N7105 and other models in series - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, Just a question......
I know there is quite a few different variants of the n7105, but, me as a UK user, can I flash different variants, ie verizon or AT&T (Well, I flashed cleanrom i think it was called???) and it worked perfectly.....
There arent any roms in the 7105 forum, so would like to use other variants to flash more
also I KNOW you cant flash n7100 roms to out 7105
is it just a case of downloading other variants, and flashing devil kernal etc??

Most of the at&t roms work well. I use agni kernel

[Q] Quick question on Kernals and Modems between At&T and Canadian models

I did a search , but didn't find any satisfying answers.
From reading the forum, I understand that you should not use an At&T modem on any model other than an AT&T GS3 because it can cause issues, but can you freely use a kernal, (stock or custom) that is meant for the AT&T version on any other north american GS3??
Thanks!!
The modems are interchangeable between the i747 and i747M.

i have tryed flashing an att and a bell modem on my telus s3 in the pasted and both times lost my imei and all connections to the towers
both times flashed back to telus modem and all worked good,
i have flashed custom kernals and roms from at&t and bell with no problems
for the I747 the modems are carrier specific and you should use only those for your assigned carrier to be safe. Most custom ROMs leave out the baseband/modem for this very reason.
Kernel source is common and independent of carrier, but are version specific i.e. ICS., JB etc.
I'm on virgin in Canada and have flashed all firmware from Rogers, Bell, and Telus thru odin with no problem at all. Pretty sure there are only 2 different modems for these carriers so far LE8, &LH1 which are both included in the modem flasher in the dev section

Limited roms for use with tmobile sim on atti317?

Ive done flashed one t889 rom on my i317 att note 2 its basically a modded t889-i317 zip rom that works with the att note 2 and wifi calling works also but its a stockish build with only mulit window support
Are there anyother 4.1.2 roms that are t889 based that I can flash without issues...
As far as it seems ive read that you can pretty much flash any tmobile rom on an att s3 or note 2 and everything is issue free..since the variants are literally built with the same hardware
Any truth to that all I want to do ia flash a few diff roms with WIFI calling a must have for me on the i317.
Instead of sitting here on the stock att rom.

[Q] N7105 Roms on the SGH-T889?

Can roms, specifically from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1960 be installed on the T-Mobile GN2? If so, are there any modem / radio issues with the latest TMo radio or is there a better N7105 radio that should be used / recommended?
For the most part yes. I'd stick with roms from AT&T version however. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1875
If you see a ROM on AT&T version, and also see it on the t0lte (international LTE), then I'd presume it be safe to install the international lte version.
Personally I've only tested PAC and Rootbox. Anything else on t0lte that you try is all on your own
But generally speaking, as long as the t0lte rom you installed does not include the modem, it's good to go. Just don't go flashing the GT-N7100 ones; only GT-N7105 if you don't want the AT&T roms.
t0lteatt YES
t0lte MAYBE
For kernel, most people would recommend NEAK and you can find that in the GT-N7100 forum.

Thanks, that is what I assumed. I actually have installed the Carbon t0lte rom before (late night, wasn't paying attention) without issue and worked fine, never have installed a t0lteatt rom.
With that said, there seemed to be more dev options on the international variant so I was curious. I saw conflicting answers in a search so figured I'd ask again. If I do take the plunge, I'll report back with the end result.
Forgot to add, I would stay away from the international GT-N7100 touchwiz based roms though as some people say the kernels they use may have issues with US variants.

Agreed. There are hardware differences on the N7100 compared to the N7105 I have read about.
Only plan on using 7105 variants moving forward.

[Q] Can i flash an at&t rom on a n7105

Hi,
Ive looked into flashing an AT&T rom on my Canadian n7105 LTE Note 2. I searched the forum and some people said they have flashed it no problem. Other roms only say for n7100 only...
I am positive on my old note2 i flashed an AT&T rom. Ended up dropping and breaking the phone so i bought a new one. I don't require to have LTE but i do need 3G data connection.
Can i Flash a MI6 ROM like Hurricane Rom on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467910
Thanks
That rom is for the n7100 if you flash it you will lose phone and data and be left with just a tablet. Afaik there are no stock based 4.3 roms for the n7105. Some of the American roms work on the n7105, there is a list somewhere

Will N7105 Custom ROMs run on SGH-i317M?

Hey guys,
I'm sure this has probably been answered somewhere but I have an old SGH-i317M from TELUS and was wondering if you can flash custom ROMs for N7105 on these old devices. I've noticed that only the International variants have been kept up to date in terms of development work when looking at Cyanogenmod whereas the US models have pretty much died after KitKat.
May you please advise?
Thank you.

No, don't use anything from a different model number.
I know that other than the modem firmware, there is no difference between the sgh-i317, sgh-t889, and gt-n7105. However I don't know if the SGH-i317M from TELUS is any different from the SGH-i317 from AT&T. Some cursory googling leads me to believe that they're the same.
You can use 85% of gt-n7105 on i317 i am currenlt using Mokee from N7105, flash shift kernel firstafter flashing rom then reboot
