Hi just wondering if anyone knows how to bring back or stop the auto replacement feature of the stock samsung keyboard from dissapearing. I am currently using the Jedi kitkat rom which has it initially then after awhile it just seems to vanish. I can bring it back by reflashing to rom but it always seems to go mia again. Anyone have any ideas?

Well this doesn't really help me as I am trying to find out what the root cause for the feature just vanishing entirely and I know a lot of people are having similar issues where it just isnt there anymore. I have been using Wanam myself and I have made several changes and reboots and it doesn't seem to disappear. It is only after a day or so has gone by I notice it just isnt working anymore and low and behold its gone. I like using the stock samsung keyboard for the numbers on the top of the keyboard that seems native to the note series. Not only that but when its there the auto correction seems to be spot on. I realize swiftkey is nice and all and I have a paid version of it but I just dont like that it doenst have the number keys always on top
Beta has a dedicated numbers row.

NOOB HERE
Hi, I am using eugene373's newest PLANE JANE ICS ROM, the whole system seems to me is perfect, except the one issue about the touch keys backlight. Sometimes those four keys do not light up even I already unlock the screen, may have to wait for 15-30 seconds, then the backlight comes up. But sometime it works good. So I am just wondering is there any other this ROM users have same problem about this?
Its a little bug, everyone's got it. It'll probably be fixed soon.

Thanks for telling me that. I already had flashed the rom more than five times!! I thought that only because I installed something affect the lights.
PlainJane
Installed Rom.Everything seemed to work fine. But i could not get Talkatone working that what i use mostly.
Anyone else having this issue?
I started having a problem about 2 days ago where SwiftKey started misbehaving. I noticed when I would type, that the back button would flip between back and the collapse keyboard button and it would make it very difficult to to type and complete words. So I thought it was just a problem with SwiftKey, so I enabled the standard 4.2 Keyboard, and it did something different, this time, the keyboard kept collapsing and coming back up without me even typing anything. The keyboard icon in the notification bar also flashed on and off. Has anyone else had this happen and if so how did they fix it?
I have not seen this either on stock or cm, but I only use the stock keyboard.
Which rom are you using or is it stock?

I'm running MMuzzy 4.2.1. It's been fine up until a day or two ago, when it start acting up. I'm tempted to back everything up then just wipe it and re-install and see if that helps.
This is very strange, but after a clean wipe and new flash, it's still doing it. It almost seems like it's hitting the "back/down" button, but if it did that, you would think it would be constantly sending me back in apps and stuff, which it doesn't do. I'm at a loss now as to what caused it to suddenly do this. I have an extended battery if anyone thinks that makes a difference.
So yea... I think I figured it out. I went back and uninstalled any apps that I'd installed the past few days, and after I uninstalled an app created by my college, it stopped doing it. So something in that app was causing it to go goofy.
Well nevermind, it's doing it again now even without that app. I'm just not sure what's causing it.
Maybe you should try another ROM?

Yea i'll try loading a new ROM tonight. I just can't figure out why it's doing it all of a sudden. Makes no sense.
Flashed Paranoid Android tonight and it's still doing it! I can't figure this out at all. I wonder if it's a strange bug in 4.2.1 but then why would it start doing it randomly then keep doing it? I wonder if it's possible something is wrong with my phone's hardware?

This device was actually a refurbished VZW replacement since my first GNex had issues, so this still has a 90 day warranty on it, so I may just give VZW a call and get a new device. My headphone jack also started messing up yesterday, where it was detecting headphones, so I had to use SoundAbout to turn that off and it worked, but with this issue and the headphone jack issue, I think the device is just defective.
Bought a Note 2 a couple days ago ( sold my old Note 2 to get the Galaxy s4...dind't like it so sold it and got an HTC One...dind't like it so sold it and got a Note 2 again )
After around 3 days i have a weird rotation problem, the rotation stops working and the only way to get it working again is to reboot.
Searched xda and google and it seems its a bug in the latest android firmware for the Note and not a fault of my device.
Anyone can confirm its a bug and if there is a fix how to fix it???
Still stock cause i wanted to test the device before rooting.

I myself haven't got that problem and I'm on the latest DME6 and DMF1 software.
Try a factory reset?

