No this IS NOT a best rom thread its a bug report every d2lte rom I try gives me at most 2 bars even manually adding the apns while I don't get under 3 in touchwiz does anyone know a d2lte rom that has good signal?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
One problem is that Touchwiz aort of lies about signal strength. Cm uses aosp signal reporting which i believe is more accurate. You may be getting signal at the same strength but looks like a better connection on Samsung's UI. Have you looked at actual numbers for the signal?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Yes I actually get 4g where I live with touchwiz but I have to be in the middle of town to get 4g on aosp so its def a real issue.

No it doesn't... It uses 6 steps instead of 4 that most AOSP ROMs use. The real way to tell though is to go into About Device and see what the signal strength is... Bottom line, what is the reason you are wanting AOSP over TouchWiz? If it's not a very good reason then try a couple different TouchWiz ROMs to see if you can find one you like. TouchWiz will always have less bugs than AOSP.

please post this kind of thing in the Q&A section,
but yes. mostly all the roms that are "Sense" roms, will have working 4G. AOSP roms do not have 4G or HDMI yet. hope that helps
you should be able to tell fairly easily whether or not a certain rom has 4G
Try Fresh or Warm twopointwo.
search button ftw and wrong section !

Just read the very first post of any ROM thread. The author will (usually) say whether there is 4G or not. If they don't, that question will always be asked within the first few pages.
Please remove (original post I wrote was not very nice)
My bad, still new to forums....ill try searching and see what comes up.

Almost all the roms here right now (as of 2010-11-09) are based off the stock sense rom and feature 4g. The only ones that don't are CyanogenMod, MIUI, the recent EVO-DEV AOSP rom, and any others that are based of Cyanogen or the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). I don't think there are more than a couple besides the three I mentioned.
There are several that are AOSP-themed (without most HTC Sense features) but they are still based on the stock Sense rom and feature 4G.
Edit: I forgot about the Desire HD based ROMs, those won't have 4g either.
Thread moved to Q&A.
Fresh is a great, stable, everyday usage 4G rom

Well the best way to search for tons would be to look at the EVO wiki. It has a list of all the roms and whether or not they are sense based. There are also a list of kernels and various other things. Well ay least that's what I did web I started looking for roms and kernels and whatnot. I'm just saying.

i've been so caught up with aokp, codename, gummy, and cm9 that completely forgot about gingerbread in my search for a stable rom with good battery life where everything works and is almost as quick as ICS. on calk's v3.0, better battery life than any ics aosp rom will give, and there are absolutely no issues with sdcard or market or gps or cameras. albeit, it's definitely not as pretty, and i miss the hell out of my apex launcher (there are no comparable gb launchers), and the rom's almost triple in size o_o. if you're someone who values a fully functioning phone with awesome battery life, dont forget about your roots!

It doesn't looked anymore shopped than any real screen shot lol. I mean what do you see? A badly compressed jpeg with no or wiped exif..
Set your screen to the longest possible timeout or to never turn off and then display something black since its AMOLED. Can get some epic screen on times while doing nothing. Extended batteries help as well. I could easily double the screen on time i get to 4-5 hours doing so. Not sure about 7 ive never tried.

If you can send me a copy of your systemui.apk I can change it to look how you want I've done it before with my 3g on stock

You'll need to find a working modded SystemUI specifically for TW Odexed. If you wanna raise hell and shoot
for an overall theme or look for a specific icon changing.. look in the SIII's themes and app forum here

Hi i was wondering if it was possible to get a 4G only icon on international roms like omega or wanam lite. I don't want the 3g/h+ icons that they come with. Thank you!
Tmobile version comes with the 4g icon not the 3g/h+
I'm running the Bobcat Rom which is a rom built for the gt-i9505 on my tmo s4 and I had the same issue. It had the 3g/h+ icons with it too. But for some reason when I changed my build prop to reflect the SGH-M919 phone that I have, my icons changed to just 4G and LTE when I'm in coverage. It's weird. Here is a screen shot

I also added the T-Mobile LTE apn to get LTE working. I'm not sure what caused the icons to change tho.

They changed after you edited your build prop?
I can't remember if it was after I edited the build prop or after I added the LTE apn. But it definitely changed and that's all I did after flashing the rom and faux kernel

Great job! Is there a way to take off or switch the carrier label? Other than that everything's perfect. Oh and what gapps are you using?
