Lately I've noticed that Chrome isn't running smooth at all and since there are a lot of alternative browsers, I was wondering which one do you prefer any why?
Firefox and Dolphin Browser

I use the AOSP browser.
i use javelin browser for few days, didnt think that much before installing it, but eventually really liked it.
RIght now I'm using Now Browser, it's based on lightning browser but even lighter.
mine is chrome.
+1 for Firefox, using extensions. I also have an HTC One and I like Opera on that.
The best browser I've downloaded is a floating popup browser, called "Floating Browser COBRA". It has a lot more settings/customization than the Samsung popup browser, so much that I don't even use Samsung's anymore.

Chrome as a daily driver for sure. Firefox and the AOSP browser are best for privacy though.
Javelin!!!!
As much as I despise chrome, I simply use it daily for the sole purpose of syncing everything. Other than that, I also agree that it's not smooth and laggy as hell!

Looks to be, after installing says browser already installed, but mines was already built-in my PA 4.1.2 ROM.
That meaning said, I've tested many newer ROMs 4.2-4.4 w/built-in AOSP browser and they all had weird bugs(in full screen mode browser and ROM), which is one of many reason's I still am sticking to 4.1.2, tablet mode being the main reason.

That is the aosp browser.
If you want multi window use omnimetal. It should still have multi window.
If it's been removed from the rom just let me know. I have an older build with working multi window on my "sdcard".
Opera seems to be alright...

Habit Browser
Loved AOSP when it was a viable option. Nothing beat Quick Controls. But I like Dolphin Browser now, pretty stable.
Yeah AOSP is the best still. although Chrome is getting less buggy and not as laggy. nothing beats the pie controls on aosp though.

I found the stock browser pretty dang good but it can't tab (can't figure out) so sometime I use dolphin mini. I found some custom roms preloaded with maxthon and also heard some people praised about the Opera, which I haven't try. Which one do you prefer?
Before I jumped to the dinc2 I used dolphin hd. But since the speed of the stock browser is pretty snappy here I now just use stock. As for tabs, there are no tabs in stock but you do have "windows". List press menu then press windows.
I always preferred dolphin because you can close the app whenever you want. The stock browser doesn't have this feature, i believe its "always" open. I've been told that it doesn't really matter because GB controls the memory for our phones pretty well, but I'm just OCD about that those kinds of things...
Xscope Pro is my fav just because it is the only browser with "Pin-to-zoom." This feature makes one-handed use a delight since double tap isnt always enough. It also has a file broswer and great bookmark tools. I really hope a new version comes out or Miren adds pin-to-zoom
Miren is amazing. If it had pin-to-soom and a working "'text selection" feature it would be hands down the best. It renders facebook the best and its main page and bookmaking and "one key backuping" are sweet.
Opera mini is allegedly/suppoosedl faster but i dont think os. I do like how selt-text and copy-paste work/look. wish i could set default download folder but that not a big deal.
Dolphine mini- not as many features as HD dolph but its fast and has enough featues to be mentione.
Also, stock MIUI is kinda sick.
FFbeta has soo much potential but needs flash support.
I've always liked the stock best, but after trying all the browsers I could find I like dolphin mini as a close second.

Boat Browser Mini is my fav
Stock here.
I like the stock miui browser, it feels very snappy and has a nice homepage layout.
Can't go wrong with Opera!

+1 for the Miui browser. Its one of the best but only available with the miui rom.
Stock works great, but I'm loving the latest release of Dolphin.
Wheres regular Opera not mini.
Thats the one I'm using. Really smooth and works great.
Am I the only one using Firefox mobile? Actually, don't use my browser much, but Firefox sync's all my bookmarks automatically between my Dinc2 and my desktop computer.
Whatever happened to chrome coming to the android platform? Once upon a time, there was talk...

Miren is very similar
The thing is Chrome would not truely be Chrome on our phones. Chrome is such a powerful browser because it opens each tab as a seperate process... It would be such a memory hog on the android so idk if it world work too well...

