[Q] MIUI V5 Android version 4.2.2 - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently installed the MIUI rom on the GT-i8160 and I'm gonna cut to the chase. I enabled root permission on that rom. I installed ES File Explorer and opened it. When I clicked on 'Root Explorer' a message popped up saying something like 'sorry but this service has failed'
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

My phone was already rooted after I installed the jelly bean update XXMC8. Before MIUI I was on Cyanogenmod 10.1

[Q] Wtf just happened to the root? Benjaminn and other devs, please help. :\

I don't know what happened to the root of my phone (wildfire s A510e) everything was working just fine but recently from 2-3 the root is not working, just the Es File Manager app is working.. And when I run any other thing which requires root like the "Busybox Installer", they say that there is no root. But I downloaded the app "root checker" from the market and it says that I'm rooted :O ... I rooted my phone 2 times - 1. By flashing the root.zip file by xda.cn 2. Htc supertools v3 ..
Nothing seems to solve the problem ...please help me...if you want I can give you the logcat too...lol. It was working just fine before, but don't know what happened.
I don't want to flash the rom again, because I'll have to install all the apps again. :O I'm using modpunk's CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0_marvel-ALPHA2. Help me please??
Do you have superuser installed?
backup......reinstall.....restore......donnee!
Just for knowledge............there's a Q&A section RIGHT HERE
In superuser, check your Binary version.

Huh? That is modpunk's port. Benjamin just typed a few commands and waited a few hours for it build from modpunk's git. Anyone can do that. He hasn't contributed any code to the project at all, so I'm struggling to see where you got this idea that it's by him.
Stay on subject guys ...
To OP, just flash a root.zip from recovery, that should do the trick.
You'll have to re-upgrade Superuser after that, but it should be functional.
Also, in Superuser, verify that "Automatic Response" in settings isn't set to "Deny".

Anyways .... I re installed the Ics ROM and now the root is half working.... like When I write "su in terminal, it says "[1] + Stopped (tty input) su
[email protected]:/ $"
Still no "#" x( Da fuq is this? .......Anyways I'll try your rom too.

If anyone can do that, why don't you do it? Huh? Why don't you contribute the code required...like for the partially working camera or other things, huh? Cuz you just know how to insult people and nothing else. Now I want to use swear words lol xD But I think I'll be damned from xda for weeks so I won't. Anyways thanks for replying. Have a good day.

Now the root problem is partially solved by re-installing the ICS ROM BY BENJAMINN,
I mean now at least the root dialogues comes asking to allow or deny but when I put su in terminal it says " [2] + Stopped (tty input) su
[email protected]:/ $ "
Still no " # " ..
And to the root flashing thing -
L0L I did it like 999100929 Times. xD I flashed the root.zip (xda.CN) and updated Superuser, plus Updated the Su Binaries. and the Automatic Response is set to Prompt. And now as I told above the prompt is however revived but the su command in terminal is not working.
Why the su command ?

[Q] update?

I'm running blazerROM 1.9 and this morning I wake up to it prompting me to update
It said the file was about 83Mb or so and I dismissed it and rebooted to make a nandroid backup. I find it under The "Update samsung software" button, and it shows me this screen (attaching).
What IS it? Surely its too small to be 4.1update, right?
Will it brick me if i try it with root and blazerROM? Will it even let me?
Should I flash back to stock, no root and stock recovery and try it?

Let it run. It will fail and then it won't bother you again for a while.
To make extra sure it doesn't bother you. Go into your cache folder using root explorer and delete the update zip file.

Thanks, I appreciate that info... But if it IS 4.1, I'd like to give it a try, and decide if I like it.... I would just play with my Fiance's phone for awhile, but for some reason she STILL hasn't received the notification, even when manually checking for the update.. Why is that?
It's NOT jb.
it's the LI3 update that they've been incrementally rolling out.
Just a few ICS bug fixes.

It won't prompt you to update until google's servers have pushed the update file to your cache folder. The manual button only initiates the install if you have that file already, it doesn't poll the google server to request the file.

That seems rather silly... why make a button that says "check for updates" that doesn't actually check? When DOES it actually poll for updates/get the file pushed?
Anyway, if I were to find this update.zip my cache Copy it, and put it in the same directory in HER phone, is there any reason it shouldn't work?

rename the file "update." it'll keep the .zip extension. put on her sd card and run through stock recovery

I actually can't find it. Cache folders show empty in EStrongs.and you suggest it isn't actually titled "update"... Currently trying searches for files between 79&85mb (only found a piece of a nandroid so far) and all .zip which will undoubtedly yield a lot. Do you know the specific filename? The screen keeps nagging me saying its ready downloaded and verified... but I haven't found it yet..
And didn't find anything.
Where the hell's it hiding?!

When you enter root explorer it'll be in the first gift named cache. It's called something like "sph-l710 firmware update lg8 to li3.zip" if you installed it it gets deleted
I deleted it earlier but didn't pay attention to exact name.

I have the very same SPH-D710VMUB.FL26 but I haven't been able to root it. I have used a couple methods, but all failed. Can I ask you what method did you use? Mine is a VirginMobile model. I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks...
How did you install the rom? I've been using one clicks from RWilcos repository with no issues.
PC Odin the one click of your choice and after the green pass light should be good. Maybe redownload and reinstall?

apps installed on the system partition have access to root without the need of SU to control it. When you install an app like superSU you now give that APK control of any request of root rights. When phone asked for root it didnt know that you have an app that is now handling the request and thats why you were notified.

so, is this thing good or bad?
IMEI numbers are like Mac-adres numbers and every device has a unique IMEI number.
Clone mobiles (fake Samsung..HTC...Sony from China) could use the IMEI numbers if falling in the wrong hands etc. etc.
IMHO not trustworthy
My 2 cents....
So... what should we do for our saffety?

But I do not know why kingroot sends IMEI numbers and why is it needed.

it is working easily with the one click. I have tested it on my Xperia T3 18.1.a.2.25
I don't know if it has something "addtional" inside but it is working well.
