question about cm on the note 2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

So I was looking on the cm website and I see the t0ltetmo only has cm10 which I think is jb mr2. But the t0lte which is the international version has cm11. So I was under the impression that the t0lte and t0ltetmo and att were basically the same as far as hardware goes. So can I use the t0lte roms on my t0ltetmo phone?

I have had success flashing att and n7105(t0lte) roms. so you should be able to. here is a link to an unofficial cm11 for tmo http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565259

thank you for your help. I just flashed the latest AOKP on my mphone and its 4.4.2 and it runs good except I dont get good service on it. Well I mean my data speeds are all messed up. I seem to only be able to get hspa speeds not hspa+ or lte. I am using simple mobile. I dont know if that has anyuthing to do with it or not. Maybee I need to fix something in the build.prop I dont know.
I wonder how AOKP got 4.4.2 when it is based off cm. Maybe they use the internatinal t0lte version as a base.

I doubt the aokp is a port they probably built it from source which doesn't require a base

Just wondering if someone knows the work required to get this to all LTE devices including our t889?
4.2 would probably pull me off teshxx's seriously solid 4.1.2
Madmack over the att Note 2 has a working cm10.1 4.2 for all lte variants. Unfortunately, the voice in call is not working atm. He and other devs are working together for a fix. So I would say soon we will have a working cm10.1 for our phone.

There's actually a guide in the international forum to flash any n7100 rom to a N7105 or Carrier version.

Yes any STOCK ROM. Unfortunately our radio chip is different then the 7100's. Our radio chips also uses different audio paths. We need to fix audio from the radio before we can have a daily driver. Madmack, codeninja, and a few others are working on that. AOSP != Samsung TouchWiz. The way the AOSP kernel talks to the ROM != the way stock kernels talk to ROMs.
Note: != means 'does not equal' for those who don't know.

[Q] N7105 Roms on the SGH-T889?

Can roms, specifically from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1960 be installed on the T-Mobile GN2? If so, are there any modem / radio issues with the latest TMo radio or is there a better N7105 radio that should be used / recommended?
For the most part yes. I'd stick with roms from AT&T version however. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1875
If you see a ROM on AT&T version, and also see it on the t0lte (international LTE), then I'd presume it be safe to install the international lte version.
Personally I've only tested PAC and Rootbox. Anything else on t0lte that you try is all on your own
But generally speaking, as long as the t0lte rom you installed does not include the modem, it's good to go. Just don't go flashing the GT-N7100 ones; only GT-N7105 if you don't want the AT&T roms.
t0lteatt YES
t0lte MAYBE
For kernel, most people would recommend NEAK and you can find that in the GT-N7100 forum.

Thanks, that is what I assumed. I actually have installed the Carbon t0lte rom before (late night, wasn't paying attention) without issue and worked fine, never have installed a t0lteatt rom.
With that said, there seemed to be more dev options on the international variant so I was curious. I saw conflicting answers in a search so figured I'd ask again. If I do take the plunge, I'll report back with the end result.
Forgot to add, I would stay away from the international GT-N7100 touchwiz based roms though as some people say the kernels they use may have issues with US variants.

Agreed. There are hardware differences on the N7100 compared to the N7105 I have read about.
Only plan on using 7105 variants moving forward.

Sweet ROMs in the international forum

Hadn't been over there in quite a while, but the N7105 forums have some sweet ROMs if you're looking for a change that should work fine on our phones...
Currently running "CM Remix" which has everything but the kitchen sink for an AOSP rom, and so far seems very smooth and stable

They should all be safe to flash. Same hardware on the internal LTE variant.
The build.prop and APNs may vary slightly, but many of the ROMs in this forum are exactly the same as their international versions anyway

By checking for a modem in the zip as the n7105 modem isn't compatible with AT&T or t-mobile. If modem is in the zip I usually just replace with proper modem for your carrier.

No since it's AT&T you will need an AT&T modem in the phone as any other modem will cause an unknown baseband.

Got it, thanks!
Still running the ROM I mentioned in the OP, and it has too many features and too few flaws (none!) for me to try any other!
New build made yesterday - gonna try that, though
BTW, didn't have to change anything to get it optimized for the ATT model- even the APNs were all set up (unless maybe I restored settings that I wasn't aware of)...
1st Nov 2014 (ver 3.0.5.0 STABLE Fix)
Kernel : bundled with latest agni kernel ( Boeffla Sound version with new wifi module)
Update SuperSu to ver 2.16
native support to F2FS (no need to flash any convertor, native support F2FS partition of System. Internal data and Cache partition)
Fixed ART mode * (1 st Nov 2014)

Should be fine! Just back up as you always would with TWRP and make sure you backup the modem as well. That way you'll always have one backed up if you need it just in case...
Yep, as long a modem isn't included in the zip (which it *typically* isn't in the case of AOSP based roms), you're good to go.
I personally don't even flash t0lteatt roms when they're available and instead use their t0lte counterparts, as the t0lte versions are sometimes more likely to be updated more often (and in some cases the t0lteatt device tree has been abandoned entirely!)
And if anyone's wanting to build a rom from source, while we're on the topic of AOSP roms, the t0lte tree is the way to go as far as the Galaxy Note 2 LTE models are concerned.

