rule: if you're not sure the app should be removed or not, don't remove it.

thanks going to try that now.
I'm having this problem now, how do I work around this?
if you already have root, download the latest busybox from the market. that's what fixed it for me.

Your app may just be waiting on you to approve the update, or tell it to update if you don't have auto-updates installed. I've got the new UI on mine. That being said, I don't really love it. I feel like a lot less "stuff" fits on the screen due to the addition of the bar at the top that shows you what "page" you're on.
Funny thing is that I just got the phone today and even in the app store it shows the new ui. But it doesn't show any updates are available. Maybe a reboot.

Either that, or it might just take it a day or two. Google play is funny about when it shows app updates for people. When hangouts updated to allow texting, it was at least 3 days before the update popped up for me.
When I went from my note 3 it took about 10 minutes for the ui to update

Yea I tried to uninstall but that didn't work either so I'll just wait it out no big deal.

Hello would like to root but on past phone rooted stopped this from working. They was some people who temp removed root to get it working anyone here tested?
Thanks

Not tested, but I know there is a module for xposed framework (i think it is called something like "cloak hider" or similar) it hides root for some apps. Maybe you want to take a look at this?!

Telus HTC one m8, unlocked bootloader, stock ROM, elementalX kernel (tried stock recovery and philzs recovery)
Can't seem to enable ART runtime... I don't know If stock kernel or recovery matters but when I try enabling it the phone reboots like normal and in settings it still says dalvik.
Any ideas?
If you have Xposed installed art will not work.
Oh really? I did not know that... That's too bad...
Thanks for the quick reply!

What do you need to do to switch to art
All I got was loads off app crashes /error reports

I'm using ART now. It works fine for me and improves battery life as well as performance. Programs that don't work, I just uninstall and find an alternative that works. None of my essential or favourite programs are affected by it and work fine with ART. A few games don't work but they aren't important enough for me to keep. If any essential program didn't work I would revert back but so far all my essential programs are working fine, surprisingly.

Maybe you try a deodexed rom.You can enable it form developer settings.Remember installing xposed will return you to dalvik.wait for @rovo89 to make an art version of xposed.
How did you folks manage the OK Google from any screen?
I'm on O2 UK, totally stock but running Themer. I enable Google Now and the 'any screen' button is grayed out. I enable US English but still, it won't work and won't register OK Google even 1/3 times, where it needs to be trained. Even with the Google Now launcher, it's the same.
Thanks!

If you are rooted you can enable it to work on Sense6 using exposed framework an the "Ok Google for 3rd party launchers / apps (4.4+)" module.
If this is installed you can enable the function in Google searches settings by going to Google settings > Voice.
If this method doesn't work you could try to use UnleashtheGoogle.apk (see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/themes-apps/unleash-google-hotword-detection-t2803261). This is what I'm actually using on my M8 and works just flawlessly. I set it up after a downgrade to Google search 3.5.14 cause google removed the descriptions from the debug flag menu you otain by running UnleashtheGoogle (and believe ma you need those descriptions).

What about trying to S-Off with say SunShine. It will unlock bootloader and S-Off without data loss and you could go right away into installation of a custom recovery and rooting your device. The side effect is that you have to pay 25$ for the use of SunShine.

Unlocking bootloader is where you usually have a complete wipe... SunShine method doesn't wipe??

No SunShine does it without wiping. That's what I personally liked about it.
You get unlock without HTC knowing an without wipe and achieve S-Off.
Okay, trying it now then.

So now I've done all that... But Google hardly recognizes my speech. It only recognizes the OK Google properly, pff
2nd unrelated question: How do I uninstall Project Era sound mod? Any simple way?
3rd unrelated qs: I have Titanium backup of all my apps from previous phones, and more importantly, their data. How do I get Titanium backup to see all of them? (4GB)
Thanks a lot!

1st: Google has to learn your pronouncing. Did you set en-Us as primary speech and you mother language as second?
2nd don't know. Maybe they have a zip to flash and remove it as well.
3rd hmmm good one too. Doesn't it if you put it onto the extSD?

Ok and 3rd: not enough space to copy it onto internal I guess!?
For 2nd there is an answer found in the project era thread. It says no uninstall instructions, but the OP explicitly tells to run a backup prior to installing the mode for the case you want to remove it later on.

Yea, but it means I gotta go back like a month, lol. I've lost phone speaker sound cus of it hence.
I guess I'm gonna leave it until I have spare time to see all the files it's flashing, and then try to flash my old backed up files. Gah