I'm on ME6 to with ME4, it's a new device. I bought a grey Note 2 last week and that device had the same problem...returned it and bought a brown Note 2 in another store and again same problem.
It works perfect for 2 days and then while in portait or landscape mode it freezes and doesn't wanna rotate anymore...reboot the phone and i'm good again.
I did a factory reset but that didn't solve it.
On the grey Note i used a Nillkin flip case and on the brown Note i'm using a zenus flip case but that shouldn't mess up my rotation right.
I read Samsung said it's a software bug in the latest firmware but if that was the case there would be a lot more threads here about this issue...so really don't know whats going on
2 brand new phones with the same issue...is it a software bug...is it the cases...is it a faulty device...don't know.
Thinking of rooting it and flash a rom with an older firmware to see if that solves it but reading a lot about the imei issues with the latest firmware and i'm on the latest firmware cause it's a new device so don't have a old efs backup to try out some older firmwares
Other users nu rotation issues??

I have tried several apps in the market and the only one that worked while having the issue is the one you posted ( so if i don't find a solution i'm gonna buy that app )
But i would like to know if it's a software bug like Samsung claims and if there are more users with the same issue...or...if there is something wrong with my phone ( witch i doubt cause i have the same issue on 2 new different Note's and after a reboot everything works perfect for a couple of days...and that app wouldn't work if it's a problem with the phone )

i used to have that problem on an old rom, but newer ones work fine for me.
usually toggling auto-rotate off and on worked for me to fix rotation.
and i think getting that app is a good idea anyway.
i have it set to only override specific apps to give them better rotation or upside-down rotation, and to lock rotation to the current state instead of reverting to portrait when i turn off auto-rotate.

Toggling auto-rotate off and on doesn't solve it ( very irritating when the issue comes in landscape mode cause then the only way to use the phone is in landscape lol )...only way to get it back to normal is a reboot.
I'm gonna get that app to solve it for now and hope that a new software update fixes it...or i'm gonna root the phone and try some roms and see if the issue stays.
Do you think it's a software bug or a device fault?

I've had this issue for quite a while now.. at first I figured it was just a bug as my screen would no longer rotate but I've flashed and tried several different roms (Probam jelly bean, KitKat, and now on Temasek V28 KitKat) and have tried a few different Kernels such as Devil 2.3.2 and currently using the stock Temasek kernel.
I've downloaded some sensor apps and they list my sensors, but whenever I go to test them such as the accelerom3534, gyroscope, compass.. they don't work at all.. They just say "waiting for data"
The Proximity sensor still appears to be working though.
Anyone had this issue? My phone I don't think is damaged.. I've dropped it on some small falls in the past but it's been in a nice cover as well.
Small update:
Went back to a rooted stock 4.1.2 AT&T ROM, stock kernel, stock modem.. no change. Must be the hardware being broken

None of the apps will rotate, or say a picture in "gallery". Home screen I know was never designed to rotate.
Also just tried the 1-Click ODIN restore to unrooted stock rom, no difference Screen still does not rotate in any apps.
Sounding like a hardware issue...
Sorry to hear that ...g

the only other option I can suggest is to check and make sure all of your settings that effect screen rotation of cleared. Make sure you don't have smart stay on and you have screen rotation enabled in your settings. You may also want to turn them on if they are off and reboot your phone. Then turn them back off and reboot your phone again. If that doesn't fix it I would assume its a hardware issue.
Did you drop your phone recently or get it wet or damp. That's the only thing I have heard can cause the hardware issue.
bringing this thread back to life sense I couldn't do the same for my sensors
Hello there! So I have had a similar experience with the Note 2. It is not hardware related as far as I can determine because I swapped out the prox sensor on mine and it did not help. I feel that it is kernel related. On my previous Note 2, I flashed some kernel, prox sensor stopped working. I flashed back to stock AT&T and it worked for one call before quitting again. That's when I tried a new sensor and camera unit. The phone was under warranty so I triangled away and traded it. With the current Note 2, I flashed Sky note 9.3 and then after a while the prox sensor stopped working, I just thought okay with whatever maybe it's the kernel I'm using. I wanted to upgrade to Sky note Air, so I did. Got all settled in and decided to see if their provided kernel fixed my call sensor, no cigar. So I went into *#0*# and realized that none of my sensors were working. Tried using Devil Kernel, stock, stock ROM, all sorts of configurations and I can't revive any of them. Feeling very defeated.
Since i had Lux installed on my G2 and found it to work very well ,i thought i would load it onto my Gpad.Shortly after i found that when doing any kind of typing the keyboard would keep giving me the wrong letter ,ie if i pressed A i would get something random like a J,then if i pressed to delete that letter the screen would get a blue line all around it and become unresponsive.
I did a reset and loaded my apps one at a time, and found that if Lux was enabled the keyboard would play up and lag ,disabling it made everything fine,i have now uninstalled and everything is normal.
Anyone else experience anything like this ?.I have emailed the writer of the app ,don't know if i will get a reply.
Thats odd, i dont have that issue. Running Lux Lite
using swiftkey though
No problems here running full version of Lux and SwiftKey..
