help needed from aussie n7105 users - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can any aussies help me with this...ive got a n 7105 4g coming to me...now I know(??) its not a Telstra phone,as it doesn't have the Telstra logo next to the 4g on the back cover..i need to find a firmware on sam mobile to load into it (previous owner has rooted it and left a custom rom on it)..now I can find Telstra and optus firmware (im with optus atm), but I was hoping theres an aussie unbranded 4.1.2 firmware I can flash that will work ( owner assures me phone never updated to 4.3,and I want to keep it that way,to avoid all that knox bs.. also will I have problems just flashing a stock 4.12 to the phone??? I have read that I could have problems if I downgrade the firmware, what could happen?(assuming it hasn't seen the 4.3 update)..will I have problems if I flash the optus or Telstra? any help mu7ch appreciated, thanks :good:

It's an old thread but this is a 4.1.2 aussie based rom

If you want to run a 4.3 rom without knox you just need agni or devil kernel for wifi. I'm from the UK so can't really help with much else

[Q] unlocking, upgrading i9000t

I'm getting a i9000t and it already has the 2.2 update it is locked to telstra
and i'm thinking going to gingerbread 2.3 but would like to hear what people are running on their i9000t telstra phones that is fast and stable but before i start modifying do i need to unlock the network first?
what is the best way to unlock a i9000t (telstra branded) can this be done easily without rooting the phone or should i root it first?
the next thing is that it would be wise for me to back up the 2.2 telstra rom before flashing.
Im also interested to know which modem is best sorted for telstra next g for good reception in city & rural areas??
I have heard users reporting that the JL2 modem works well
and perhaps DVJP9 which is what the telstra 2.2 update is using.

[Q] AT&T MJB or Rogers MK5 for use in Germany (on i747 AT&T model)?

I bought an unlocked AT&T i747 in the U.S. and gave it to my sister in Germany, where she uses it on the O2 network. It's still on the 4.1.x AT&T stock ROM, and I want to upgrade it to 4.3, but have a few question for you S III experts:
1) Should I use the official AT&T MJB ROM, or one of the Rogers/Bell/Telus MK5 ROMs? (keep in mind that I need none of the carrier specific stuff, I just want the best 4.3 stock ROM for the i747)
2) It is unclear to me what difference the new 4.3 bootloader makes. Do I need o flash it, or am I better off leaving the bootloader unchanged? I understand one cannot go back once on the 4.3 bootloader, but I don't understand what advantages the new bootloader brings.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am still in Germany for a few days before returning to the U.S., and would love to perform the upgrade while I'm here.
Also, battery life is of utmost importance, so if upgrading to 4.3 is known to have any negative impact in this regard, please let me know.
Thanks!

[Q] N7105 - Switch from a Vodafone firmware from Three's

Hello,
I have a Samsung Note N7105, which was originally on Vodafone and has Cynagen 10.1 flashed on it. I am currently on the Three's network.
I want to move back to the stock rom. Do I have the option of installing the H3G firmware from Sam's mobile firmware website or I need to install the Vodafone firmware again?
Many thanks in advance.
You can flash any n7105 firmware on your device. You might have to enter your apn or flash the correct modem for your carrier but I doubt it while they are from the same country.

[Q] i8160 baseband/modem issues.

Hey all,
Not sure if this is where i should be posting so please correct me if i'm wrong.
So i have an ace ii i8160 on baseband XXLK7 (Orange/EE UK) and i rooted, installed TWRP and flashed the cyanogenmod 11 from [nova fusion] (it wont let me link it as i am a new user). It worked perfectly and was looking great however the phones GSM function was no longer working. I have tried a few nightlys and a few stable releases, all flash successfully and boot but with no sim function at all.
No one else flashing these ROMs seems to have any GSM/RIL trouble so i think it is a problem specific to Orange/EE UK or my baseband.
I originally thought it was a problem with the ROM but have tried a few different modem files to no avail. I was wondering if any of you could help, either with changing the baseband (would an Orange UK SIM card still work with a different baseband than the XXLK7?) or upload a good stock gingerbread 2.3.6 for the ace ii on this baseband. I cant seem to find one anywhere.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robbie.
