I bought a Sprint Galaxy Nexus a while ago because it was cheap and I needed an mp3 player (bad esn with sprint). Now I'm going on vacation and need an unlocked phone. I have a SGH T999 Galaxy S3 with T Mobile that is on 4.3 and apparently I'm not going to get it unlocked (I haven't spoken with TMo, but from what I can gather, it isn't likely to work). I was wondering if I could switch the LCD/digitizer from the Sprint G Nexus with one I purchase from ebay with a busted screen but is GSM unlocked (seems like the cheapest route, since I already have the phone). Is this possible, or should I just buy some cheapo unlocked phone for travel?
thanks in advance for read and replying =)
They have both the 4.65 in HD Super AMOLED with RGBG-Matrix (PenTile).
I have only the GSM unlocked version but searching on Internet I can't find differences on their screen.
I think it should fit.

Several readers are wondering when the new HTC Touch Pro 2 will be released by carriers, and which carriers will offer it.
HTC is currently planning to ship the HTC Touch Pro 2 to European customers in late May or early June, featuring Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and the latest version of TouchFLO 3D. FCC recently revealed that HTC is also planning to offer an unlocked version of the HTC Touch Pro 2 supporting AT&T's 3G network this summer.
I have also included the link. http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/10233.html
that's great news!!! I'm really thinking of buying an unlocked one, but only as long as it supports AT&T's 3G network. the only thing holding me back is that if I do buy an unlocked one I won't have any insurance or warranty on it. wait, does anyone know if any form of insurance or warranty is offered if you buy an unlocked version of a phone?? (sorry I've never bought an unlocked phone before) cos it's getting pretty hard to wait for fall to come so I can buy the subsidized TP2. and plus, by then AT&T will most likely have messed around with the hardware and appearance of the phone.

Im in the same boat. I prefer an unlocked (untampered with) phone, but worried about the lack of Warranty
I have bought a Tytn, Tytn II and a Touch Pro direct from HTC, certainly in the UK their warranty is good, its longer than a year certainly (I think 2 but dont quote me). I will be getting the Touch Pro II direct from HTC again, Im bored of being held to ransom by the operators.
i know that if we buy an unbranded TP2, it will more than likely come with a 1 year manufacturers warranty. that sets me at some sense of ease. but does anyone know if an unlocked TP2 will support U.S. AT&T's 3G bands? i've been hearing 2 different answers: some say it will some say it wont. can anyone supply some evidence? i'm trying to compile all the evidence and reasoning i can so i can make my final decision as to buying it unbranded or just waiting for a subsidized version that i know will work with AT&T's 3G bands here in the U.S.
also, does anyone know if HTC will sell it for less or more than those sites like expansys and such?
If they release an unlocked one directly to the US, I am sure it will support either both AT&T and T-Mobile, or they will have 2 separate ones that support either.
Hi. I'm about to buy a new mobile. For now i'm having GalaxyS and i want to still stay with galaxy series, but this time when i was looking for GalaxySII i found an offer for Galaxy Nexus - very cheap one. I really wish to give u a link but i'm a new user and i can't so if u have got some time have a look on UK ebay and put in search:
Code:
New & Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Nexus Smartphone i9250 / SC-04D 16GB Android 4.0
Let's have look on it cause i don't know if after that i9250 letters and digits (SC-04D) makes any differents if i will want to for an ex. flash custom rom. Seller seems to be good so i don't think there is any fake. If there is some differents what is it. Can't wait for ur answers. Want to get it. Thanks.
I think it's Japan version of Galaxy Nexus, carrier is DoCoMo.
It's the most cheap version of Galaxy Nexus. I have some
friends buy this one. (about US$360~380, new)
You must unlock this phone before use.
Some seller have unlock service (free or charge), you may
search one of you if you don't like to try unlock yourself.
PS: If you don't know how to unlock the phone, please
remember flash a new ROM may lose the unlock.
But on an auction i could see that is unlocked already. One more question. Will be that better choice that i 9100? To be honest just resolution of the screen convice me to GNex.

when you said unlocked, you were probably referring to rooting your phone... because all galaxy nexus phones are already unlocked.
also, i found one on this site here

Not the SC-04D that's from docomo Japan. This version of GN is locked to docomo. You have to root then do the sim unlock. I just did mine yesterday.
the SC-04D that negrielectronics.com sells arrives permanently unlocked.
i think negri does something to it before they ship it. there's lots of talk about it in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559622
Hi GUys,
I need serious help from you guys.
I have a S3 (i747 model at&t) this i got it from USA and now i am in india for good.
Yesterday my S3 Digitizer broke (but the housing/faceplate is perfect).
I took it to samsung service center in INDIA chennai. they told that they do not replace just the LCD/Digitizer but they replace the hole set as it is (ie, LCD/digitizer already fitted to a faceplate). and the cost of it all is 7100rs (apprx 135USD).
But the problem began now. You see the motherboard layout for i747 and i9300 models are different (ie faceplate/housing of i747 and i9300 are different) they are not INTERCOMPATIBLE.
And in india they dont have faceplate/housing for i747 model as its only available in USA.
can anyone tell me where can i replace the screen of my i747 S3 in india?
Or is there anywhere from where i can ship out the product to india.
PS: i know people would point out to videos in where to remove the LCD/digitiser out of the faceplate buy using heat guns... well i dont want to do it.
I want the Faceplate/LCD-Digitiser for WHITE i747 model S3 and i am in INDIA (also will i get it in the same cost approx 130 usd).
Your help will be immensely appreciated.
A Question to Samsung: I have a i747 and I carry a International warranty and I am out of USA for next 3 years and I break my Screen? Will they not help me out or repair my S3? What is the use of having International warranty then in first place?
Awaiting your reply,

Greetings all,
I am thinking of upgrading and replacing my GS3 with an unlocked Galaxy Note 3 from a third party dealer. I am in Southern California and a T-Mobile customer. Apparently there are several versions, the N900, N9000 and the LTE N9005. I am not sure which one I should purchase. My intention in getting an unlocked phone is so that in the future I can switch carriers easily if I choose. This is not something I expect to do any time soon, but it would be nice to have the option. Obviously, I also want the best performance. Any info would be appreciated.
Thank You,

Hullo all!
So, I recently sold my Sprint Galaxy SIII to upgrade to a Note II, and decided upon the T-Mobile variant (my carrier supports T-Mobile wireless calling since they use the T-Mobile GSM network). I browsed eBay for awhile and came up with a very nice looking deal. There is a Note II for 118 dollars, but it won't boot past the Samsung logo. Curious, is there a possibility that this is a hardware issue and not software? If just software, is it fixable without too much work on my end? And, is it worth the risk?
Thanks,
