Nova launcher and Flatro icons. I haven't figured out how to make the navigation bar transparent yet. The status bar is made transparent and KitKat icons used in place of the stock ones using gravitybox.

Scrap that, I've sorted the navigation bar transparency, there's a small glitch in gravitybox, the navigation bar won't go transparent until you have pulled down the notification bar once.

Yes you do need root. Easiest way of doing it is by using an app like Texdroider DPI, available through the Play Store.

yes root is required, various apps then deal with full system dpi change ie- ROM TOOLBOX which has an array of tools and is suited to newer roms, some older apps mess up jelly bean build.prop and cause boot loop so take care with the app you use.
for more control over individual app dpi just install the XPOSED FRAMEWORK and once installed go through the list of available modules that are downloadable from the main xposed app and look for APP SETTINGS module, you get a much better level of control similar to the way paranoid android roms let you change individual apps.

This is what I did currently.
I modded the lockscreen, so that music widget is transparent and (more important) those annoying white grips at the side, when you turn on the screen, are gone.
The Launcher is Nova 2.3beta with semi-transparent navbar, plus I modded the SystemUI.apk for semi-transparent status bar and swapped Back/Recent buttons.
Widgets are Anton's Kalender Widget, Gotasks (with heavily modded app and transparent widget) and Eye in sky weather.
Setup of Nova is no-Dock and 7x5 grid. Background is FiveWallpapers from market with 4 different pictures for 4 homescreens.

Thanks a lot. I am a kind of a newbie with all those things. Im a bit scared of rooting my moto G ans loose my warranty. I've already done this with my nexus 10, but idk, i need tout try... Haha

I was playing around with several icon sets, but they never support ALL icons which looks odd, so I keep the default icons.

Is there such a lockscreen

Today I saw this "image" of the Galaxy S5 and the first thing that cought my attention was its lockscreen. It looks like the usual android stock lockscreen or widgetlocker, but it has many "orbits" around the center, where many apps can be put. I wonder if such a lockscreen (many discs able to have shortcuts around the center) already eixsts.

I already use nova launcher and widget locker and I am happy with both, but such an idea looks even more handy.

this lockscreen is supposed to be in the new samsung ui rumoured to be Gravity Ux
but with few apps i guess u can achieve such kind of lockscreen

PitchBlack Theme for Zooper Widget Pro was created in order to give your phone a new look, shortcuts to numerous functions, settings and apps and hopefully make your battery last longer due to dark colors.
PitchBlack Theme for Zooper Widget Pro is Phase 1 of a series of PitchBlack Themes in order to give your phone an overall dark look:

- at first run it will ask you to enable notifications. Do it
- if not done automatically add your favorite music player as a media app
- settings/application integration/ select Zooper

- persistent bar never
- show shadow off

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Installing PitchBlack Theme
- download .apk attached here and transfer to your phone's sd card
- install as like any other apk. No permissions are required
Creating the homescreens
- for start we create 6 homescreens. We need the 6th in order to create power toggles, music player and RSS widgets and then drag & drop them to the correct screen. After we're done creating all 5 homescreens, the 6th must be deleted.
- go to screen 1, create any zooper widget and resize it to fit half screen.
- tap it, go to "PitchBlack Theme Zooper" and choose correct template (top or bottom).
- repeat that one more time and screen 1 is finished
- do this for screen 2, 3, 4 and 5.
- after finishing creating all 5 homescreens, create power toggles on screen 6 and drag & drop it to screen 1
- do this again for RSS and music player widgets.
- when done delete home screen 6
Music Player first run
- after widget is created press the folder icon. This will open google music
(you can set the target to point at a different player and don't forget to add it as a media app in media utilities)
- choose a song to play. This way album art, play and pause buttons are created
That's about it. The video guide illustrates this procedure in real time in order for easy guidance and also show how things are easier in action than they seem on words.