What reminded me to check the international forum was when I went to deactivate my old phones in Google Play Music, I noticed most of them were listed as an N7105- and all of the ROMs were downloaded from this forum anyway...
I was wondering about trying Roms from that forum too. I kept seeing posts where someone said something about a DN4 Rom. So I looked it up and downloaded..........only to find that it is not one of the Roms that works on our phone.......as of yet. It did flash and start up, but before I could make it past the welcome screen, I got a bunch of pop-ups about various items "quit working." And they kept coming back. And then I had the unknown baseband with no signal.................basically it just doesn't work. Damn shame too, cause it looked so nice. But this did make me look at the other Roms and I will be trying a few of them. I must say though, DN4 had my mouth watering for the GN4 experience on my 2.

You can only flash roms from the n7105 section. The roms in the development and original development sections won't work

CyanogenMod question.

Hello guys! So I just had a quick question about the t0ltetmo ROMs from CyanogenMod. I asked on their Facebook page but some jack off that "works for CyanogenMod" was just rude as hell, and called me stupid. So does anyone know if CyanogenMod unified the t0lte ROM and is safe for flashing on other variants? The t0ltetmo, t0lteatt etc. Thanks guys! And if you could, send me a link where they announced that? I saw the post that said they were going to make a unified ROM but they never posted and said it was done. Thanks all!
From my experience if you see t0lte, t0lteatt, t0ltetmo, N7105, it should be fine to install if your device is any of those you just may happen to flash a modem afterward if the ROM includes one and it isn't your device.
In short, it's safe.

Thanks! So even if the ROM wasn't unified, it has no way of bricking my phone real bad? If it doesn't work, it can be restored with a backup? Cuz yea, I have the t-mobile version, and the ROM I'm talking about was made for the international. It MAY be unified, not sure.

t0lteatt. Wish I had the t0ltetmo since I'm on T-Mobile and this ATT one won't get LTE some reason

[Q] Does the CM12.1 d2tmo work with an S3 d2lte?

I see that the nightly branch for the d2lte has not been updated for a while.
Can I use the d2tmo builds for my d2lte?
I'm guessing I will lose LTE capabilities. What about 4G?
Anything else I would lose? If it even works for my phone that is.
Thanks!
Yes, it will work, I am using it just fine on my D2lte.. for the speeds I am get H+ data.. is that close to 4G?

I think H+ is slower than 4G but faster than 3G. Not that it matters in my case though since 4G pretty much sucks in my country.
So what should I do? I have the latest TWRP and latest nightly build for the d2lte.
Just download the latest 12.1 nightly for the d2tmo and flash?

I like the easter egg. you could play flappy bird from it Lollipop is ok for me.. it takes away lock screen short cuts tho. i barely used it anyway The thing i dont like is the Data toggle switch it takes 2 clicks vs. wifi it takes only 1.
I have to bump this thread since the d2tmo 5.1 builds are not working for me.
I was able to flash just fine but modem is not working. I cannot connect to my provider via normal cellphone nor data.
I was wondering if anyone knows if I could flash my d2lte with a d2tmo CM12.1 build and then flash it with the latest modem for my phone: TMOGalaxyS3LTE_UVUBNC1_Modem.zip
Would this work or would I brick it somehow?
Thanks!

What modem is currently on your phone? You may need to update your d2lte bootloader and modem to the latest kit kat to resolve the issue.

I reverted back to the last available CM 11 nightly for d2lte and newest modem for the LTE which is TMOGalaxyS3LTE_UVUBNC1_Modem and everything is working again.
I'm currently on TWRP 2.8.7.0.
So if I understood correctly, it would be safe for me to flash my d2lte with the cm 12.1 d2tmo builds and then flash it with the s3 lte modem?
Thanks
The latest d2tmo rom may not work unless you flash the d2tmo rom followed by a d2lte kernel.
I do recommend cross flashing the modems between the two phones.
Flashing cm12.1 builds does not change the phone's modem or bootloader.
