I've flashed the DN3 version 4 RC2 and now I have IMEI null and Baseband is unknown.
I did search and came across couple posts which I'd used; listed below.
I've read and followed these instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389426
As well as using the tools listed on that page.
I've also used Dr.Ketan's aroma efs backup/restore to try and restore my efs and I've tried EFS professional.
I have old efs back up from 9/10/2013 in the .img file and the other one from 24/08/2013 in tar.gz file.
Is there any other way to try and restore my phone to its formal functional glory using any of these back ups?
Any help is much appreciated.

This happened to me when I flashed a N7100 rom to my N7105 by mistake, to get it to work again,I unrooted my device, then I installed samsung Kies, from in Kies I went to "Tools" and "Firmware upgrade and initialisation".
It will ask for the serial number under your battery so have it handy before you do this. You will have to boot into download mode and let
Kies do the rest.
It worked for me, cant hurt to try.
Good luck.

You must have to restore with EFS Professional because there are no same patterns were observed for apps but custom recovery does. Now a days in almost every custom recovery offers efs backup and restore(Philz toch is very well), and this is meant to be a suitable method.
Luckily enough it was just a dirty flash! I guess the EFS was still intact and it was just a bad ROM installation.
All is solved

Tried flashing via Odin 3.09, always stuck at SetupConnection. Flashed all files BTW.
Any suggestions?
For flashing try another Odin Version. I had the same problem with my Galaxy S. I've just chosen a higher version

I googled odin versions i think 3.09 is the latest. also tried 3.07 and 1.85 but all gave the same result.
flashing with the pit file fails (0 success / 1 fail). it also corrupts the phone giving the "firmware update encountered a problem, connect to kies" message.

If u have nandroid backup, restore that no matter on which rom you are. Just wipe data and cache before restoring. After restoration take efs backup and flash stock rom or different rom.
Nandroid backup is best for restore efs.

well try it yourself since you have a backup.
Make sure that also have a backup of your Modem and Build, (found in settings under Baseband (modem) and Build Number).
because your EFS backup would work 100% if both of these were the same when you're restoring.
If things didn't go on well, then you can reflash the ROM.
in case the backup wouldn't work (works once then no signal on next restart), then what you have to do is as follows:
1-Flash the ROM that has the same build number as the one you had when you backed up your EFS
2-Restore your EFS and restart
3-Restart again, if there's no signal, then restore your EFS again and restart once.
4-Downgrade your Baseband to any version (I prefer DME4).
5-Perform an OTA update (OTA works if you had status normal and an IMEI and phone signal, so you need your EFS to be restored and the signal working, for the status normal you need 0 flash counts and Full Wipe of data through VolUp+Home+Power).
6-If you have ROOT, then don't touch Install or Install all! click on later.
7-Get Odin Mobile Pro (you need the Pro Version). and run it.
8-Click on "OTA/ update.zip". point it to "/Cache/Fota(might find random numbers here)/update.zip". In case you can't find the file, just use Root Explorer, and copy the update.zip to anywhere on the SdCard0 or extSdCard, and Point Odin to it.
9-Check the EveRoot Option and Odin Pro.
10-Flash the ROM.
now you'll have the same build number, but your baseband is now updated correctly. Just restore the EFS one more time and restart and it should work.
Note: If you may tell me your current baseband and buildnumber, I could save you time by giving you my files if I have the same as you.

Bump, I'd like to know this also.
I wanted to get all of your opinion on backing up the IMEI.
My situation is, I had rooted last year with the s3 toolkit. 1st rom I flashed was paranoid android then now i'm always flashing Task's AOKP. I'm currently on an older release of his rom (5-21-13) and i've probably flashed it a dozen times without any problems.
My question is, should I continue flashing this rom even though I have not backed up my IMEI or EFS folder or should I flash back to stock right away then, backup IMEI/EFS and continue flashing task's rom? Are the chances high of losing IMEI even though i've flashed the same rom for at least a year now?
I have an AT&T SGH-I747 with baseband DLK3.
In addition, if I were to flash back to stock, can I just use this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161667
Unfortunately the download link is no longer there so would anyone have a copy?
Also, would this be the best / easiest way to backup the IMEI as of right now? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804117
Thank you!:cyclops:

Unfortunately EFSpro will only let me do the option under backup on EFS Professional to backup the tz, efs, modemst1, and modemst2. Qualcomm crashes due to me currently being on AOSP. Looks like you must be on stock in order to use that. Any tools that will work for other roms besides stock?