USEFUL INFO & TIPS
Phone Support
- Templates were designed on a Galaxy Nexus/720p phone so any device with that screen resolution, will support templates out of the box.
- If used on a device with higher or lower screen resolution phone, they need to be re-sized/adapted
Tablet Support
Not suitable for tablets. Theme will not work out of the box as you will need to do a lot of re-sizing/changes.
Music Player Issues
As with every custom player created for zooper widget, there are known issues which are not theme specific:
- small delay of actions to occur when pressing play/pause/next/previous
- small delay of player to pick up artist and album info
- small delay with song progress bar
Alternative Players
If not satisfied with PitchBlack Custom Music Player, use a widget of your favorite player.
Phone Logo
If you're not on a Galaxy Nexus, change logo with a transparent .png logo of your device
Did you know that
- pressing the current condition icon on weather screen force updates weather
- when music is playing a blue glow surrounds album cover
- when you finish personalise your homescreens, you can set "Widget OnTap Action" to be disabled for your widgets.
This way you won't have accidental taps that opens up widget configuration
- you can choose weather provider and update rate via zooper widget settings

Can't wait to finally upload templates. Made some cool, last minute changes on weather and games homescreen (the last looks amazing). I updated OP with screens of final result. Still some things to write. I just need to screen record video, which I will probably do tomorrow so everything will be ready to do during the weekend.
I am very excited about this project as I haven't been active for the last 6 months (3 baby daughters that need my full attention). Most excited about the updated PB Theme (yeah, that one on Playstore) which will come after PitchBlack Lockscreen.

you can use lmt.. it's very good as pie

For pie you can also instal Xposed installer with Gravity box and activite Pie, also works with ART now.

Sometimes I faced the "Nova Launcher Crash" bug when I was setting up homescreens, especially when moving widgets around but not after finishing setting up screens. There is a thread I found about that here http://www.zooper.org/wp/old/topic/bug-nova-launcher-app-drawer-link ... don't know if it helps.
Here are my thoughts about this:
- when customise screens to your likes, for every widget set "Widget OnTap Action" to "Disabled (Locked)"
(You will still have access to screen shortcuts but not to configure widget. To re-enable that you will need to delete widget and then add it again)
- try delete other launchers besides nova. Especially Google or CM's launcher 3. Maybe this issue is specific to KK roms...are you on KK or JB?
- try disablin error reporting from nova and maybe use aggresive desktop?
- try disabling error reporting for zooper
Try and let me know...I will also try these myself later to see how things go. Try one step at time. If problem persists try next and so on.
PS: I haven't faced a fc recently so specify when does your fc occurs? I mean if you press what? Give me more so I can track this.

I am on vanir with its stock kernel. I deleted other launchers and tried to move widgets around....No fc so far, everything works fine. Also disabled widget on tap action for all widgets in order to avoid accidentaly opening widget's configuration

Working great for me changed up some images need to change some of the games icons to games I have lol but looms really nice on my n4

Everything works fine now, changed to CyanogenMod11 with Mpokang kernel end removed all launchers only Nova running. No crashes anymore. Only one thing left, how can i change icons with program??

if you want to change icons and targets...first you need to have the icons as images somewhere on your sd so you can pick them up. Then of course you need to change the target of your new icon to point at the app the icon represents. Be careful here cause in order to make taping on things more easier for the end user, on some cases I didn't create a shortcut for an app by pressing the icon itself, but used transparent rectangulars which they cover a larger area than the icon does. So you actually need to change the ontap action for that specific rectangular. One example is the screen "Home". On that template, search for rectangulars like "Action Camera" or "Action Browser". These are actually configured to take you to the app you want rather than the bitmap themselves. I hope I made things clear for you. It takes a while to get the hang of it. Once you make yourself familiar with zooper then all is good!

I worked my own way out to replace some things, thanks for the great theme!

Android UI on Non-Rooted Fire Phone(My Setup)

