I've been searching the forums for any help i can find regarding flashing a Sprint S2 to Boost mobile and can't find an answer. I decided to post a new thread since other threads haven't had responses in a year or more.
With that said I have done this before in 2012 with my HTC Evo 4g to Boost. Love it a lot but now its time to upgrade my phone so i bought a Sprint S2 SPH-D710 to flash to boost mobile and do this again. It took me a few hours to remember how to do everything but it was far easier the second time around. One I had all the information copied to the S2 it would not connect to the boost network. I've tried numerous things except calling up boost and saying my phone won't connect for some reason (LOL).
I feel as though I'm missing something, probably something stupid! I am on vacation so I'm pulling this from memory until i get home.
I copied the 4 Nv Items 465, 466, 1192 and 1194 from my donor (initially my Evo, didn't work so went to donor, still didn't work).
Retrieved both SPC codes for the phones
Retrieved Ha/AAA keys from donor
Copied all information in CDMA workshop such as numbers directories ect.
My MEID changed to donor MEID simply by copying the NV items and NOTHING else, Is that to good to be true?
If i open CDMA workshop and read the S2 it reads the ESN as incorrect on the top right, but correctly in the program itself. Weird?
Did a factory reset multiple times and even had it rooted (then soft bricked)
Tried a different modem (then soft bricked)
Are there any tricks I may be forgetting? I think I may just call up Boost and play the "my phone no worky" card even though I manually changed the PRL through DFS. It will only say searching for service. At least if it connected and didn't have 3G or Wifi thats something I can troubleshoot, I just don't get squat.
Any second thoughts would be very helpful for getting this up and running
Thanks,

This is one of the guides I used to refresh my memory. But for some reason after doing all this it wouldn't connect. Drove me mad and I had to give up for a few weeks.I had tried switching modems but it bricked it so i didn't try another one. When I get home I'll try again, if that doesn't fix it I may just send it out to have it Flashed by someone who does this daily. Any recommendation?

Ok this is the run down I purchased a tmobile g2 full price. ( as a result of bad credit though ) and I went to go get a service plan which I chose simple mobile. If u don't know what simple mobile is just google it. But after programming the apn to pick up simple mobiles data network I began. Searching how to root. Found an excellent tutorial @ theunlockr by the way, but I rooted and booted and flash cm 6 then 7 u know the routine. Then I tehthered once which mind you never hit over 1 gig which is below the suposed 2 gig data cap. And in return I received a text from simple mobile which told me I was in violation of terms and conditions. I called in and they said that I was blah blah and that the first warning was that they would limit my data usuage aka throttle my data. So I'm like omfg really u can do that when u advertise unlimited everything for 60 bucks a month. In reality they can and I believe they did because my web, market, and all other applications that used data began to lagg majorly. So I'm googling and googling for a why and a fix but nothing. So I come up with this crazy idea.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Went over to theunlockr and watched the " http://theunlockr.com/2010/12/01/how-to-unroot-the-t-mobile-g2-htc-vision/how to un root the g2 " did everything it said and went back to stock.
Once back at stock and booted the phone programmed the apn again to simple mobile and opened the browser the pages began to load very quickly. So to further test I. Opened the market and downloaded 3 apps in a matter of seconds. So thus I came to the conclusion that in order to obtain consistant boosted 3g aka 4g(H) you must keep your phone stock.
I do believe u can root it again because I have done so via visionary but just DO NOT FLASH ANY CUSTOM ROMS keep the stock g2 vision rom and you will have A PHONE AS TOURBO CHARGE FAST AS YOU ARE!
Hope this helps those confused by wtf just happen to my data speed.
Uh sorry to rain on your parade but this isn't a fix dude. There are a few guides on how to unroot here already

And what did they actually say in the blah blah part? Was it tethering that is against theyre tos or rooting? I was under the impression simple mobile didnt care about phones...? I ask because im thinking of switching to them if the att thing goes through. And if they survive after as well

I told u I logged in first time better check your password and such .....I did it on wifi also but have had a couple data drops on 3g but it still says 3g just no data have to toggle airplane mode....

