thanks for your reply. I tried the steps in that thread and had the same result. ODIN says everything passes with no error but nothing changes phone still will not boot and recovery gives the same errors.

Which steps have you completed?
What are you flashing in ODIN?
4.1.1 stock firmware?
The main step after the ODIN flash, and it reboots, before it gets to starting it's boot you need to power it off, pull battery whatever, and boot into stock recovery. Then do a factory reset. That step has recovered many phones stuck at the first white Samsung logo.
If it's stuck at the pulsing blue Samsung logo. There's another fix.

I could not get past the first step. I flashed the 4.1.1 tar linked in the first step ODIN says it passed, phone reboots and gets stuck at the white Samsung note 2 screen. I pulled the battery booted into recovery and got the same errors. Did a factory reset which gave me the same "can not mount" errors rebooted and still getting stuck at the same screen. Could it be the emmc bug?

Pull the usb cable out and pull the battery as soon as odin shows "Passed". If you let it start to boot on its own, its too late.
Timing is everything. Once the phone is disconnected and off, insert the battery and boot into 3e (stock) recovery, and factory reset. Then let it boot normally from recovery.

Thanks for the help, but i still get the same result. Only thing I can think of is the memory got messed up somehow.

If you've double-checked the steps, and redid your work very carefully, and your phone is still borked, you can use a JTAG service. The phone is flashed with a device connected directly to the phone rom chip. It costs $50 and takes a week. www.mobiletechvideos.com

I got the phone in trade for replacing a screen in a mega so if I can't get it going I will prob just use it for parts. If I can get it working I plan on using it to test drive straight talk. I may look up how to JTAG and try to do it myself I've J taged Xbox 360's but I'm sure that's a totally different thing.
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk 2

If it was a EMMC brick it would not boot into recovery or download mode would it?
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk 2

JTAG is usually the last resort after flashing wrong roms or kernels, but it sounds like this is the last resort, and it works.

Yea, but the weird thing is that this phone has never been rooted or messed with in any way.

So what stock firmware were you on ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618447
Try everything in Post #1 from above... It's what you already have done.
But as soon as the phone boots from the ODIN flash. Pull the battery and do the factory reset.

I have a sph-l900 and I'm in the same boat. My recovery mode is all in red and won't go past the note 2 logo on start up. I never rooted out fear something like this happening and yet it has. I've tried every stock tar file with Odin but getting "nand start write" followed by "failed". I'm posting on here because this is the only other image I have found that looks like what I have

Not recommended that you flash anything from this section ...
Sph-i900 is a windows phone with massive chipset differences...(omnia with win 6.1)using an intel marvell cpu)...
Flashing anything from the note 2 section will perma-brick your device....g

I have a Sph-L900 (sorry for the misunderstanding) which is the Sprint Note 2. I was looking at this thread because the picture shows exactly the current problem my phone is having and with the same situation of not rooting it. I was looking to see if anyone had additional information since trying to flash stock rom keeps giving the fail notice on odin

After exhausting every possible solution people gave me or I could come across, I caved in and sent it to Samsung repair. Turns out it was hardware that needed replacing. I heard it could just be a damaged internal memory or caused by a virus, but Samsung has fixed it for $70 and I should be getting it back this week.

Help please guys galaxy nexus stuck in a loop

Hi guys, as the title says my nexus was going great, howver randomly it switched off then into a loop, it goes to the part were the google logo comes up then just keeps repeating this, ive cleared the cache, restored factory settings. none of it has fixed it! Please help guys.
I have no solution but the same thing happened to me, I used fastboot to lock the bootloader and took it to verizon and exchanged it.
I got it to boot once after locking the bootloader but then it just stayed in the boot loop. I chalked it up to a hardware failure and moved on.
Hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion.

Flash the factory image and you should be good. You can use the tool kit to do this if you are not familiar with manual methods.

Im not sure I know the difference, its got a sim card so i think its GSM? I'm on three in the uk.
custom rom I downloaded it from here.
mine just switched off in google earth after the phone got real hot and after battery pull everything loaded fine but 10 seconds after launcher loaded up, GPS icon appeared in status bar and it rebooted again. Did this same thing continually for over an hour so I had to restore factory image. I've since installed 4.0.2 and it hasn't happened again.

