I wiped my Galaxy S3 completely. It was an accident. I didn't realize I has system checked off. Luckily, I was able to enter download mode and root it through Odin. It reboots into recovery after that, but it says "Signature Verification Failed" every time I try to flash the zip from my SD card. What can I do to fix this? Is there a way to get a recovery onto there to make it easier? Can I flash the zip through Odin (I think I'd need a tar.md5 so I'd need help there, too)?
All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you! I hope there is something I can do still!

Hi guys,
Keep in mind: I don't know what I'm doing. I only know what tutorials say, and I don't really understand the mechanics of flashing ROMs.
Problem: I'm in a boot loop. I want to go to stock, or CM11 4.4.2 . I was recovering data after flashing CM 11 4.3 (CM installer) successfully.
I have TWRP installed, but my recovery caused my phone to enter a boot loop state. I can't access the internal storage, and I don't have a micro-sd. What is the next step? I have Odin, but I don't understand what to do. As far as I know I need to boot an image file using the phone's download function?
I have these files on my desktop, but they aren't .tar:
CM11 For T-Mobile Galaxy S3 SGH-T999 [Filename: cm-11-20131217-NIGHTLY-d2tmo.zip]
Google Apps [Filename: gapps-kk-20131119.zip]
So once I'm able to acccess my sd card I'll be a able to put those files back onto my SD and install those zips using TWRP?
I'm really out of my depth and am scared of hard bricking my phone, so please be kind!
Thanks in advance!

Don't panic! Does your phone enter Download mode and it's recognized by Odin? if so, flash the stock image via Odin, you can find the links here, read the second post on this link, it gives you detailed instructions how to flash via Odin
Make sure you're choosing the correct model, otherwise you will brick your phone!
I flashed the .tar file for the 4.1.2 JB, let Odin finishes, after that your device will be restarted, let it there for about 5-10 minutes, if it doesn't get past the samsung screen, enter to the stock recovery (vol up + menu +power), and do a factory reset, after that restart, and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps, best of luck!
I went through the normal procedure of installing a new ROM, I wiped w/factory reset, got hit with a "status 7" error. I looked it up and it's apparently a problem with conflicting recovery manager files. That makes sense because I have CWM recovery and it asked me to install TWRP. I guess you can't have both?
I followed a tutorial explaining how to edit the userscript file to bypass the error and it seemed like it was going to install at first but I still got hit with it. Now my computer doesn't recognize my s3 (d2spr) so I have to put the files on an external microSD. I tried to restore from CWM but it wouldn't let me. I'm pretty new to this stuff so I'm not sure how to proceed from here.
Your best option is Odin back to stock and start over again.

Thanks
Hi All,
I performed a factory reset from the menu on my SGH-I747 a couple of days ago, and been lost since then.
The phone restarted, and kept being stuck on the boot menu (initial samsung logo appears, then the AT&T logo, and then the samsung logo kept flashing forever).
I've tried the following:
* Emergency Recovery from Kies - I got an error message that the version update cannot be initialized.
* Flashing from Odin - flashing of 4.1.1/2 seemed to be going well until it ended, but booting still didn't work.
* Flashing from recovery mode - I keep getting an 'e verification failed' message on anything i'm trying to flash from my external drive.
I tried flashing a recover mode without verification, but that didn't work - not sure I have the correct file though. Does anyone have it?
If you have other ideas, it'd be really great.
Thanks!
What exactly are you currently running? (Rom, firmware/bootloaders, recovery)? What exactly have you tried flashing?
What error did you get in Odin?
You'll want the d2att recovery.
I tried all of them.
Tried the factory rom for 4.1.1, 4.1.2 and 4.3.
Then i figured the booloader was wrong, but couldn't find the correct bootloader.
As for recovery - tried the twrp recovery and the one which came with the phone. those did work, but when trying to flash from external drive i either get a verification failure (on regular recover), or an error about not being able to mount /data (on twrp).
Odin - no errors. Everything seems to be working fine, i get an OK message, phone boots, but still 'hangs' after loading the new ROM. (which again, makes me think it's the bootloader)
I tried finding a bootloader, but all links i could find link to hotfile.com which is not available anymore. any thoughts? other things you can think of?
Thanks!!

If the odin flash was successful, you should be able to factory reset from recovery and it ought to boot up. If not, flash the firmware with Odin again, but check the repartition checkbox this time.

Ah!!! Performed factory reset from recovery, that seemed to have sorted it all... thanks for the help Doc!

We need to know what bootloader was on your phone. Does TWRP still work?

I did another stupid thing and the twrp doesnt work anymore. How do I check my bootloader?
Let's get your phoneup and running for now.
Do you have an external SD card? If you do, copy the latest CM11 for the d2lte to the card.
Use Odin to install the most recent tar version of Philz Touch for the d2lte from here: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/ . Do no check anything except F.Reset.Time in Odin.
Once you see Reset in the Odin's status window, disconnect the USB cable, pull the battery.
Insert the SD card into your phone. Insert the battery, boot into recovery, and flash CM11, reboot the phone.
Tried installing with Odin but it keeps failing. It says "Unsupported dev_type"
Odin is giving that error message?
Make sure you are flashing the correct tar.md5 file. It goes in the PDA box of Odin.

My phone is giving that message. The file I downloaded was zip. When I tried renaming it, it wouldnt let me
Unzip it. Odin only flashes .tar and .tar.md5

Download the tar.md5 file. No need to unzip the file. Just flash it in the PDA box in Odin.
Sorry, I was thinking of full firmware, not just the recovery.

Hey guys,
New to the forum, if I need to post this elsewhere, please say so and I will!
So I have been successfully running cyanogenmod 11 for about 6mo now. Two days ago, my google account wouldnt sync anymore.
I read up on it and it was a corruption in a file and I needed to restore my cyanogenmod
Heres where I f'd up. I took the phone into TWRP, had my backup on my SD card so I wiped the rest of the phone. I accidentally did not uncheck the box for my SD card and wiped it too.
Now, I have no OS installed and im stuck in a boot loop.
I tried launching odin on my PC and reloading the factory firmware but it fails everytime. I took it to best buy and they couldnt fix it with their smart tool. And I cant send it back to samsung because it shows that Ive flashed it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Josh
You can get into download mode? You tripped the knox counter on your phone?
Yes I can. And recovery as well. And yes, it's tripped
Personally, I would flash the latest version of Philz Touch in Odin, copy a custom ROM to your external SD card, boot into Philz recovery, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe Dalvik, flash the ROM, and reboot. This should at least get your phone up and running.
I consider myself decent at tech related stuff. However I have no idea what you just said. Link to a step by step or YouTube video?
The issue with Odin was that it failed seconds after I started the upload (last time) will that not be an issue here?
Odin probably failed because you were trying to downgrade the bootloader which is not allowed. Do you remember the error you got in Odin?
Download the latest tar.md5 file from here: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/
Download the latest CM10.2 and put it onto your external SD card. I know CM10.2 is but you need to get your phone working so you can determine the bootloader version on your phone. Place the SD card into the phone.
Launch Odin 3.07, make sure everything is unchecked except for F.reset time. Click on PDA, browse and select the tar.md5 file you downloaded, boot phone in download mode, connect phone to computer, flash recovery. When you see the word reset in the status window, disconnect the USB cable, pull the battery, boot into recovery mode, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe Dalvik, flash CM10.2, reboot.
Ok I'll give it a whirl tomorrow most likely. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the help!