It's not broken, this is a common problem for flashaholics.
You must go to your apps and devices section on a computer browser and delete some of your registered devices. Amazon only allows a certain number to be activated and every time you flash a new rom you activate a "new" device.
Don't know why they can't just make it tell you that you have too many devices registered. It would help avoid this whole situation.
thanks a bunch man, this worked. lol i had 12 epics registered in there

Thanks Man, read a few thread and no one could answer this.
I had a weird thing happen with my signal today. It kept going out, and data just wouldn't work! Although the 3G icon was there nothing would download. Here is a pic of the connection status! Look at the mobile network type!

i had this happen to me for like two weeks on and off. After a while it would do this to me while the bars were blue! I tried toggling my data on and off, toggling airplane on and off, rebooting and even calling sprint to have them restart my data. This even followed me from rom to rom. The only way I got rid of it was to download the complete FH05 jellybean tar and odin back to stock jelly bean. I tried to odin to FD02 and except the ota but it followed me there too. Its wierd, and it started after I flashed a certain rom(wont name it cuz i cant be sure it had anything to do with it) and then the rom gave me some probs I wiped and restored my nandroid of cm10 I had before I flashed the mystery rom and thats when it started. And cm10 was working awesome for like three weeks before the mystery rom flash. I mean problems dont just pop up, theyre either there or theyre not.
Well I ended up calling Sprint today to find out what the problem was and they told me it was due to some tower being worked on! Maybe it has to do with the LTE?
I've had that happen to me a couple of times. Mainly its when I had it set to run on GSM/Edge/LTE/HSPA+ mode.
Its just due to the way your phone finds the best tower. It shouldn't hurt your phone, or affect your data in any way. Just switch your roaming profile to home only. It should fix it.
And to the Photoshop guy...
Are you that stupid? Seriously, use your mind. It doesn't look photoshopped. Even if it was, it would be a decent work.

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the appropriate spot to post this, so I was just randomly messing with my phone and I went into edit mode for data ##3282# and i tapped on the HA PASSWORD and my swype pulled up and read everything behind the dots, I have boost mobile on my sg2 so that was "secret". I was blown away, so I tapped on the AAA Password and it too revealed the AAA PASSWORD. Just random, I thought I would share. I don't know if anyone has discovered this or not I googled it before creating this post and I couldn't find anything about it.

My guess is that swype is trying to do their prediction on a password field. The scary part is that I wonder if it's learning will cause an actually secure password to be remembered and displayed!
Yes spooky indeed.

I followed your suggestion and received the same results. Did you check to see if the displayed passwords were correct?

Yes, well partially, I know I get secret from the HA but, I get a different result from the AAA and the actual hex. I looked at the results via hex edit taken from a text file I saved along time ago that has all of my data hex info and it is different so I don't know what I'm actually pulling up. If that makes sense.
Apologies for the length of this post, just trying to put everything in order and not miss anything.
I have an old Boost Mobile 'Pay As You Go' account that is no longer offered, which has extremely cheap (35 cents/day) unlimited 3G data. The account is tied to a donor Sanyo Incognito, that is, that is the phone listed on the account.
Using some guides a couple years ago, I changed the ESN and MEID of my original Galaxy S (Epic 4G) to identify itself as the donor Incognito. This worked fine. Later, since I wanted a newer phone and would be using the phone (to talk) a lot for several months, I got a Boost Mobile S3, and it had its own account. Now, I've suspended that account, but want to move my old PAYGO account to the S3. I looked up some guides, and after finding my MSL and downgrading the modem to LG2, I put the phone into diag mode and used EFS Explorer to modify two EFS items, 0 and 1943, per this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263248&page=5 Due to the age of the thread (disregard the last post in it), I can't reliably ask for help.
I followed the instructions, and got an error message when trying to enable mobile data, something about needing to insert a SIM card. However, 3G data worked fine, despite there being no 3G icon in the status bar. Some further reading suggested that I downgrade and unroot back to stock. I found the oldest ROM I could, about 4 versions prior to the 4.4.2 update. I used Odin to install it, factory restored, and upgraded 1 by 1 to the latest ROM.
Now, there is more error about needing a SIM card, and I do get a 3G icon and working data - However, there are still other issues.
Whenever I reboot the phone, I get a brief "Preparing Network" line in the status bar. It goes away within seconds.
Also, when I enter ##DATA# (##3282#) and click View, then Advanced, in the list the results, the first 2 items are MEID and ESN. In the MEID entry, it has my hex and dec MEID, both correct. In the ESN entry, it has the hex and dec ESN, both wrong, still the S3's original values. When I did this on my 1st S1, it automatically derived the ESN from the MEID, no idea why the S3 isn't.
Are these errors likely to cause issues? If so, how can I fix them?
Hi! Long, maybe, but completely pertinent and easily understood, so bravo to you! ☺
I can only address the "Preparing Network" notification, although I've never used the S3 with any ROM older than MD4. But I do remember that before ND8, the phone would annoyingly present that message whenever enabling internet by any means (WIFI or mobile data).
I'm SO glad it doesn't do that any more, FYI!
