[Q] Don't know what RUU to use (softbricked) - HTC One X

Hi everybody,
I'm in deep poop right here.. I messed around with the roms a little bit and now I'm stuck with an ampty sdcard and clockworkmod.
I've tried pushing a rom through adb, but somehow it won't work on my phone/pc. So now I'm planning to go back to stock using RUU.
I've been trying several RUU's, but with no avail. I really don't know what to use right now so I'm asking for your help guys.
Here's some information I got:
CID: HTC__E11 (Dutch)
Main number: 4.18.401.2
Radio-5.1204.167.31
HBOOT: 1.72.0000
I also found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663718
But I wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to go back to stock 4.1.1. like they suggest here.
Please help me out guys you're my only hope!:crying::crying::crying::crying:

Why don't u this TWRP http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407579463
UMS works, but be patient and wait for a minute or two until it mounts.
Also, this recovery can flash JB and KK roms.

Yeah, done that. But unfortunately it's a common One x problem that the touchscreen doesn't work and the version without touch doesn't have the ADB/USBmount capabilities.
I've also been troubleshooting for a few hours on why the ADB doesn't work on my device as well, but again, to no avail.
Installing via RUU is pretty much my only option here I think :/

Did u even try the twrp from the link ??? I also have hboot1.72 and touchscreen works.
And you have no ruu for sense 5.

Sorry man, you're right, I should've tried it.
I just flashed it, but like the last time, the touch screen still doesn't work.
This might sound retarded, but if there's no RUU for sense 5, can't I just use one for sense 4?

Nevermind, This did work for me!!!!
I just had to give it a little time though
ADB doesn't work but that's got to do with windows 8.1
It also won't recognize the system storage, but it's allright as long as I can put a rom on it now.
Thanks for all the support everybody!
In the Philz recovery I made sure system and sdcard said "unmount" and went into "mount usb"
If you want to get system storage to work or for some reason the mass storage isn't working you should check this out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232799

Can you get into recovery? If so, you could try restoring nandroid and checking that the hboot file downloaded OK - if it came with an MD5 it's worth checking that - before giving it another go.
I've never used the flasher, just adb commands. Never had a problem flashing hboot tables.

Good news! To check your recovery you can either just boot into recovery and see what version you have, or remain booted and look in /sdcard/clockworkmod.settings (open as text file) to see the version number.
To flash hboots - check the instructions on the Alpharev site: www.alpharev.nl
EDIT: I found this post helpful as the instructions at alpharev are a little minimal at first sight. Obviously you are using the CM7 table not the Oxygen one!

Hi guys, I'm a little stuck/confused. When I boot my phone in Recovery Mode it says I'm running Clockwork Mod v2.5.0.1.
I installed a new version of ROM Manager (v3.0.1.0) flashed ClckworkMod Recovery and that says I have v 2.5.0.7 - so:
1. How do I ensure that the recovery mode is v 2.5.0.7
2. Do I need to unistall ROM Manager or,
3. Just leave it be?
System details:
Rooted HTC Desire
Android version 2.2.1
Baseband version 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
Kernel 2.6.32.36_rcmix_11032
Build number
RCMix HD v3.6.1 D2Ext Rotate
The numbers above don't mean much to me - I'm not a dev.
Thanks in advance.
*EDIT*
I've since downladed and installed the .zip found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=839640
It worked but ROM Manager still says the current recovery is version 2.5.0.7 although when I rebooted the writing was orange. I hope that makes sense to someone...

This is perfectly normal as 3.0.0.5 isn't an 'official'/final release yet.

Clockword Mod I/O Error

I flashed Cyanogen Mod 10.1 beta 5 (latest one when I flashed) on my One X and all was working fine for a few days, then the system randomly shutdown and on reboot got stuck into bootloop. I opened up clockwork mod but occasionally I get this message
Failed to open cache/recovery/log_data
(I/O Error)
Also if I go into "Advanced" and try to mount data, cache, sd card, etc I get an error saying that it can't
This happens around once a day and the only way I can get out of bootloop is to factory reset my phone
I've flashed new roms, even gone back to Android 4.1 but I still get the same error message.
I've reasearched and found nothing on this and have no clue what to do and help will be greately appreciated

There is no harm in manually mounting partitions how the op describes.
I make quite a few framework edits and it can cause problems changing the framework while android is running.
I quite often manually mount system in cwm as its easier than doing "adb shell mount /system"
But for the average user there is little need to do it as the installer scripts automatically mount the partitions that they need

My best guess was a ruu but i can almost say for 99% its not leaked yet.
Can actually still flash a rom ? Or does it stall somewhere in the process ?

