[ROM] CM7.1 Raw Build by DragonStalker Android 2.3.4 "TESTED" (5-2-11)

This is the first run "TEST" of the CM7.1 Android 2.3.4.
FIRST OFF FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM IN NOW WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR FIRE THEFT BRICKING OF OR TO YOUR DEVICE.
I am not a professional dev like most of your favs. I just like to make my own roms, and just happened to think would be nice to release.
This is based off the CM7.1 Android 2.3.4 build thats been in the making. It does not have the Video GTalk. That will have to come later. But this is VERY fast and VERY smooth IMHO.
I loaded this over RoyalGinger and all it did was speed it up a lil bit.
Loaded clean and works flawless. I saw no issues. If you find any please let me know and if it's in my power i will fix it.

Phone Calls "CLEAR"
Camera
WIFI Calling
Torch.
Not Working:
haven't found anything as of yet.

So is your build part of the OP or did you hijack the thread? I want to know so I know which one to download.

We both worked on this at the same time. And got most our stuff from the same place. So i can assure you either you download is cool and will probably look the same.

We basically did the build around the same time. You could download either. I posted mine just as a mirror as I doubt anything changed in the source since dragon did his build. Only thing I've noticed so far is there is a little delay with the screen coming on when you wake it.

I have Royal Ginger with this loaded on top of it. I didn't wipe and everything works fine. I did a wipe and still had fully functional device. So i went back and Restored RoyalGinger reloaded Android 2.3.4 over it so i can flash Updated Gapps.

Nice. Can't wait to try out video calling.

Im getting "421 resources temporarily unavailable 4.9.0" when setting up email. I tried auto setup and manual.

OK. The whole reason for me getting this build and putting in the work was for VIDEO GTALK. I got voice chat to work with no problem over wifi. Haven't tried 3g or 4g as i'm in Augusta, Ga and 4G sucks butt here. If somebody figures out how to get Video working on it. Please let me know. Kept saying i wasn't configured for vid chat at this time and wife is calling me for dinner so i gotta go.

What email are you trying to setup. I'll look and see if i can duplicate the error and find out how to fix it.

I flashed over build 58 and my email is fine. But it was setup before so the settings just transferred over.

Ok, first of all....what rom are you using? I suspect that you're on a gingerbread based rom since this is one of the known issues with 2.3.3 and video chat apps as of now. If this is true then like I said, this is a known bug and there's no fix for this currently! You can do one of two things....either flash back to 2.2 and use your video chat app or deal with it and work around it until the bug is worked out......GOOD LUCK DUDE!!

Read that on the 'myTouch 4G Q&A.' I was wondering will that fix work with the Evo too? I have the same problem and I'm using CM7.
Also, if I was to try this fix where is that build.prop file?

That seems to be up in the air at the moment, personally i've had good luck with pa-gapps-full modular ones found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942.

sweet build by the way, just got done building a cm build myself. Camera issue seems to be the only thing I have ran into as far as noticable problems go so offical nightlies should be on there way very soon. Until then a repo sync a day will keep the need for nerve pills away lol!!!

There's way too much missing from this OP. It will definitely raise a red flag among the moderators. You might want to get some help from someone who has set up an OP.

This isn't a "ROM" per se, just a preview of cm nightlies when they become available. I don't anticipate too many more updates

No, the mute button does not work on this Rom either. Other than that it runs very smoothly.

Can you add MJB bootloader as well. Im on MJB and wasnt able to flash you rom. Thank you very much

It already has support for that bootloader. I am using it and it installed fine.

Instagram video uploading error. On 4.4.2

I'm currently running Temasek 4.4.2 ROM and nobody can figure out why Instagram forecloses on video upload. Here's the logcat error I get . any help is appreciated.

"Its a known issue"
But I want to know WHY
Happens on all 4.3 or higher roms on Note 2 even the stock update it crashed on me

Wish i could help. I have always wondered about this myself...

Well can you tell me who's working on this? Most developers don't go into the Q&A section to solve development issues, so I choose to place it here. This issues is well too advanced for this topic to be answered by some noob who doesn't know anything. Anyway At least we know this CM issues on every 4.3 and 4.4 ROM. Most apps need a cache folder to work properly. It looks for a specific folder to save on, but the way CM files are set and named , the video cache file for Instagram won't allow it to save, therefore it forecloses.

So. For a while it worked for me on 4.4 roms. Then i formatted my memory card and note it doesn't work on any. Not sure if it's due to updates or removing something.
What cache folder can it not create? Can we manually create it and change its permissions ?

Strange. When I used the ROM Team Canjica CM 10.2 functioned normally upload videos on instagram.

Take Somali.lib from my meanbean ROM and put in your lib folder.

This fix only works for the Galaxy Note 2 or any device running Android 4.4.2?

Not even sure it will work on asop

Grab somali. Lib from system/lib folder in my mean bean rom then put in your lib folder and set permission

...and, what rom are you using? which device do you have? v 510gpe? Verizon? The 500? Are you rooted? Are you trying to use something other than the default video player? Any other pertinent information that we need to be aware of? Like, does the camera work? was it working last night?, or not for weeks?
Nobody can help you without knowing these answers. This pretty much goes the same for any question you might have about your device, other than of course the camera related questions.

Lg g pad version not rooted ...no other apps installed. Stopped working a long time ago. It says can't record during call!?

To rule out hardware, download another video recording app from the playstore to see if it works.
Camera works yes?
I would also make sure nothing was disabled in settings that would interfere.
Also, go to settings- applications- all, and find the camera/ video recorder and clear the data. Maybe do this first

Done that. Video works on google camera but not stock-same message.cleared cache to no avail....no idea what is going on

For future reference you need to give as much detail as possible. Its easier for people to help you. While trying to record a video try and get a logcat. If you don't know how, google search for it and it will explain how. If you still can't figure it out pm me and I will guide you further.
Post the logcat here if you succeed in getting it. Thanks
