[Q] How to Root Xperia Play 2.3.4 without Bootloader unlock ?

Hi guys, I hate to be the new guy asking for something that's more than likely been answered, but I honestly did search for hours on the site before I broke apart and joined the forum to ask.
Basically, I'm new to the android hacking scene and want to Root my Xperia Play R800i that is running 2.3.4, having been upgraded from 2.3.2 . But i'd like to be able to do this without unlocking the bootloader (and according to the system menu, the boot can be unlocked, i just choose to prefer to not unlock it).
Is this possible ? Because the 3 tools I tried that say they supposedly support this, haven't worked for me :
SuperOneClick 2.2
DooMLoRD V3
Root Unroot Sony 1.5
So, can anyone help me out in this one ? Thanks in advanced

For 2.3.2 its called gingerbreak and for 2.3.3-2.3.4 its called zergrush. Search for those.

gingerbreak is not working on 2.3.4
and for use doomlord kernel you have to unlock your bootloader .
there is one way to roor/unroot your beautiful xperia play , use oneclickrool ( https://shortfuse.org ) latest version.it works %100 , i've used it yesterday on my phone 2.3.4 (( .....0.58 ))

Huh.... Oneclickroot worked when uing that new version. 2.2 didn't work, 2.3 did though. Handy.

i am worried about rooting, i definatly want it but i am looking for an easy and safe way to do it please get back to me on this here or preferably by email

when i use superoneclick should i select zergrush exploit

Leave it as AUTO don't select.
Also, it may take a few tried. I had to try like 3-4 times, rebooting each time for it to work.

Make sure you have USB debugging enabled too. First time it faiked for me I forgot to do that

Can I root the device using superoneclick (short fuse)? Would I be able to then use Link2sd?
When rooted to unroot do I just use SE companion to reinstall the software?

NO. you can only root via recovery on .62 but I believe you can downgrade then root or something.

Hi guys,
I really NEED some help here...Im using :
Model : Sony Xperia S (LT26i)
Android : 4.0.4
Build number : 6.1.A.2.45
Im looking to do this things with my phone :
- "backup" the original firmware (so next time i can re-install the original firmware back if anything)
- unload the bootloader
- root the phone

Actually what i do is,
i got the ftf, so i flash it using flashtool, without wiping data and cache.

since you seem to be slightly new to this, i would HIGHLY reccomend you give someone that you know with greater experience to do this for you and show you since the steps are slightly tedious looking.

I new here in this site and am planning to modify my Xperia ION LT28H with PureION Kitkat feeling.
Can you please help me to modify my phone step by step cause am kinda scared to brick my phone and this is my first time to do modification.

First,you will need to root your phone over here
Then if you want to install 4.4.2 ROM,you will need to backup TA here
Last,unlock the bootloader,visit here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242749

The user wants a rooting method for Sony Xperia Ion of build number 6.2.B.0.211 , not Sony Xperia S/SL of build number 6.2.B.1.96 and ROM's for Sony Xperia Ion, not Sony Xperia S.

well after all guide i try, got my LT28H blank screen, not powering on and only i got red light when wall charge or pc charge

Bro first you have to download the 4.1.2 firmware and flash it on your xperia using flashtool, I am providing the most helpful link,from where you can download the 4.1.2 firmware and there is a step by step guide(with pictures) to flash it using flashtool.

Just Flash with the Stock ROM 4.1.2 or if you have cwm recovery you can flash straight in recovery mode
