MMS not sending/recieving - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hey all. Using my N 900T on ATT network. Currently have Hyperbole ROM installed. I cannot send out MMS. I have checked the APN multiple times, but it will not go. I briefly had it work in again last night after I flashed a different kernel (I went from stock 4.4 kernel to Compuksion), but now today it is not working again? Tried flashing another kernel again just to see, CivZ, and no help.
Please help out guys. You all think I borked something and need to flash Rom again, or go back to stock KitKat? Very strange.

I touched on this same problem in the AT&T thread in general. My solution was to switch to a different messaging app, with better APN selection.

I had a similar problem for a while. I could send and receive mms only with the stock app or with Hangouts. At the time I was using Textra, an excellent messaging app. It didn't have application specific apn settings though. So I switched over to ChompSMS, which does have application specific apn settings, and got everything to work. Finally!
My suggestion would be to try an alternate messaging app and play around with any and all apn settings therein until you find something that works.
Good luck. :good:

I should note that the information in that post is not entirely accurate, as Textra does have APN settings. It's just that none of the manual settings worked for me.
Thanatos355 said:
Indeed it does, I mispoke. I apologize.
I should have said that manually adjusting them did not alleviate the issue.
Lack of sleep +many flashes with many settings leads to some....let's call it blurring...of memory.

Yeah, I should mention I am using Chomp, which does have extra APN settings, but still no dice. What settings are you using specifically? Attached is what I have enabled.

Those exact same settings with MCC 310 & MNC 410. Strange.
I think part of the problem is that AT&T has absorbed so many different systems over the years that they still have a good half dozen settings that work for different parts of their "network".
Have you tried flashing/restoring back to stock TW and seeing if mms works from there?

That is going to be my next step I guess. Such a pain man. I have flashed a ton of ROMs and never had issues, but now I am. Blah. Oh well.

Sense roms and facebook synced contacts

Hey guys, I looked for this on XDA and Google but I may just be not searching for the right thing, whenever I try to call a person who has their number on Facebook and it has the format +1... the phone disconnects and says the network is busy and to try again later, but if I remove the +1 the call works fine. I can't seem to edit people who's numbers I got from Facebook to remove the +1 from their number either.
Currently I am using Shooter nightly but I have had this problem on other sense roms as well, my PRL and profile are up to date and I've had this issue when I was stock as well as a friend of mine who has the thunderbolt.
If anyone knows of a way to fix this I would appreciate it.

I have noticed that with phones which have the automatic prepend setup on their phones. If that's the case, it's definitely a network issue. There is not a fashion with which to edit the Facebook contact info, other than adding the contact to the phonebook. Facebook adds that +1 automatically.

Under Settings -> Calls there should be a Setting for Plus Code dialing. The settings there should fix the problem. If you don't have those settings, then you're likely using a ROM ported from a GSM device.

Ah I remembered this setting before when I had this problem I couldn't find it on this rom so I guess I'm using a GSM port... well guess I'm going to have to find another daily, it's okay though I'm a flash-aholic.
Thank you very much.

[Q] Unofficial Slim Bean by Lloir - MMS not working properly...

Hi All,
I have installed Slim Bean by Lloir on my HTC one V.
The only major problem iI have is MMS.
I know that I have APNs properly configured but still MMS won't work,
Let me show you my config... this is how it should look with configs provided by my carrier. Play (Poland)
Settings provided by SIM Card

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This config doesnt work... but when I change APN type to 'mms,*' - this only change i made...
Then additional check box appears next to mms APN
And when I make a 'check' next to mms APN, then I can send mms, but there is no internet connection at all..
when I check Internet APN, I can surf, but cannot send/receive mms
Problem is.. that only one APN at a time can be selected...
Default settings provided by Sim Card are not working...
Do you guys have any idea how to fix that?
I dont really want to switch manually between these 2 APNs
Just One more thing...
Why there is no MMS Protocol option available... according to my carrier I should be using WAP2
Thanks in advance
Marcin

I can read the subject but can't download the actual message.

The Galaxy S3 supports IPv4 and IPv6 PDP so now you can 'dual stack'

(Technically you have been able to do this for a couple of weeks but it was broken due to DNS issues-striped AAAAs, which was resolved yesterday)
Easiest way is to try it and then visit http://test-ipv6.com.
You should score a 9/10 (DNS server isn't dual-stacked, not a problem for now).

IPv6 is just larger addresses for internet protocol. Allows more addresses only.

It lets you reach ipv6 only websites that you wouldn't otherwise be able to reach, which will be more and more over time.

What baseband are you using? Have you actually tried this to verify it works on the S3?
IPv6 has been broken for me (and everyone else) in both T999UVDLJA and T999UVDLJC; if you try to connect to an IPv6 host (e.g. Website), your data connection will drop a few minutes later. I tried the dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 and it makes no difference.

I'm running CM10.1 Nightly (01/14/2013) on a T999v with baseband version T999VVLLE6.
Working perfectly fine on T-Mobile 42Mbps HSPA+ Network.
If anyone wants to do this,
Press Settings>More Settings>Mobile Network>Access Point Names> then tap the carrier you're using.
go down to APN protocol and put the dot in whatever you want to use. back out and you're done.
Good Luck!

[Q] APN and MMS question

Really liking the note4 so far, but i've run into a few small issues. Firstly, Is there a way to modify or create a new APN on this device? The option to create one (the little plus sign) is greyed out and the preset verizon one is unable to be modified. Are these settings that need root to be modified?
Secondly, I've been unable to send MMS messages. I'm thinking this could be related to the apn settings, or not. Just wondering if anyone else came across these issues or knows what I could do. I am able to receive MMS and pictures messages, just not send.
Thanks all!

When you look at your APN settings (settings->more networks->mobile networks->access point names) are you able to add an apn? when you pick verizon internet (the default in mine and what is shown in the picture in OP) are you able to edit those settings?
Thanks

I did do a factory reset and got MMS working fine, but the apn settings are still unable to be changed. I'm sure they're meant to be that way but was curious.

No APN at all?

Bought a note 8, unlocked, verizon, etc and have it on ST.
There are no APN settings at all and no option to add.
Anyone ran across this? Workaround?
Thanks in advance for any help.

It could be the firmware version you're on.. Of course I'm using mine with the Verizon sim card and Verizon firmware version N950USQS5CRID.. I don't know how you have yours set up but in my network Options I see Access Point Names.. May I ask what you need the Access Point Names for?
Since the switch to this phone (I used smart switch so it moved my old apps over). The messaging app I am used to will not send pictures.
Initial thoughts are that it is an issue with the APN not being properly set up.

I was able to go install quick shortcut maker and then go into mobile networks that way and access the APN's.

i use someone original Verizon SIM, the APN option will come back, edit the APN to TRACFONE.VZWENTP then save.
Put your ST SIM back in and it will work

I am having the same issue. I've tried everything from calling ST to putting the old Verizon sim in changing apn saving it and it still did not work for me with ST. Has anyone had any luck?
What happens if you go into settings, General Management, Reset, and the Reset network settings?
Download from playstore shortcut master lite
There should be a free one name something like quickshortcutmaker ( actual shortcut master doesnt have a lite version anymore) when you search for short cut master lite
launch app
go on applications tab and search for com.test.LTEFunctionalityTest
it will say Try on an option or launch
tap try a couple times then check settings under mobile networks,
it should be there
if not go the app again and create shortcut and launch within app by pressing try
worked for me
