Hi all,
I bought a SG Note 2 from eBay. When I got it I saw a solid red light flashing I then took the battery out and plugged it back in. When I saw that the solid red flash light turn back on without me pressing the power button I was quite worried so I immediately googled the problem, to my horror the result weren't what I was expecting....I'm doubting this to be a dead eMMC issue? The only problem is that the LCD is cracked so I cannot see what's displayed on the screen...Could someone please help me resolve this problem.
Red light doesn't lit up on powering on. It lits up while charging. If your phone's screen is black with red light, then it's a SDS case. If its in warranty, immediately go to service center and get it fixed. Or else you need to pay for motherboard replacement.

Thanks for your reply, Do you think changing the eMMC flash and then try resurrecting the phone with the GPG sboot cable will work?

The notification LED (Red when charging, red blinking on notification, blue when fully charging) is always ON in RED. Regardless if the phone is on or off. It will obviously turn off if I pull the battery, however as soon as a put the battery back in, it turns on and stays on. Doesnt effect anything on the phone that I can notice, but its just always on.
Any ideas?
Possible water damage. Are you using a rom other than Stock? When did this problem start? Try and think back to when the problem started.you may have an App causing you Led to stay lit.

I bought it used. So water damage is a possibility, although the stickers that turn pink when they get wet are still white and the phone is like brand new, not a scratch on it.
Its running the Sony XPLOD rom from the ROM section here. It was doing it back when it was stock though. I assumed it was a possible rom issue, so I rooted/CWM'd/installed a diff rom.
Same deal tho, RED light is still on. Turns purple when fully charged tho! (Blue comes on while red is already on)
I know you said it was "stock" when purchased but did you do a full wipe prior to or after flashing your current ROM? Worth a shot if not.

Sounds like it could be water damage to me. You can buy new stickers, so those don't mean anything. I think there are also stickers inside the unit.
Sounds like the red light is stuck in an ON position. If this happens with all roms, its a hardware issue.
Does it come on as soon as you power on the device? If not, than I would think software.
I'd use one click Odin return to compete stock ek02 flash, run it for awhile and see if the problem happens again.
I say hardware problem same thing happens to mine aswell. I cant code but if we can get someone to develop a script or something that can disable the light that would be great because im sure it causes battery drain
I dropped my HOX and I got another HOX with working mainboard. I replaced it and everything worked except for very faint backlight and flickering. So I disassembled the phone and put it back together again. Now I can't start the phone anymore and the solid red led burns when connected to the charger....after I connect it it flickers one time, very fast. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? So pissed of right now...
Hi, if you don't have any power at all eg no vibration or lights on three bottons at the bottom, it could be that the power connecter is not properly plugged in. follow cabble down from power button, plug is hard to get at unless you unstick power button from cassie.
If you have some power check lcd is working by using a bright light near the screen and closely checking to see if you can see anything, could be backlight not working.
just my 2cents
feel bad for ya!

Okay, I have experienced the same thing and I'll tell you what I did to fix it. I dropped my HOX after owning for only a few days and the screen was cracked. I ordered a replacement LCD/ screen digitizer part and took it apart. One of the things that I found was that there was adhesive everywhere, including adhesive on the connection to the battery.
After it was taken apart, I attempted to test the new screen. It was then the LED turned solid red and the phone would not power on (even after 10 minutes of charging). What I did was remove the adhesive from he battery connector and disconnected the battery completely. I plugged it back in 10 seconds later and it turned back to flashing green (which is normal because I had several missed texts).
So my solution was just to unplug the battery and it worked just fine. The hardest part about this whole process was putting the cover back on, especially on the side with volume buttons! Hope that helps.
I have exactly the same problem. The difference is that now that I took it off charge, the red light is flickering on and off. I cannot get the display to show! Please please help.
hi, when I connect charger or the USB nothing happens, only the LED that turns red and after a while the screen turns gray. Upon opening it I saw that the "roles" whites, indicating that cellular was wet, are red. some may be told that the screen, I particularly think that the battery is faulty. Who can help me I am very grateful.

I don't now, is not my phone, is a friend, I think so but he would not tell.
Hey guys, I really need your help. My S4 came back from a failed repair due to voiding my warranty. But now I'm having trouble booting it up? I can see what's going on because of my broken digitizer but I when I tried to replace the screen, I can see a yellow triangle with temperature gauge...Did Samsung break my phone? Because this didn't happen before I got it back from them. Anyways, that self-repair failed on me too, and I now I can't see anything other than a blinking red light when I plug my phone to charge. Sometimes a blue pulsating light when I press the power button during the blinking red light is happening. I have never been frustrated with a phone in my life. What are my options? Should I just get a new S4?
My phone have a red light when I try turn on. I cant put it in recovery moderno, cant turn on.. nothing... any solution?
That probably means the battery is too discharged to start up the main processor. Leave it charging overnight.
If it eventually has the red light go away but the screen does not come on, check with LG to see if they will repair it under warranty. I've got one currently there with them with a similar issue and is being repaired (or replaced. not sure yet) free of charge. I didn't even buy it, but found it in a dumpster. No proof of purchase needed.
My first one did the same, I sent it back to Amazon, got a full refund and bought a new one.
Hey, Any news about your problem ?
My friend give me his old phone and he has the same behaviour, he blinked red (or orange) for 10 sec and now there is nothing. He doesn't turn on, but on the top i can feel a little heat between the fingerprint and the camera. So there is some power in. On iFixit it seems that at this position, there is the Qualcomm power IC.
He bought the phone more than 2 years so now I think they will be no warranty so what should I do, contact LG to try ?
cheers
