Have only had my Xda11s for a week and am very pleased with it except for voicemail notification.
I like to get straight back to customers who leave voicemails, but unlike my old Nokia phone which used to leave both a text message AND phone me back several times, my Xda11s has only been leaving text messages which if I am driving, I do not always notice.
I have been into the 901 options and selected "Voice notification" now I get nothing back at all to tell me somebody has left a message (tried it by leaving a message myself).
Any one have any bright ideas why this is or how I can get both a text message and a phone call back from 901 please?
Sorry to answer myself, but having left a second messgae to myself, voicemail did phone back so perhaps it takes 5 or 10 minutes to activate itself.
No text message though, so I presume you can only have one or the other with O2 on Xda's?
Does anybody know if you can have both?
I'm no expert as I don't use voice-mail, but such features are network dependant. In other words, it's the network (O2 or whoever) that calls you back or sends a text, not the phone. The phone merely allows you to change the settings without calling your network provider. If it isn't allowing you to set it up as you wish, you have two options.
One, read your network guide where there will be a list of commands you can use via your phone to change settings (often in the form *# Number number #) or
Two, phone your network provider and ask someone to set up your account to do this for you.
When I update my voicemail settings, or call forwarding, I get a "Unexpected response fron network" error message. I called my provider (Rogers) and said it appears to be correct on their system... However, it doesn't seem so because when people call me, they get forwarded to Google Voice... I already uninstalled Google Voice, and it was taken out already, however, it still forwards to there which is a USA number and I'm in Canada, so people who call me get forwarded to a long distance number and it bothers me and them so much...
Rogers told me to contact HTC but I want to hear your solutions first guys... BTW, I'm using the Virtuous ROM (which is almost entirely stock packages)
Help?

did you use the star codes to disable call forwarding?
What are the star code? Already forgot them... heh

I was getting the same error and this worked for my desire on orange:-

"Try sending ##21# which is the network code to cancel all forwarding."
Call Forwarding Problem
I have an unlocked AT&T Atrix on Orange UK running Gingerbread. As soon as you go and look at the Call Forwarding options the phone indicates that all calls are Forwarded and the Icon top left turns on, disabling 'Foward All' shows disabled for a few seconds then comes back with the 'Unexpected reponse from network' message, although calls are not actually Forwarded (can still receive calls). Old SIM card, but OK in old V3x phone. I tried with a '3' Network SIM and all works as expected, so definitely an Orange problem with Android/Atrix. I called Orange who sent some SIM updates one of which failed, called them again and they decided to send me a new SIM but this has made no difference at all.
Only way to reset the indicator and message once on, is to enter ##21# which does the job.
Just an annoying Network bug but interested if anyone knows how to get Orange (and I guess T-Mobile) to do anything about this as it seems from other research to affect several different phone makes and models.
Same issue
I'm Having the same issue on Rogers with my Xperia ion....still ahven't sorted it out
Any Resolution to this issue? I have what appears to be an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Active from ATT and attempting to use my CRICKET SIM and I get this message.
[Q] HTC Desire - phone not receiving incoming calls & mms arriving 2/3 hours later
Hi,
My phone is unable to receive incoming calls, i can call out no problem. Also i'm receiving my txt messages 2/3 hours later...Callers are being sent straight to voicemail!!!
Been onto my provider (Orange) and they've updated my sim with no success and they've looked at the phone's firmware, got the latest. Android Ver 2.2.2 & Software 2.29.405.7 - it started after this lastest update actually!!!
Tried using sim in another phone, works fine no problems.
Factory reset my phone to no avail.
Nothing seems to work.
Can someone help please....been like this for about 4 weeks...
Thanks...
1) Settings--> Wireless&Networks --> Mobile Networks --> Network Operators..
2) Select 'Search Networks' and allow the search to complete. Select the operator you are with.
Would seem that the network lock is not so good on Desire S, works reportedly for a lot of users this way
Got the same problem with my desire on vodafone. I can get texts, voicemail and ring out, but cant receive calls and the sim works in another non android phone.
It seems to have started the same time I tried signing up to google voice. I've checked I am connected to the network, vodafone is my call forwarding service and there are no call baring forwarding settings enabled on the phone. I then I blamed it on the cyanogen 7 #262 build, and reverted to the runny crux 5 rom which worked fine before but still no joy.
Had no luck accessing the settings for my phone on google voice, there seems to be no where in the settings to turn it off. Sort of stumped now...
Hey guys.
I have an E250K note II phone (purchased from Korea). I had all sorts of problems with it
- korean apps that i couldnt remove (even after rooting)
- voicemail option (number 1 button), does not work
- OLLEH logo on bootup
- when i get a call, and reject it, it hangs up on the caller, not forward to the VM (my mobile provided reset my account 5 times, no help)
all sort of things
now i installed the Milan 3.0 ROM, and it was magic, EVERYTHING got fixed, with the exception of, receiving a call, and rejecting it
I think it is a feature in the ROM that i cannot find out a solution for
I think the Milan ROM is a chinese one, but it is way better than the stock korean one
So now, what i am looking for, is if someone calls me and i cant pickup, and i swipe the reject button, i want the caller to be able to go to voicemail, instead of hanging up on them
when i even look at the call log, it shows, "cancelled" as the call status
I am not looking for google voicemail or something like that..
i just want the basic functionality of the phone to work i guess.
so i am pretty sure there is something, a hack, or something that would allow the forward calls when busy to VM
when not available or unreachable, it takes the caller normally to VM, it is the call forward when busy is what i am having trouble with
Any help with that, i would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
wow 86 views.. and no one knows....
I seriously need help from anyone please.
Thanks
I'm interested in this too. I wasn't aware that rejected calls didn't go to voice mail until recently and that's not what I wanted to happen.
Edit:
Hmm. Maybe this depends on where the call originates from. I just tried calling my phone from Skype and call reject sent it to voicemail, but when I get a forwarded call from work it just hangs up.
Can anyone else confirm?

