When I connected my Tab Pro 8.4 to my laptop just now, the battery status jumped from 93% to 100%. My workaround solution is to charge the tablet with the USB wall charger and wait for it to indicate a full battery to know that it is truly at 100%. I will get a notification to unplug once it's fully charged. From there, I think that the battery status is accurate...until I connect the tablet to my laptop again.
Why does this only happen when I connect the tablet to my laptop? This doesn't happen every single time, but enough times to cause annoyance. Is there a better fix to this? Thanks...

Hello all,
I am facing a weird issue and will be grateful if some solution is available for the same.
What Happened:
1) I had connected to a PC via a USB cable for data transfer.
Observations:
1) The cellphone had shut down unexpectedly
2) Battery was overheated
Steps taken after the issue:
1) Removed the batter for 5 minutes
2) Inserted the battery
3) Cellphone started working once again
Issues after all the dilemma:
1) Battery had drained out at the end of the day
2) Connected AC charger, and the cellphone showed 100% charged immediately as soon as it was connected.
3) Same thing happened when connected with USB
4) Still kept it connected to the charger overnight. The phone was charged, completely.Happily used it for the full day but at the end of the day again the battery was drained out again. During this the indicator did not refresh at all. The batter indicator was full during discharge fo the battery
5) And now the phone cannot connect to the USB for charging or data transfer as well.
I will appreciate any help for this issue
Thanks in advance!
i face some problem. Just take your phone to service center. Now my phone don't act like this
I think you need to re-calibrate you battery. Try Zep* battery calibrator or download one from the market, or you can do it manually, just search xda on battery calibration.
Hi
My 8 months old HOX will barly charge. It is like its using a lot of battery all the time. When connected to wall charger, the red LED lights. When I trying to turn it on, it has maby 2% battery, I have tried to let it charge for 8 hours, and 10 minutes, still the same. In the status bar, it shows the phone is charging, but wont gain any more battery. Im losing 100-200mAh, even when the phone is in stock wall charger. I have tried connecting to laptop, but there, I wont even get the phone on there. Early today, I got a warning, somthing about connecting to a battery eliminator.
Im using Battery Doctor to view the battery percentage, and Currentwidget to measure the current.
My phone is rooted, running Revolution ROM
Thanks
I calibrated my note 8. After charing my note to 100% and used it the next day, then it reach 93%.. then i connect it to a laptop using my original usb cable. then after transfering my files i noticed that my battery reach 100% again even if i only connected it for about 5mins, is it normal? is it the effect of battery calibration? thanks for your answers
hi there.
i bought a brand new Galaxy Tab S 10.5, ive been charging it overnight. on the screen i always see that it is at 100%(while the device is off).
as soon as i unplug the charger and turn the device on, battery drops down to 99%.
however, as soon as i reconnect the charger while the device is on, it then charges to 100% and stays on 100% for a bit after some use.
just wondering if others have the same issue? or if its normal for it to not charge/stay on 100%?
and also how quick do others devices drop down from fully charged to 98 or 97%? because mine seems to last just a few minutes between the full charge-97%, when its updating apps and receiving notifications once I turn it on.
the battery will not be charged if it reachs 100% . btw it is normal , you dont have to be worry

ok, but how quick is it meant to drop down from fully charged to 98 or 97%
there isn't much running in the background. checked it using task manager and i only have basic apps running on the tab.
especially when its updating apps or on initial start up....it drops down within a few minutes.
I also face this kind of problem right after I bought this Tab, but 8.4 version, it will stuck at charging 100% for a long time but from 15 to 100 only takes 2 hour. Plus ,the battery drain a lot.Drop 1% in a minute.. But after a few cycle it gets better and dont have this kind of problem anymore.

ok cool. well i'll try a few charging cycles then.
also, when i connect it to the Desktop PC with the USB cord, it shows on the tablet that it isn't charging, it has an ex on the battery icon.....but in actual fact, the battery percentage does go up??? how or why??

The X on your battery icon, when connected to PC means that you do not have enough power from a USB port to charge the device. The tab recognizes that it is connected to a USB source but the USB port is not outputting enough voltage to charge your tablet. This is normal. These tablets are not meant to be charged from a computer. Nothing to worry about

I have the tab on sitting on my desk connected to PC. It charges, but if you use it at the same time charging can hardly keep up.
If I remember correctly it charges around 5 % an hour when connected to my PC.
HI can anyone tell me if there is any way to resolve this. I think is has started since doing the upgrade to Android 10 earlier this week.
I normally put my phone onto the wireless charger before going to bed and I have noticed recently that when I grab it in the morning the battery percentage is sitting around the 90% mark. I initially thought the charger was not able to charge to 100% but on further examination I see that it indeed charged to 100% after I placed it on the charger and then the charging stopped and the phone ran on battery until I removed it in the morning.
I confirmed this this morning by replacing it on the charger and watching it charge (like watching paint dry ). The charger light was blue while charging, when the phone hit 100% the charger light turned to green but after about 30s it completely switched off and so too did the indication on the lock screen that a charger is connected. Removing and reseating the phone started charging again.
It definitely looks to be software related as I did not have this problem last week. I just wanted to ask if anyone here has noticed this and knows of any workaround?
For the record I am running fast wireless charging with the samsung wireless charger that came with my wifes S8, that charger works perfectly with my older Note8. I have also tried switching to normal wireless charging speed with no success.

Unplug the charger from its power source and plug it in again, causing it to 'reboot'. Let us know the results. Note, there is an option to set the wireless charging to NOT be fast during certain hours of the day. I set mine so it charges slowly while I am sleeping - to put less stress on the battery. Your charger may be a little old as well if you got it with a note 8 or S8 - ?

IMO this is a good feature to stop the wireless charger cooking your battery.
Maybe turn down your AOD brightness or something, to use 10% within a couple of hours of being idle is pretty high. Maybe turning off fast wireless charging would extend the charge time so it finishes nearer to when you wake up could help too.
Thanks for the feedback however it does sound like workarounds for an issue that should not be present (apart from rebooting the charger which I will try when I get home).
For me wireless charging should act just like wired charging in that when it reaches 100% the phone should essentially run off the charger now and not use battery at all. Every other phone with wireless charging that I have had worked that way, this is just plain stupid.
Willhemmens its not a couple hours, looking at the battery graph if I go to bed at 10pm and put the phone on the charger it pretty much hits 100% around 11:30 and then is at 90% at 7am, so it is 10% over 7 hours which is ok in my books, but reality is that during this time the phone has another source of power that it can and should use. It did before I applied the Android 10 update.
I have had this issue every now and again, and I found that rebooting it takes care of the issue.
An update. This morning I tried my wife's wireless charger and when the phone reaches 100% it continues to show the charge icon. Put my wife's note 8 into the wireless charger and it exhibited my problem.
So it looks like this is a problem with the wireless charger and not the phone.
Thanks for the answers guys I am of to try buy a new wireless charger
edit - New charger solved the problem.