Did you do a nandroid backup before flashing the custom rom? If so, restore that. If not try reflashing your current rom.

Exact same thing happened to me a week or two ago (GSM, stock, not rooted).
I followed these steps to solve the issue - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20302409&postcount=2
It was very simple, but it restored the phone and so wiped everything on it.
didn't work for me. now I'm stuck at a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark between a phone and a pc...
You did download the file properly right? It was around 180mb if I remember correctly.
Yeah, got it from the rs link. Zip was ok. when run, the exe checks crc ok. It gets stuck when starts writing nand for recovery. I really think there's something broken with the phone because of the screen desynchronisation.I'm gonna take it back monday morning...
Try giving it the fast boot command to lock the boot loader (your driver might not be configured for the phones regular state but if you can get it to recognize the decide when the phone is in the boot loader this may work). Give it the fast boot OEM lock command, and then give it the faatboot OEM unlock command. Make sure you have the stock .img on your ccmputer. When you unlock it, it will wipe everything. I mean everything, your Android backups and all. But, it managed to bring mine back after I got stuck in a boot loop that wouldn't make it passed the Google logo. After you unlock it, try and configure the drivers to recognize the phone again. Hopefully then you can push what you need from the computer
Here is what I mean with screen desync:

Automatic Restart Problem

Hello. I was using my phone and suddenly in the afternoon it started to restart automatically.. its never ending and it only stops when I take out the battery... When I put the battery again SAMSUNG Logo comes up followed by Samsung Galaxy W (CyanogenMod 9) screen then it restarts again and back to SAMSUNG logo... this process is never ending...
I also plugged in the charger and all i see is battery meter trying to calibrate but phone restarts and again i get to see the un-calibrated battery meter... this process also never ending...
I'm using ''CyanogenMod 9 Final Release (EOL)'' for past 3 weeks and there wasn't any problem... all this happened all of a sudden... I don't know what to do... So experts kindly help me out... Thanks a lot!!

U have to flash stock rom via odin and start everything again
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
1) a bootloop won't stop you from getting into cwm.
2) cwm will usually stop a bootloop.
Something else is going on here. The symptoms you describe *could* indicate a damaged power button.
With a normally working W, if you press and hold the power button for long enough, the phone will switch off. If you continue to hold the power button, the phone will come back on....and then switch off again.....in a continual loop.....
It *could* be that the power button has failed by *maybe* being pressed into the phone (it can happen)...this would replicate the above scenario....

i had this problem recently , i did a cmw sd phone partition and kinda bricked my phone , samsung logo restarts rapidly
so at the time u can do 2 things

or go to samsung and play dum cuz i went to samsung and replaced the motherboard under warranty , like a fresh phone!
Cheers..
Ok.....so watched that video....in his case, it ain't software related.....if it was, the phone would restart at the same point every time. You notice that the phone would restart after the galaxy w logo screen but when he started hitting the phone it fully booted. That's defo hardware related. I'm not suggesting you mistreat your phone the way he did, but if you did, I bet you'd notice a certain lack of regularity as to where the boot process fails.
My money's still on hardware as the cause of your phones problem.....

Ok...going back to OS basics to try to explain this.....
As I'm sure you know, an operating system will load up files in a specific and pre defined order. The ONLY thing that will stop this process is an interruption of the power or a corrupted file that the OS is trying to load. The phone in the video is NOT suffering from a bootloop due to a corrupted file......hitting the phone will not suddenly make that file ok and allow the phone to fully boot. If there was a corrupted file, the boot process would fail at EXACTLY the SAME point EVERY time.....regardless of what was done to the phone.
You say you've managed to reproduce the results in the video and get your phone to boot past the startup screen?.......that being the case, it's NOT software related....simply because the boot process doesn't fail at the same point and gets further in.
You say you can't access recovery or download mode because the phone restarts......this is another indication that the OS has nothing to do with it as during these tasks, the OS isn't even being used.
EVERYTHING I've seen and read here is telling me that it's a hardware issue....specifically the power button......wouldn't hurt to get it checked

If the phone is out of warranty, it shouldn't matter that you've rooted and gone custom as they'll charge you anyway....just got to tell them that you want to stay custom or they're likely to return you to stock and unroot the phone (and charge you for that too).......
You could always try an unauthorized repair shop and see what they say.....

