Noticed something earlier. Decided to turn the volume down earlier while on a call and the buttons were not doing anything.
Moved the phone away to look at the screen and they worked to turn the volume down, put the phone back to my ear, decided I'd turned it down a bit too much and again, not working.
Seems the volume control works when the screen is on and away from my head but not when it's off and to my ear.
Does anybody else see the same thing?
Cheers
Tim
This happens to me as well, need to take phone away from ear to adjust the volume. Anyone have a fix for this?

Do you want to hear this sound or is the problem the fact that you can hear it when up close to your ear?

The lock screen sounds are a system sound. I use volume manager from the market and turn it up and down in there.
No i did the 3.7 update and now when i click on the lock button my phone wont make the lock sound, well it does but you cant hear it like how it use to, i just got the rear speaker replaced and music and ringer works just fine, and when i dial numbers it doesnt make that sounds either
Ok sorry to all, i figured it out, some how my system volume was turn down, and my dumb ass didnt know how to turn it up lol, thanks for the app, that helped
Okay, i love this phone, but a few things are happening that kind of freak me out i was wondering if anyone else is experiencing these things.
1.) If you have UI sounds enabled.. ie...click noises for anything you select on your phone screen. Something wierd happens, i was wondering if anyone can test this and tell me if their getting the same thing.
Please be somewhere dead silent. Click anything and listen for the UI sound... now wait a couple seconds, probably 3 seconds and then you will hear a feint "pop" after not doing anything in that time. The "pop" sound almost sounds like that noise when you have your stereo hooked up to something and you unplug it while its on..that hot "pop"??? i dont know how to describe, was just wondering if anyone could test and see if their gnex does that too.
2.) I dont know if this is related to #1, but if im listening to my gnex through headphones, the UI click noises will all be followed by a feint hiss. Also when i unplug the 3.5 mm jack, i can hear a different type of hiss through the speakerphone like 2 seconds later.
3.) This has happend to me 2 times now. I will not use my phone for an extended period of time..probably 2 hours ish... When i turn my phone back on my touch screen isnt working, i cant swipe to unlock or anything. But i can still hold the power button and get the power-off menu, or press the volume rocker keys and lower the volume / raise the volume. I have to pull battery to get it working again.
4.) My gps voice sounds terrible, it sounds distorted at no matter what volume i have my phone at
5.) Kind of minor, but lets say im in my car and running audio through my g-nex, when i unplug my 3.5 mm cable from the gnex, the gnex will make a hissing noise about 2 seconds after unplugging through the phones speakerphone.
i really dont want to have to return this phone, but i mean all these annoyances are really hard to live with. I hope someone can give me some insight maybe even tell me their gnex has a problem, so that im not the only one having these problems.
Dont know

Just my 2 cents but it sounds like you are using a snake. Not a phone lol.
But seriously same things happened to me. I'm sure google is working on it.

It seems that when you are in a call, the volume is FULL VOLUME, and you cannot turn it down without turning the volume UP and then DOWN. Anyone else seeing this?
tested mine(grey) on inbound/outbound calls....volume worked as it should
It seems to be the first time if you restart the phone. The phone earpiece is full volume, then you press volume UP and it goes quiet. It seems to be OK after that. So a minor issue apparently.
I play music off my phone in the car. After I answer a call, the music resumes at a much lower volume, despite the fact that I haven't touched the volume on the phone or car. I have to press volume up 3 times and it doesn't go gradually up, but instantly from the low volume to the high it was at. Is there a setting to get the music volume to maintain? Using poweramp. Thanks
Anyone have a similar issue? I remember having it on the GNex as well but fixed it somehow. Cannot remember how, though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I continue to experience this same problem on stock 4.1.2 ROM. I suspect it is a bug in the ROM. I don't know how to duplicate the problem because I have gotten calls and the volume was correctly restored. I've also tried making calls and the volume was correctly restored.
check all your sound setting and make sure that the volume is up on the system part of the sound menu...i had the same problem ...that seemed to fix it for me...

HI guys,
I've got a weird issue with my phone. It seems to be stuck on loudspeaker, no matter if I press the loudspeaker option to turn it off or have headphones plugged in. When I turn it off, the button changes colour but it's still in LS. Plugging in/out headphones before during and after a call makes no difference although the button ends the call.
Any ideas? I'm running ARHD / Android 4.4.3. I have rebooted gracefully and hard with the volume up and power.
Please help!
Bump! Surely someone must have an idea what's going on here.
Bump.. Anyone?
So no one knows what's going on here?