I was a big fan of it as well, until I tried Dolphin and Opera. They are both faster than the Miui browser.
Scrolling and crashing are known bugs for chrome. It's just mainly optimized for the pure google devices for now.

I used to use Chrome on my CM9 powered GT 10.1, but I grew sick of the crashes and the absence of Flash support.
I have to be honest, I used Dolphin for a long time, have tried Opera and Firefox, but I always come back to the stock ICS browser.

Stock ICS browser is cool, but swap it out for AOSP browser...seems faster with a couple more features. Grab the one in the Frankenstein rom and while your there grab the AOSP MMS...much nicer.

Honestly, CM9 feels much more stable than TW ICS right now. I suggest you guys try it out and go on IRC for today's build, which can't get any better

Only new devices (nexus 4,7,10,etc) will ship with Chrome instead of the Android browser.

That is true, default browser still is better than Chrome in many scenarios, Flash work with it, it uses less RAM and performance in general seems to be better... I'll admit that Chrome is getting better, but, I still prefer the stock android browser, and, anyway, if I want to use Chrome it is just a download away...
Google have launched a new beta channel for Chrome Android, the new version is now 25.0.1354.8, it is available on the Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.beta
Just done a few tests, in Sunspider it is now as fast as ASOP browser, but scrolling can still be janky, compared to stock Jelly Bean browser, which is disappointing. Try using www.theverge.com, IMO ASOP is still smoother, I now this is beta, but seriously Google please do not release Chrome v25 and still be less smooth than stock browser.
Its just as smooth as the stock browser for me on the verge.

For me scrolling is still laggy until the entire web page loads, also on The Verge, the screen goes blank when you scroll quickly, which doesn't happen on ASOP.
So forgive my stupidity, but what it wrong with the version that came with the N7? Why doesn't Google just patch it instead of a new beta?

The main reason afaik is that Chrome Android was closed source, but Chromium is open-source, Google decided to port Chrome Android back into its open-source browser project, this is not yet complete. Apparently they are targeting Chrome v25 Stable as the completion point, in the meantime we have the new Beta.
crashes way too often and kills the battery on my RAZR. too afraid to try it on my nexus.
i'll stick with full chrome and stock AOSP browser for flash.

Known Issue
"Frequent freeze on devices with specific versions of Qualcomm GPU driver"
You can run Chrome and Chrome Beta side by side, doing so on my Nexus 7, without any problems.
Still no automatic text reflow when using pinch zoom
Is Opera the only browser doing this correctly?

Stock JB Browser IS Chrome. Or did you mean to say the Older (Chrome 18) version compared to the Chrome Beta (25)?
The old browser is "AOSP Browser", or Google seems to refer to it as "Android Browser".

Not if you're using AOSP JB, but to clarify I meant Chrome beta 25 vs AOSP browser.
Anyway this is still beta, so I shouldn't moan, according to a user on the N10 forum, the improved scroll threading is not part of this beta.

I posted this for the nexus 4 users:
This build won't include the new renderer that improves the scrolling as it isn't finished yet (but should be ready by the time the final version comes).
This issue here is the one we've all been waiting for, It should finally improve the speed of the scrolling for good

Awesome. Looking forward to trying this out.
Thanks OP I've been running it since last night. Seems smoother than stock Chrome but it's probably my imagination.
Been using it since last night, and so far I like it. Seems faster than official version, definitely benchmarks better. I like that you can have both browser simultaneously on the device. At least go nude

Damn auto-correction
It seems to stutter quite a bit for me. I tried it for an hour or so but what kills it is that the page content freezes when switching tabs. Close one tab and the other tab will have the old page on it until either rotating the screen or choosing another tab. Super annoying.

But i've heard that google plans or have replaced the stock browser with chrome in 4.2.2? Is that true? It the stock browser gone in the SGS4 with 4.2.2 fw?
Chrome for me is just super laggy and slow with no support for full screen

well on theory the browser is Samsung's stuff not google so i would like to believe that the browser will not be changed, it is really awesome and I talk with the experience of having had to change my stock browser in all my previous devices because they were terrible.