In my opinion, I don't think jtagging will help in this case. I'm 99.999% certain that it's hardware related. Even if you did jtag, I still reckon you will have a phone that continually restarts. All you'd be doing is replacing one functioning OS with another. Jtag is primarily used for a phone that will not boot at all......

[q] need help debricking s3!

Ok so i bought a Galaxy S3 For tmobile, i installed the 4.3 update ota. then i tryed rooting phone it all whent through Green Pass On Odin but Knox kept blocking SuperSu so i wasnt able to grant root permisions to any app. i then installed CWM Recovery and tryed to flash a custom rom it gave me a status 7 error so i did some research and i read on a thread that i had to update the bootloader. once i flashed the bootloader the phone just shut down and never came back on. I believe its hardbricked cant get into recovery or download mode, just a black screen and red led comes on when connected to charger with no battery And it connects to my pc as QHSUSB_DLOAD. If anybody has any idea what i can do to get my phone running again Please let me know asap
Your Efuse has blown after flashing another bootloader on top of the 4.3 bootloader. I seriously doubt you can recover. Try the De-Bricking Thread in Android Development sub forum.
Will the SD Card DeBricking Method work ?
Probably will. But if you have already flashed the 4.3 update you will probably have to use the 4.3 debrick.img.
Im going to give it a try, Do you know if a Class 10 SD Card Manditory
I know class 6 works. Not sure about lower but some have said no they won't work

I went through the same tiresome process over the weekend after bricking my device. You need to use the 4.3 debrick image so that you can odin back to the TW 4.3. Make sure you remove the debrick SD after you get the download mode b4 you odin. Good luck
By any chance do you have a Link to the TW 4.3 i cant find it anywhere

So i bought the Required Sd Card And did the Windows method but it didnt work still no respond, Does anybody know if the Linux/Ubuntu Method will fix it for sure?
So I did everything and copied the 4.3 debrick IMG to my sd card from Linux terminal but still no response when trying to boot the phone with the debrick sd card, the only type of response is when I insert the sd card and then insert the battery the camera flash blinks once really fast, that's about it

Try redoing everything, but this time without formatting. Rewrite the image over the one already there.

Retry over and over on both Windows and Linux I'm about to give up

I went through the exact same problem here.
When you set up the SD card, in Windows, make sure to use win32diskimager.
Next, I would advise that you take out the battery, put the SD card in, and then put the battery in.
At that point, the phone should boot by itself within 15 - 30 seconds. If not, try getting it into download mode (Home + Volume Down + Power for about 15 seconds).
If it doesn't boot, rewrite the debrick image and keep trying.
I also found this to be a huge help. Just make sure to use the T999 4.3 debrick image.

[Q] Softbricked after accidental update

So my rooted phone is now soft bricked. Any help would be appreciated!
Info:
- rooted with Kingo
- recently updated with 4.3 - therefore KNOX is now installed
- didn't like 4.3 and went back to stock 4.1
so everything was working all fine and dandy for like 3 or 4 days when I accidentally updated (stupid stupid stupid stupid reflex on an early morning)
I do not have CWM installed. I have the stock img of the i317 (I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4_ATT.zip) and using Odin (as I've used it for the stock firmware I installed)
I've been getting a boot loop and would like to know if anyone out there is knowledgable enough to help me?
Please?
Thank you!
Edit:
Thank you for your quick response! Yes, I've tried and found those threads before, but I guess I forgot to mention that I also get the
"Firmware upgrae encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode i Kies &try again" screen
Doing the flash via Odin only gets me a FAIL! all of the time with these steps...

What fails ??? Is it stopping on sboot.bin ? If so that's the bootloader file and 4.3 won't flash over it.
What are you trying to flash in ODIN?

