Can anyone please tell me if they have figured out a way to create a homescreen shortcut to open bluetooth settings on a TW rom on a Note 2?
Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but nothing I have tried has worked. I can create a shortcut for every other setting that works, but the one for bluetooth always says "app isn't installed." I have tried many bluetooth settings apps and widgets in the playstore, but none of them have worked - they all state "<appname> has stopped" when invoked.
TIA for any help.
I have different tiles on my pull down notification shade. If I long press on a tile the settings menu opens.
I did not know that you could long press the icons to get the settings. Thanks!

I'm new to Android, and cannot for the life of me figure out how to access some sort of option menu for individual widgets. Holding down the press just gives me the chance to delete it. For instance, I'm trying to change the colors/background of Digital Clock Widget, but cannot find any way to do this. The widgets do not show up in Apps so I cannot think of another way to get to options...
EDIT or another example, I tried TypoClock, but the bottom of it is cut off... I know I could resize it by paying for LauncherPro Plus, but come on, I don't want to REsize it, I just need it to be 'normal' size! I see everyone else's as correct, surely not EVERYONE has the paid version of the program just so they can resize the clock to its APPROPRIATE size????
EDIT think I may have resolved this, reset LauncherPro defaults. I wonder if it was my changing of the rows/columns? Probably...
You get to the widget menus by adding a widget to the home screen. When you add the widget, if it has any sort of menu, it will pop up prior to being added to the homescreen. Alternatively, some widgets may have some sort of menu system built into them, but I am sure they would have clearly recognizable buttons on the widget itself to access said menu.
I noticed the popup menu with some... I guess you have to re-add if you want to change something...
but at least now I know there isn't some generic hidden widget option menu. Thanks.
On many widgets, if you tap on them, that will bring up menus or advanced features.

Widgets based from applications have their options inside the application they originate.

I'm back to Sense again, and I'm having trouble with this widget....
If I choose camera as a shortcut, the 'drawer' that opens from the shortcut shows the last few photos taken; that's all good
However, any other app I try doesn't give any options in the drawer. I've tried all the obvious apps like messages, calendar, browser etc... Also, I've made sure that I've got a new message, new appointment etc.... But the the drawer just has text saying 'Tap icon to open application'
Anyone got it working as it should, any tips?
I'm on Runnydroid 5.0 btw
cheers
anyone????
(I don't want to post in the ROM thread....)
Unless I'm just missing it, I can't figure out how to set an ActiveSync quickpanel button. Anyone else figure that out or recommend a way how to do it or shortcut for it? Nova shortcuts doesn't work for this. Thanks!
I mean apps that have overlay function when called outside that said app, that function doesn't work.
For example:
Pie Control's shortcuts only work while I'm inside Pie Control itself. I can go to WhatsApp or Dialer for example from Pie Control, but once I'm in another app, I can't go to the others via Pie Control shortcuts.
Reachability Cursor is another one, I can't tap icons, though it can be fixed by disable and re-enable its accessibility settings.
Videoder (a video downloading app) shows pop up with download button whenever I copy a video link, but when I tap that button, nothing happens and the pop up just go away. BUT when I open the link inside the app, I can download the video just fine.
it seems like apps don't work outside of their "environment", I don't know if there's any setting switch that I'm missing or something...
Hi there!
I don't know how they are called in the english original, but on my P6P I really miss the little dots e.g. on the Mail App when there are new messages.
In my options it has this option and it is on, but there aren't any of these dots. I really miss them, cause so you always have to pull down to see where there's something new when you are already using your phone.
Anyone a conclusion for me?
In the GMail app? I can't picture the dots.
That's called "Notification dot on app icon" and can be found in System Settings --> Notifications, down near the bottom.
It can also be turned on and off on a per-application basis by going into the application specific notification settings at System Settings --> Notifications --> App settings --> {whatever}, and switching on/off the option to "Allow notification dot" at the bottom.
But personally, I dislike this "feature". If the application notifies you, then why not click it instead of running around through your menus trying to find the one with the dot?
Thank you for the right name of what I'm looking for
But no I don't run around looking for these dots, I just open the phone and mostly there are WhatsApp or Mail news and I always have to look inside to see if there's anything new when I don't want to swipe down for my notifications.
The Settings are all set, but there are no dots for me!
Don't know if this matters, but I use the Nova Launcher.

You need to allow notification access in Nova for the dots or badges to appear. Go into Nova settings > Notification Badges and then tap the message at the bottom of your screen to enable read access to notifications.
You can also check if notifications have been disabled by going into System Settings > Notifications > Device and App Notifications and checking if Nova is enabled or disabled.
The hint with the settings brought me to the solution I think. It seems you need Nova Launcher Prime for the dots
