Hi all
so i got an unlocked m919 from ebay new. i rooted the phone and installed wicked rom. everything works fine however in settings it says unknown for the IMEI. using *#06# it has no imei number just the slash and 05 for the imeisv. i get full service and have no issues with my cell service i am in germany right now and am using a prepaid sim chip on the tmobile network. i did not make an efs backup.
the only things that dont work are my samsung apps like chat on and the samsung app store. i have been researching this problem for a few days and have not found any solutions. i did a full wipe and installed the stock 4.3 mk2 using odin this did not help. before i installed wicked the first time i made a nandroid backup of my stock rom, if i restore it then i get no signal and i get null/null when using *#06#.
i can not figure out how to fix the imei. any help would be appreciated.
thank you

You can give this program a try HERE I believe there is a way to repair an existing IMEI. Good luck.

I bought an AT&T S3 and factory unlocked it, it worked perfectly on T-Mobile's 3G/4G network. But then I decided to flash a custom kernel, stupid me. After rebooting, found out i was stuck on edge and IMEI number was "lost".
I flash the stock rom back on and that didn't work so I used peoplearmy's guide to inject the IMEI number back into the phone. I even tried his other method to get 3G data back, but no go.
So i have the IMEI number back on and everything but I'm still stuck on "EGDE: 2".
I've tried the WCDMA Preferred method but that didn't work. So does anybody know how to get 3G/4G back on?
Any help will be appreciated Thanks.
EDIT: Alright solved this problem. If your having the sane problem just use peoplearmy's imei tool to inject it back in. After that back it up again by putting it in diagnostic mode and using qpst. Then (here's how you get 3G/4G data back on your AT&T S3 with T-Mobile network) use peoplearmy's qnc generator tool to generate a T-Mobile back up and restore that back to your phone and BOOM! Your done! You can find peoplearmy's thread on xda. Or Google "fix/tool qnc" and it should be the first result

If you have restored the backup properly, just try to factory reset the firmware...
Which method you had used to backup and restore EFS?

I did not have EFS backup so I used SRS unlock client with UART cable to bring back the original IMEI, now my IMEI and S/N is correct but phone still wont register on network. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue after having flashed the 4.3 version found on Sammobile. SN and IMEI are correct. Have you found a solution?
Please help me too , same situation
previously worked with dlk6 or dll6 firmware/modem on 4.1.2
When I flashed 4.3 Xperia-z1-ized ROM . Device showed correct imei and MK1 modem from the ROM but says "not registered in network "
Have no Idea what went wrong. I have no backup of any EFS or anything .
I installed emergency firmware upgrade via Kies and now running stock 4.3 Android UBUEMJ4 Modem , build number : MK4 Status : offical.
I don't even know if i can root my device with current stock firmware.
Hey all. Got a brand new Note 3 about a week and a half ago from a T-Mobile store and it stopped connecting to network last week. I've been having a back and forth with T-Mobile and I was told that my IMEI was blocked and I was told to exchange the device. I found out today that the IMEI on the phone does not match the IMEI on the box. Seems this IMEI was blocked for non payment. Can the IMEI change from flashing roms? It's it possible to restore it somehow?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Ok short answer, NO.
It is not possible for a rom flash to change an imei. The rom is on a completely different partition. There is a lot more work involved in changing that and a simple flash would never be able to accomplish it.
if your imei on the phone doesnt match what is on the back of the phone then you need to take it back.

Where did you buy it from?
I highly recommend you do as the carrier suggests. Take the time to go visit them and do things "above board".
I have got at&t unlocked phone and I haven't had any problem from above an year but I have been having signal problems from two weeks now. Messages come and go after hours, sometimes they are quick. It's like my phone is on it's own mood whether to send or not. When I try to check credits I get the error "Connection problem or inavlid MMI code". Sometimes my phone's carrier disappear too. Signals are all full. I tried porting into another carrier and found no difference at all.
I think it's related to IMEI because when I *#06# then a pop comes written "0" on it instead of showing IMEI code. Please help! Thanks!
For some reason, it looks like the folder containing your IMEI has been corrupted. Try to re-install the imei using NV writer.

Have you recently updated your rom or flashed anything? Maybe you could flash the modem files again and fix your problem?
When you go to about phone what does it say for baseband?

I think the problem occurred after I flashed leaked version of stock 4.3. Firmware was I747UCUEMJ2. I flashed CyanogenMod 10.2 hoping that it might fix the problem but it didn't made any difference.
I checked baseband version and surprisingly, it's I747UCUEMJ2. So, what do you think? Is that the problem? Also, how can I fix this? Last question, what if I restore IMEI etc then will it still be unlocked or I will need an at&t sim?

Restoring will not re-lock the phone. If your imei and baseband appear correct, I don't think you need to inject the imei.
You could use Odin to flash back to stock and see if the problem persists.

So the imei from the phone's keypad matches the imei on the phone's label?
Yes, it does.

And I still can't check how many credits I have. When I dial *124# then it's saying "Connection problem or invalid MMI code".

Sorry to disturb but I have a question. Since carriers over here doesn't provide micro-sim so we have to cut out large sims and then ready to use. So, I did that but I also noticed that my friend who has S3 got smaller sim circuit and my sim's circuit covers almost whole sim. Maybe that could be the problem? Please answer so I can then contact carrier.

I recently entered the world of rooting and roms etc and yesterday i tried to flash DN3 ROM V5 for my AT&T note 2 GT-N7100.
The flash went smoothly but after the intial set up of the rom i realised I had no mobile service, so I then checked my imei using *#06# and my imei was found to be Null/Null.
I know that this has something to do with the efs folder in my phone but i don't know how to get mobile data back on my phone.
i have an efs back up SAMSUNG-SGH-1317_20141009_213525.tar i just dont know how to restore it.
PLEASE HELP
The correct international rom would be 7105. So you need to return to the stock rom and modem to fix your phone.

The real question is do you have an i317 or a n7100? Those are two different model numbers and you would need the n7105 version of dn3 for i317, The n7100 rom is not compatible and does not have lte support (hence the no baseband problem). Odin back to stock using the correct firmware, then you can re-root and flash stuff. Just be vigilant and make sure you have the correct files for your device before you flash them.