Of course I don't expect that you'll be seeing this now, but please know i do appreciate the help!
I started from scratch. But the thing is, I have been following this step by step.
I CANNOT do a factory reset.
Completed Section 1: Flashing LJ2 4.1.1 via ODIN - until Step 5 and 6.
*** Upon reboot the phone will hang. This is because of left over 4.3 file(s) not letting the system boot.
Pull the battery and let the phone sit for a few seconds, pop the battery in and boot into stock recovery (HOLD VOL UP+HOME+POWER) and do a FACTORY RESET then reboot.
When it hangs on the Pulsing Blue Samsung logo, do this step. (expect to do this)
Odin showed a green PASS! but it is still stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo. I have followed every step and every file to the letter that you recommended... I am unsure what to do now. I left it just in case it went to boot, but it's been 15 - 20 mins already... I'm happy to just get i back to 4.1 even "(

It does not. It gets stuck in Samsung Galaxy Note II logo. I know how to do Download mode and recovery mode. That's my problem. There is NO recovery mode anymore. I followed everything to the letter. If I am able to get to recovery mode, I will do a wipe and factory reset everything then problem solved... however this became a problem after the accidental update so I don't know what to do anymore. </3

No worries... I've been in that spot many many times.... Luckily for all of us @fuzio1963 was brave enough to test out flashing the param/tz combo. Saved alot of people...
Thanks for the offer of goodies... I'm lucky at this point of my life to have all I need.
But if you'd like to donate something, here's my pick.

I completed all the steps and now running 4.3! My device is updating however, is it safe to install this after all I've done?
I figured I might as well recompile everything you outlined offline in case I brick mine again...
I'll give that a look! I was asking for amazon because I may still have some credit on there, but your suggestion looks better Thank you for everything you've done!

Well, after completing everything and updating my apps, the ATT Device Manager is still rearing its ugly head. It did so again now, and when it rebooted it loaded TWRP, it went into recovery mode automatically without me pressing any buttons.
I am trying to find a way to remove it now, but I would further encroach upon your good graces, if you please, is the Device Manager/ATT update safe to let be?
Interesting it's keeping on checking for updates.
You can try going to applications, scroll pages over to All. Scroll down to ATT software update, press it and clear cache
Something is making is making it think is needs to keep checking.
I use TITANIUM Backup to freeze it. Going to need it backup if you want 4.4 update

Yeah, I thought it would be done. I wiped cache from it as you advised. So I guess I'll have to pay for Titanium Backup. Sigh. Some things must be unavoidable. Nevertheless, I cannot thank you enough. It got my baby working again!

[Q] I have turned my Note 4 into a Brick trying to root for the 1st time. Help?

I followed the instructions listed here.
androidorigin. c o m /samsung-galaxy-note-4-root-how-to/
It did not work and I am now stuck on the screen that says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
I tried Kies and it says it is not compatible.
Anyone have the stock rom or know of a way to get this root?
I am fairly tech savvy but this is my first time rooting.

There are no Roms or stock image files that I am aware of. When someone releases one or the other. Flash TWRP in Odin and flash new rom through TWRP or Odin stock image.

when you flash via odin, do you see the message 1 succeeded and 0 failed of do you see 0 for both?
Thanks but I think I figured it out.
I tried using 4 different versions of ODIN.
I also used different versions of the MD5 files.
I finally got one to stick and I appear to be rooted.

Just for everyone's info: the stock tar is located in the "general" section of this forum (Sprint galaxy note 4)... Easy to find.
Cf-auto-root is here:

Instructions are in the OP.
Just odin the one you need for your purposes (stock tar or auto root) and your good to go (Phone must be in download mode of course).

Stock OB7 tar here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3056478
Use Odin to flash it. If you can boot to custom recovery now... Do it and wipe everything but internal & external storage first x 3.
Then:
Odin Cf-auto-root as in my prior post
Then:
TWRP Recovery here:
https://twrp.me/
Use Odin to flash it. You WILL be good to go.
Now re-setup your phone.