We need to know which stock system version you had to get the right kernel ideally or if you have a custom recovery you could go and flash a new rom which will have a kernel to go with it (depending on your hboot version).

Flash this recovery, your battery does NOT charge in that old recovery
http://db.tt/SPXdFfPw
Then flash the boot.img from the cm10 rom. Its inside the zip
Then you make a full wipe in the recovery and install cm10 and right after that the gapps file (all can be downloaded from the cm10 thread)
Reboot and done
Edit :
All flashing can be done with the toolkit

You can put files into the storage by booting into cwm recovery, selecting mount USB storage, and connecting it to your computer.
For how to flash ROMs, look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904 second post.
Battery too low ?
Oke put this file inside the fastboot folder on the pc (you have the fastboot.exe file, should be in one of the folders in the toolkit dir)
http://db.tt/aLqeTpPO
Execute this file with the phone in the bootloader ! It will continuing to loop your bootloader and charge it little by little. Let it run for about 30 min and then flash again the recovery. The recovery name must be just "recovery.img" so rename it if needed

[Q] Can't boot after failed root attempt

SOLVED
So today I decided I would try to install a custom OS/ROM whatever it's called on my HTC One X. I unlocked the bootloader successfully without any problems. Then I went on to root the phone, and this is where it all went wrong. I found a tutorial and followed it to the tiniest detail. I am unable to link to it because I am a new user. When my phone rebooted it went to the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" boot screen. I left it there for 30 minutes and it still didn't move on. What do I do now? I am a super noob at this, and I admit that I am an idiot for not reading more up on it first, it just all seems so super complicated.
Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.

No, no error, it said "Daemon launched successfully" or something along those lines, my phone turned off and turned back on to the HTC boot screen.
Ok, try this: if the phone is still on keep the power button pressed till it restarts and press also vol down button until you arenin the bootloader; if the device is off, enter bootloader keeping power and vol down button pressed... Now my suggestion is to flash a custom recovery and a custom rom, you will get root privileges and the phone will work again...

If you are unlocked (you see it in bootloader) you can flash a custom recovery and a custom rom. Look up for your favorite Recovery and flash it.
Download the img File to directory where you have the fastboot files and run this code in command prompt
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
After it you can boot into Bootloader and turn to recovery to get access to phone and SD Card/flash Rom
Did you flash boot.img and erased the cache?

Okay, so I successfully flashed TWRP and launched into recovery mode with it. How I get the custom ROM files on my SD card, when I plug my phone into my computer with USB it doesn't show up in the drives section, so I can't open up the SD card.
Another thing is that with the latest version of TWRP for my phone touch doesn't work in the recovery mode. There's a version that does, but it says it doesn't have USB mount or something like that. What's the next step?
You need to mount sd card via recovery, and having the touchscreen working is better as it will be easier to move inside aroma installer... Use philz recovery (if you want a sense rom use 5.15.9, if you want kitkat use the last version), enter the recovery, plug the phone into pc, mount sdcard via recovery, copy the zip over it and follow the instructions to install rom... You can find the instructions in every rom thread op... Ask if you need more help

Thank you! It finally showed up on my PC after a minute. I wanted to try Android 4.4.2 KitKat custom ROM "Carbon" so I want to ask a bit of an off-topic question. What are the GApps thing that I am told to install with the ROM? Why are they so important, what do they do?

those are google apps (i bet you understood what they are for just reading the full name ) i'm sorry to tell you that philz 5.15.9 can't flash 4.4.2 android, so you should update it... but now you have the zip on sdcard at least... give a look at latest TWRP you can find here in the OP #2 (everyhing should work with this version, but i still didn't test it, so i can't ensure it... i told you to use Philz 5.15.9 because i was 100% sure USB mount works with that recovery, and we needed to put a rom zip on sdcard ) now that you understood how things work, you can choose the recovery you want according to your reqirements have a nice flash man, and feel free to ask me if you need any further help

I flashed to the newest Philz recovery again and successfully installed both ROM and GApps. Rebooting phone now, I hope it works... Been on HTC screen for a while though.

have you flashed boot.img via fastboot and erased cache via fastboot? the commands are
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
remember that first boot can take a while (in some cases up to ten minutes)