If I were to go back to stock it would simply be to backup the IMEI then flash back to AOSP right away. It looks like that restores stock everything (stock kernel, stock rom, and stock recovery)
I would like to keep my recovery but flash stock rom for AT&T S3 through TWRP so I can keep my recovery.
I backed up my imei because the more posts I read, the more it seemed like having a backup would be crucial if you wanted to restore and be successful.
Since that stock rom that I linked to was no longer active, I searched my old backups and found a stock CWM nandroid backup I made after I rooted. I was on TWRP so I flashed the recovery back to CWM via rom manager. Restore the stock nandroid I made then backed up my IMEI.
Switched back to TWRP and made a nandroid backup of the stock rom with twrp so I don't have to mess with recoveries in the future.
Flashed my 5-21 nandroid that was Task's AOSP then just updated to his latest 9-10 release.
All is great and I have a full NV backup.
Thank you all for the suggestions.

Download a terminal app(root required one) then type su enter reboot nvbackup.
To restore it's su reboot nvrestore.
!!!!!!DO NOT RESTORE BEFORE YOU BACKUP!!!! You will overwrite nv with empty data possibly losing imei forever.

Hello! I have successfully rooted my sm-p605 Note 10.1 with CF autoroot and also flashed TWRP. So far so good!
I´m looking forward to flashing Android Revolution HD on it but I have not yet been able to backup EFS.
I have tried to do it with EFS Professional 2.0. There is no actual filter for this device so I tried using the Galaxy Note 3 filter as i think they have equivalent hardware, that gives me the error that I cannot create tar archive. I also tried to choose "all partitions" but that gives me checksum error.
I am not really sure that I wan't to risk bricking my 750 € tablet by flashing a custom ROM before getting a proper EFS backup.
Are there by the way a risk of corrupting EFS in case I only restore the stock rom backup made in TWRP?
That would be my second option, to only make some root enabled customization and debloating in stock TW and not touch any custom roms and in case of messing up, restoring stock backup.
So, is there anyone that have been able to backup EFS on their sm-p605/Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 LTE Qualcomm?
I do apologize for my crappy English, I ain't a native speaker.
After some research I came across some comments on various websites mentioning that it is possible to restore EFS by flashing stock firmware.
Can someone please verify this? That even if I will not be able to backup EFS i still can restore it by flashing Samsung stock firmware?

Got no idea but you can use a file explorer to grab a copy of your EFS folder with a file explorer like ES and copy to your sd card then transfer to your PC...
Don't know how much of a help this will be but at least you have a copy if you think you can follow some of the recovery instructions and need the original files....
I flashed the same ROM and I remember during the installation it asked me if I want to backup the EFS. I pressed yes and it just did and install the ROM.
Any success on backup EFS folder? I've the same device and i'm planning to try custom rom too

My friend had the same problem..he has a efs backup but both of us dont knw how to restore it back (tried few methods post googling but none worked even after saying successful)
Unbelievable how many of us fell into the same trap. I also flashed this recovery because I wasn't paying enough attention to what I downloaded. And I also lost my IMEI. I hope you backed up your EFS or you could be in trouble.
If you backed up your EFS then just recover it with the same program that you used to make the backup. If that doesn't work try flashing the stock Samsung ROM and try again. You can also try to flash the modem. This helps sometimes.
I had a backup of my EFS. I tried to restore it in CM12, didn't work. I tried to restore it in Ditto4, didn't work. Then I used an old STOCK Samsung ROM. First I got a generic IMEI whereas I got null/null on custom ROMs before. Making progress. Then I tired to recover my IMEI eith EFS. Didn't work. Then I flash the modem with modem_XXDME4__ (i'm from central Europe) and voila, IMEI back.
This is of course all possible only if you backed up your EFS file. If you did not, chances of getting the phone back are quite slim. I've read about a hunderd threads while trying to recover my phone and some say that when you don't have a backup of your EFS partition, just flashing your stock Samsung rom might work. By stock Samsung ROM I mean the one that was preloaded when you bought your phone.
Good luck.

As what @Sheeptar (Thanks ) said, you can try to restore the efs using the method you used to back it up.
Else, try flashing a stock rom. This happened to me too and I was in the middle of flashing a new rom, so I flashed a stock rom using odin, and didn't have a problem while using the new rom.
I guess that version has no modem support, trying flashing previous version
thanks a lot guys ...
had a full twrp back and restored same ....
u ppl are so supportive ....keep up d good work ..
lolz i restored d full backup
didnt tried only efs...
another possible way..
This worked for me once.. Restore the stock version. E.g. Verizon. Then use the setup/phone/reset to factory option. I flashed the wrong note 2 room onto my i605 . Restoring via twerp didn't work, but the above did.
