hi,perhaps here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2707431

What @dabenaute @Amit77 suggested you is the latest 4.4.2 Touchwiz leak for our note 2, i've been using that as well and apart from few bugs that is noticed the ROM is great. To answer your long battery life question, that is only possible when using custom kernels like devil or agni where you can undervolt your phone and other fancy stuff.Since 4.4.2 is a leak there is no kernel source code so there are no custom kernels available yet for the developers of custom kernel to make it compatible with 4.4.2 TW. So what you can do is try a 4.3 TW ROM and get a custom kernel and do the tweaks which will be enable longer battery life. It's hard to tell you which 4.3 TW rom would offer you best battery life cause everyone's usage is different so you got to test 2-3 ROM's on xda and see which suits your need.Initially after flashing a ROM try it for 1-2 days to test battery life and then try a custom kernel test that for 1-2 days and then move to another ROM and repeat the same steps that way you know which ROM and which custom kernel works best on Note 2.

Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
Don't forget to make a nandroid before you start.

AOKP Milestone 6 VS Liquidsmooth V1.5

Hey guys. I'll be flashing a new rom soon, and I wanted to get your opinions on which of these roms to flash. I've been using Liquidsmooth V1.4 but with Jelly Bean I'm considering flashing a new rom.
I tried AOKP when it was still ICS and I decided to switch to Liquidsmooth because it has all the same features that I use and the rom file is smaller so the battery life it better. I don't see the correlation but the battery life was definitively better. Battery life is one of my main concerns so it will be one of the main deciding factors for my rom of choice. Please help me make my decision, and only comment if you have actually used both roms in one of their more recent forms.
Also, please include your kernel, and other info you feel is important enough to include. Thanks

Rom size and battery life have no correlation.

The correct answer is SlimICS / SlimBean.

Suggestions for helping me select a rom

So i rooted my N7100 about a month ago after i update to latest kitkat firmware and have tried some custom roms both touchwiz and cm 11 based or aosp roms but have ended up with a confusion as am still not able to find the custom rom for my needs..
I am a moderate user but yes i am audiophile who enjoys every bit of music and i am more or less 50-50 between touchwiz and stock android ( i customize my own homescreen set ups so hurray for that) also battery life is a bit of a concern for me
So i tried cm 11 in which battery life is below average so i switched back to DN3 rom in which battery life was back to normal but both roms didnt meet my audio needs infact i found on cm11 loudspeaker output was on the low side or may be thats just me ( P.S i have tried most of audio mods like viper4android, dsp manager heck even noozy player and all still no where near quality like my HTC desire X :crying: )
Can someone guide me how to select a proper rom for my needs which are
1- Quality music output
2- Battery life and smooth performance
I am a bit new here but i do know the rules hence i clearly state i am not asking for any kind of best rom or any of that sort i am simply asking someone to guide me to how to select one rom for my needs
Try to flash Phoenix v17 or v18

No matter how you want to spin it you're still asking for a best rom or a rom recommendation. Nobody is going to be able to tell you "How" to choose your rom other then to tell you to try some and see which is best for you.
This is nothing more then a "best" rom thread.

[Q] GT-I9195 best solution?

Hello! I've got a S4 mini black edition (GT-I9195 with stock 4.4.2) and as many other users I also noticed the battery drainage problems (standby uses too much battery). Is there no way of solving the battery consumption problem without rooting/flashing custom rom? (I don't care much for breaking knox as long as the problem gets fixed). I've read several threads about this issue, but still i need some advice on what's the best solution available these days.
Thanks!
You can try any custom kernel like on below ::
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592308 Thanks to @SilviuMik
or this :: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/kernel-brisk-v1-drain-patches-t2852609 thanks to @TheBootloader
Or you can try any stock based custom ROMs. Check out the " android dev " section.
Without root I am not entirely sure how we can improve battery as main problem is with stock kernel.
Thank you sasank360! I did read the brisK thread before maybe I should it. What do you think its best, those custom stock roms or a cyanogen mod? I'm looking to solve that particular problem only.
Cyanogenmod 12 is great ROM. But for me the battery life is lower that other ROMs I tried. In daily use of about 14 hours I get over 2 and half hours of screen on time with cm12
All lollipop ROMs give me same result. But stock based roms give me atleast 3 hours of screen-on time and I will still have 10% left @ end of the day. All custom kernels for stock based roms are same for me. For CM12 or any lollipop roms you can use @F4k kernel. It offers underclocking and undervolting options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568479 This is link for f4k kernel.
I now belong to the "Knox 0x1 club", rooted and running CWM+brisK kernel, hope this solves the problem!

Looking for mostly stock ROM

I am coming from the Note 2 and on that phone I used RWilcos Mostly Stock ROM which is basically just the stock ROM with small tweaks, root, bloatware removed etc.
It did not have any bugs that effected the functionality which I've seen with other ROMs (CM etc).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a 100% functional stable ROM almost that won't remove all the great Note features but still have the added features and performance, battery life , root etc of the custom ROMs?
Thanks for any help.

First of all, is the phone new and already updated to stock 5.1.1?
If so you have a locked bootloader (but still have options) .
If you have 5.0.1 or older version your in luck.

Best of the best by @tx_dbs_tx.
CM and ports require more attention whether it be developer, user or both.
Stock-like TW narrows it down for you. IMO, the two most active and capable developers in TW for Sprint Note 4 are tx_dbs_tx and freeza. They both have released very stock and also modified ROMs. Then there's OBAR that got a lot testing and users as well to make sure the bugs were squashed; still has support and also user community support.
If you don't want to get into kernel tweaking but want something with default and optimization out of the box- better than stock, consider freeza's Beastmode kernel or the newer Rage kernel that is integrated in Note 4our ROM (Don't be put off by the beta; it's stable but more customization is expected). Otherwise, take your pick and run the included kernel or choose another custom Android 5.1.1 kernel like AEL or Emotion for Sprint Note 4.
Personally, I prefer freeza's kernel. I've posted some battery stats in freeza's Beastmode kernel and Note 4our ROM threads.
I couldn't narrow it any further than this. You'd have to decide yourself or try as many as you like to make a definitive decision. Lots of choices and opinions vary; that's a good thing.

Which one of freeza's kernels gives better battery? Have you compared them to AEL? I'm using AEL 6.2,and while it has decent battery, it lags a bit.

IMO, they're equal on battery.
Rage may be slightly better on multitasking but there's extra scripts in play with the integrated ROM.
No lag but I've ran freeza kernels since Beastmode because they're close to stock with no setup to tweak.
Prior to that, I preferred stock kernel but thanks to Samsung, can't run it with root anymore. No recent compare to AEL or Emotion.

If Q rom has its own custom kernels, you may flash another (stock) rom to get other (custom) kernels running.
If you want to keep your current rom and only optimize battery life, I recommend to install BetterBatteryStats app, record an idle dump and post it in the BBS thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-2-2-05-oct-v2-4-betterbatterystats.1179809/)
There are some experts helping to analyze and giving advices how to optimize battery life on your device.