Buzz launcher is working really well, no widget support but I have searchbar, wallpaper, and notifications are coming through fine(I don't have a number icon but they show on lock screen and in drop down) also I just managed to get stock jb camera and gallery working. I've spent a few hours trying every launcher I could get and the best two were go launcher and Buzz launcher, although google now launcher is available and great except for the wallpaper support.
At this point I have a mostly stock(not rooted sadly) up to date 3.6.8 unlocked fire phone. I've added Google play store, installed Buzz launcher and glovebox, and pushed stock jellybean camera and gallery via .apk file. I'm also using chomp sms, gmail, stock dialer, chrome browser and apus booster.
Any suggestions or ideas? I'm loving the hardware but we seem to have a small following and very few developers behind us which means we're on our own.
launchers I have tried and had issues with-
1. Yahoo Aviate, crashes on launch.
2)ADW- worked well bot no widgets or wallpaper.
3)Nova-no wallpaper or widgets but stable.(beta has same issues)
4)Holo Launcher(regular and HD)- no widgets or wallpaper
5)DU Launcher- no wallpaper or widget
6)Themer- wallpaper support but random crashing after sleep
7)Smart Launcher 2-no wallpaper or widget
8.)Action Launcher 3- no wallpaper or widget
9)Everything Me Launcher- no wallpaper or widget, crashing
10) 2Tap Launcher- crashes quickly no wallpaper
11)CM Launcher- no wallpaper, crashing rarely but mentionable
Working launchers
1) Buzz Launcher fully functional except for widgets, my daily driver for now seems to be the most stable so far
2)Google Now- works very well but no wallpaper support but very stable
3)Go launcher- wallpaper works(i couldnt change it from the stock wallpaper but it was better than a black screen, ran well no crashes for two days)
* as of the update on 4/4/15 go launcher no longer has wallpaper at all
4)Lightning Launcher- works perfectly (only last because it is the only paid app I listed)
Useful Apps/Options
Stock JB Camera and Gallery(Will post .apk asap)
Google Play and GApps
Glovebox (sidebar/dock)
Chomp SMS(works well but must be kept running or will not notify)
*I've switched to hangouts for sms and it's working really well(hangouts dialer was less than perfect, but did function)
Also using Google play music and still searching for new options daily while waiting on fire os4
Workarounds
Configured gestures via buzz to launch google now from searchbar, doubletap screen for JB Camera, tied Chrome to as many apps as possible to mimic default browser.

Homee launcher works, widgets, wallpaper, etc. But most themes are a bit feminine for my tastes. Been using it for a week or two pretty neat overall.

Launcher Lab
Launcher Lab works perfectly except for no widget support, you can however use its built in widgets. its fully customizable so getting a native look isn't hard.

Hydroman, this works perfect. Being a former Mi phone user, this is like going native. Only issue is lock screen not working. Still default fire lock screen takes effect. Any suggestions?

I am getting my notifications from Hangouts, Facebook,XDA App, and all my mail accounts. But I've been using NotifierPro Free since before 4.6.1 update. I'll uninstall it and let you know some time tonight or tomorrow morning if I'm still getting them.

On non rooted? My fav Holo Launcher Plus.. Notifications bubbles on Icons Are Working there.

Ok i was still getting notifications after I uninstalled NotifierPro Free. I did notice on occasion that my phone would get a bunch of notifications all at once. I reinstalled Notifier i actually like how it works. FYI I am 4.6.1 rooted running the Google now Launcher.

So weird..i just cant handle not seeing the notification little numbers..lol..like if u dont hear the phone you wouldnt know u have a whatsapp as the little number isnt there..

My most used apps in two rows
The dock with some more apps that I use frequently and two additional pages. The dock can be scrolled to the left and right. Have three pages of it with the clock app, Spotify and so on.
Pressing and sliding upwards the app list icon on the bottom right opens up an overlay which shows me my eight most used apps plus a search for all apps.

I spent about 2 hours yesterday installing and testing weather widgets. Finally got this one, it can be about 90% customized. I love it.

Nova Launcher Prime and Umbra icon pack:
- 2 pages with the Home screen having three eWeather widgets
- Right panel has Any.do widget displaying my various appointments (not shown here)
- Both panels use a dock:
- Left folder contains my most used Google apps and the right folder has my favorite apps
- Other Dock Icons are all essential phone apps (Typeapp, Textra, Phone, Contacts+, Camera)
Theme:
- Substratum theme manager (ROOT) and Swift Black theme
- Wallpaper a fully black 1080x1920 png file made with Linux Gimp
Nova Launcher & OOS Gestures:
- 1 Finger down expands notifications
- 2 Fingers up displays application draw
- 2 Fingers down displays settings
- Long press on Home button triggers Google Assistant as well is saying "OK Google" from any screen
I only like dark themes which helps save battery with an AMOLED screen. I'm also a minimalist and detest screens scattered with icons when they can so easily be accessed from the app draw or an on screen folder. To me it's like looking at a room strewn with discarded cloths.
