Try clearing AGPS data. You should be able to do that in GPS Test.

Did that, no go. How many are you getting btw, and what radio are you on?

I'm using UVMC6 (rooted stock JB, never had a custom ROM) and getting 19 sats in view and 12 in use. By the looks of your signal bars, you're not getting strong enough signal to use any--it's just seeing that the sats are there.

Huh, I'll try ODINing to 4.1.2 then. If that doesn't work, I'll just sell it on eBay. Probably gonna get a Motorola Atrix HD (cheaper than SGS2, better res screen, but no hardware buttons or NFC).
Could you try running that app without the wifi/data on?
Also, for some reason my gps clock doesn't set like yours does. SMH.
Ok update, GPS is working, but it takes a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time to get locks.

It should be quicker next time... even my Garmin eTrex takes forever if I haven't used it in a while.

Yeah, actually it does work. But initially, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes (after boot that is), and then it grabs signal within 10 seconds.
Weird...Oh well, I don't even use the GPS. The CPU and GPU are super powerful, so it's a great phone I have my CPU overclocked at 1.7GHz and GPU underclocked to 177MHz (but it's still powerful. I don't play games on it).

Hmm.. probably is the ROM problem? have you tried trying your GPS on other ROMs?
EDIT: I mean ROMs other than Android Revolution HD.

sometimes it can take up to 30 mins to get lock for the first attempt. are you trying indoors or outdoors? it really needs to be outdoors with clear sight to the sky for best results
Yes.. Like what andywright1982 says, at least 30 minutes. Sometimes my first attempt can take me at least 15 minutes. (Yes, its frustrating. sigh)
very intersting...
30 min for first attemp?
* i have tried outdoors, with view on the sky.
thx for reply.
Have you tried this?

Yeah first time after flashing a custom rom and radio it took ages. I put it on the bench outside and left it, checking every fe mins. Now it gets lock within 10-20 seconds

4.0.4 GPS issues

Has anyone else experienced issues with the GPS having a hard time locating after the update? It used to work flawlessly on 402 but now it's pretty much worthless.

GPS has been normal for me since update. Just checked with the GPS test app and it located just fine.

Went into the app's settings > "Update AGPS" and it improved to this:
GPS fine here. And there.

GPS works fine for me here. I'm on stock 4.0.4 yakju rooted. I think GPS initialization is even faster than 4.0.3 (EBMod)
Fine for me too. Faster locking actually. Are you using a custom rom, kernel?
No, completely stock and not rooted. Maybe it's just my imagination, just seems like before the update it worked great and now it can't find me. Even did my update ota.

I too have found myself with the location problem... Maps Google+ Facebook location based features do not work. I have however noticed that when you switch down to 2G it locates fine. I dont know if its data stored in that partition thats causing it maybe, if any devs can chime in and the help would be greatly appreciated.
Rooted running latest Gummy rom and Baseband I9250UGLC1
Just an update after troubleshooting I stopped by a T-Mobile store and had my sim card replaced and that did it for me. Once its replaced make sure you cycle off and on a few times.

Interesting, I'll have to try the new sim card thing. Thanks for the heads up.

Check this out!

I had a weird thing happen with my signal today. It kept going out, and data just wouldn't work! Although the 3G icon was there nothing would download. Here is a pic of the connection status! Look at the mobile network type!

i had this happen to me for like two weeks on and off. After a while it would do this to me while the bars were blue! I tried toggling my data on and off, toggling airplane on and off, rebooting and even calling sprint to have them restart my data. This even followed me from rom to rom. The only way I got rid of it was to download the complete FH05 jellybean tar and odin back to stock jelly bean. I tried to odin to FD02 and except the ota but it followed me there too. Its wierd, and it started after I flashed a certain rom(wont name it cuz i cant be sure it had anything to do with it) and then the rom gave me some probs I wiped and restored my nandroid of cm10 I had before I flashed the mystery rom and thats when it started. And cm10 was working awesome for like three weeks before the mystery rom flash. I mean problems dont just pop up, theyre either there or theyre not.
Well I ended up calling Sprint today to find out what the problem was and they told me it was due to some tower being worked on! Maybe it has to do with the LTE?
I've had that happen to me a couple of times. Mainly its when I had it set to run on GSM/Edge/LTE/HSPA+ mode.
Its just due to the way your phone finds the best tower. It shouldn't hurt your phone, or affect your data in any way. Just switch your roaming profile to home only. It should fix it.
And to the Photoshop guy...
Are you that stupid? Seriously, use your mind. It doesn't look photoshopped. Even if it was, it would be a decent work.

CM10 LTE/3G signal thingy.

So, you know how the lte->3g handoff sucks on aosp, well, examine these photos

Notice that it says lte. I'm not in a lte zone but lte works under this setting.
Now notice the network mode? That option is the option when you use the lte widget. It DOESNT say evdo. So possibly peoples lte-> elements are stemming from the fact that this mode doesn't have evdo. Just a theory. Comments? I noticed when I lost lte and didn't get 3g during this setting.
In front of a live studio audience
But that option is there for TouchWiz too. The aosp issue has something to do with an incorrect apn or something like that
But there evdo on touchwiz. Promise. The evdo is missing

Sorry, dont quite understand what you're trying to get at here?

He thinks a graphical mistake is our issue. I highly doubt such a thing would pass our many brilliant devs. Default for CM is for it to say that since the base is used for all of our alternates (att..T-Mobile..Verizon)

IDK. I have mine set to LTE/CDMA/EVDO, and I get 3G fine when I lose 4G. I'm using CM10.1. In fact, when I started this post, was on 3G. I'm now on 4G. The handoff was seamless.
Edit: I realized you meant it was an issue with using the widget, so I added the LTE toggle and turned LTE off then back on. My Network Mode screen still shows LTE/CDMA/EVDO and still connects to 3G. Perhaps there's a bug somewhere, but I don't think it's with the LTE widget.
In case it helps, I don't notice any extra battery usage over LTE compared to 3G, so I just leave LTE on all the time. I've never had an issue doing that. Perhaps you could, too, and the toggle widget bug won't be an issue.
The only issues I ever have is going back to 4g after losing it. Going from 4g to 3g is fine, 3g to 4g is a bit off.

Google maps draining my entire battery

Since about a week the battery life of my one X has become terrible. According to the battery usage screen, google maps seems to be draining all the juice. Im not actually using gm though, so something must be going on in the background.

Thanks in advance!

And how do I do that? I can close the process, but it will automatically go back on. Disabling the app itself is not something I know how to do and not really something I would like to do either.
Perhaps one other thing of importance: when I open maps (or now) it says location services are turned off, while they are not.

disable from settings app manager OR
get greenify from playstore and just greenify it
problem solved :good:
Also, where do you live at? Might be your not connected to the right sattelites for your region. You could go to play store and download faster fix and make sure your phone is reading off the right satellites.
