Hi
Does anybody knows an app that can map the power key to end calls when it is long-pressed or double-pressed? The option to end calls with a single key press is a little bit confusing because usually it is beeing used to unlock the screen.
Thanks

Im not 100% sure about this but, there are xposed modules that do what you want. Try gravity box or xblast modules

There are apps that use the proximity sensor to control music controls or even unlock the phone from one. Type on proximity or something and they should pop up, I know this is not what you are looking for but could be an option for now

There are some mods which let you reprogram your home button. You should check out Xposed framework. Also, you could go for a virtual bar which emulates home, menu and back button. There is a very nice app which is called something like "dynamic app bar" in the play store. Maybe you could use that app to create a special button for music controls.

Hi,
Is there any way to enable volume adjustment when the phone is locked? (using volume keys on the phone or on a headset)
When I was using CM on my old Nexus S I was able to do this.
I'm on Wicked v7 ROM, but I think this was the same also on stock.
Thanks

I actually want the opposite to happen. I don't want someone being able to mute my phone without me knowing. Running BeanStalk
I'm talking about the media volume actually. When I'm listening to music I would like to be able to raise or lower the volume without unlocking the phone.

You should be able to. I'm on Wicked v7 and can raise/lower volume when screen shut off and phone is lock.
Either with the buttons on the phone or headphones.
You could even skip to next or previous track with settings in Wicked Control.
Is there any setting to enable this?
I know about track control, but I'm more interested in volume.

I don't think you have to do anything, it just work like that. I don't remember having to enable it or anything.

Yeah it works fine just tapping up or down. I use my phone for music more than I use it for anything else and that and long press to skip are crucial to me. I'm running wicked 7 now as well

I am fully stocked.
When the phone is locked, to turn down the volume I just use the volume buttons, they work just fine.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I've gone in and disabled the loud volume warning in Xposed AND Wanam, and it isn't helping.
I'm wondering if those of us having difficulties chose something when installing with Aroma that was different from the people having no issues. Is there something we could have done differently on install? I'm starting to get really frustrated. 90% of what I use my phone for is music.
Also, are the other people having problems using the Music2sD feature from Xposed? Could that be creating an issue somewhere?
Note: When the screen is off, you cannot adjust the volume continuously by long holding the button. You have to press it multiple times separately to step thru the volume levels! It's a supposed safety measure so you dont blast it while trying to pull the phone out, which happened to me alot on my old phone. Maybe it works for some of you but u didn't notice because you only got +1 step?

I don't think it has anything to do with Xposed, since the issue was there even before I installed it. (I only installed it to try to SOLVE the issue)

Hi, is your phone rooted?
If you are rooted and using Xposed Framework, there are two apps that I have used and both confirmed working that have long press vol key to skip track option among several other tweaks and customization options.
Wanam Xposed (only for Stock Samsung 4.2+ JB) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383484
XBlastTools (for 4.0+ android) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294419
Xposed Framework - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
How to install and what they do are on their own individual pages
Alternatively, PlayerPro has a built in shake to change and override volume controls for long press (in lockscreen tab)
My phone is rooted, but I don't know what deposed framework is..

Check this guide on what Xposed is and how it works. http://www.addictivetips.com/android/what-is-xposed-framework-for-android-how-to-install-it-guide/
It also has a guide with pics showing how to install modules on it.
How to install the framework and the modules is also given on the original thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Basically, it's a easy way to do any number of modifications to your system files without knowing the details and not having to flash for each module.
Once you are through with that, you can go to Module's List or just install one of the two in my above post.
Please make sure that you install only modules that are compatible with your phone, each module will have specific requirements so read those before you install.

Is there any mod to replace menu with recent apps button as on stock Android? I find recent apps more useful than rarely used menu.
There is if you are rooted. First you'll need the Xposed installer, then the module for the G2. You can use the free module for this.
Use search, there are threads on xda where you'll find the links to these mods.

You can view recent Apps by long pressing on the Home menu icon
Yes, but not being able to just tap it is extremely annoying.
What were they thinking?