anyone cares to chime in and tells us something on how to fix this?
is this caused by ROM maybe?
I tried a US rom made for the 7105 models, (i didnt install the modem), and the voicemail option VANISHED, got back to the original rom i had, VM is back, but back to square one, which is hanging up on rejected calls, normal calls that is.
I had my EVO 4G flashed to Boost about a year ago and overall it's been very stable. A couple days ago I suddenly stopped being able to make or receive calls and texts despite not having made any changes to the phone whatsoever. I called Boost to rule out an outage in my area or any problems with payment, but was hesitant to get into technicalities for risk of divulging that I had a flashed phone and possibly being deactivated. Here are the symptoms:
-Can't send or receive texts.
-Can't make or receive calls. When I try to make a call, the dial tone only does one ring and then goes silent. It automatically hangs up about 15 seconds later. When others call me they get a message saying "All circuits to voicemail are currently busy. Please try again later. Message 787 11"
-It still shows I have reception and 3G. Oddly, data still works for apps (Pandora, Facebook, etc.) even with WiFi off, and I still get voicemail notifications even though I can't call voicemail.
-When I try to update Profile or PRL it fails with an error code 1012
Everything I've read online seems to point to using either dialer codes ##3282# to restore data profile, ##72786# to reset, or ##786# to reset, then doing the hands free activation. However, I was wondering if any of these would undo the flash. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I was able to fix this so I thought I'd just post a follow up if anyone is having the same issue.
First, I restored a nandroid backup of the stock ROM I had taken after the phone was flashed to Boost whereas the one I was using before was taken before the phone was flashed. This cleared up the 1012 errors when trying to update profile and PRL but I still couldn't call or text. I tried a few more things after that which seemed to have no effect like doing a ##MSL#, setting the MSID to all zeros, and letting it do the hands free activation after reboot. This succeeded but when I looked at the MSID again it was set back to what it originally was... Weird.
I still couldn't call or text but then something really weird happened. When trying to call my voicemail to test whether or not I could call, it put me through to Boost customer service instead. They said they were seeing error code 16 (whatever that means) on their end while I was trying to reach voicemail over and over. (I lied and told them it was a Sanyo Incognito when they asked about the device... Very important) They called me back on my girlfriend's phone while they did something with mine on their end and then had me reboot. Lo and behold, it worked!
So I guess the moral of the story is if you're having this problem just keep unsuccessfully calling in to voicemail until they get sick of seeing all the errors and patch you through to customer support. (Or just call them directly, but whatever )
